Absolutely superb Sunday lunch. We’ve dined many times here and it’s always excellent. Today was flawless in every way. The menu is full of tempting and delicious choices, our starters were scotch egg and scallops. My wife had the roast chicken and I had the pork, accompanied with a lovely and generous selection of vegetables. Raspberry Bakewell tart was the perfect dessert. You could not fault the food in any way. Attentive and friendly service from the whole team. You will not have a better dining experience anywhere better. Well worth a visit.

I've wanted to have a classic high tea for a long time and share the experience with my husband, who has a different cultural background than mine. After searching various places, I decided on Carridges. The quirkiness of having a high tea on a classic pulman train carridge looked exciting. As this outing was for my birthday, we went for the high tea and booked a private compartment in their Oliver carridge. It did not disappoint. Walking through the display gardens onto the station where the Carridges are set is lovely. We were greeted by warm, friendly staff, who checked your booking and confirmed issues around any dietary issues. We were shown to our compartment, which was lovely. A small bottle of bubbly to share and our choice of tea ordered, and our high tea arrived. The staff were very attentive about allergens, and there were no issues with what we had. There was a lovely selection of finger sandwiches, warm savouries, little desserts, and then followed by the scones. We swapped out the savoury scones for the sweet ones, and this was no issue. There was more than ample for two people, and we were offered boxes to take the remaining items home. My husband loved the tea and was furiously searching the Internet once home to find some. The one thing I would advise on is that if your sat nav is not up to date, it would be better to use Google maps on your phone. As the though the new roads can confuse. Once near, follow the actual signs for Banolds as you immediately turn left into the car park for carridges. I say this as Google Maps got confused at this point and was trying to take us into the driveway of a house. (Carridges was directly behind here).we also had the 3.15pm sitting, so bear in mind the tea time rush hour traffic when you are finished.

NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED :-( The Plough at Rede is one of Suffolks best kept secrets. A thatched pub with oak beams, an open fire, all tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Rede. Stunning location, fabulous atmosphere with a warm welcome and the best food for miles around. Brian and Joyce have been running the Plough for over 30 years with customers returning time and time again. Ide give 100 stars if I could.

What a lovely little Bistro, exactly what Fakenham needed, interesting, charming and housed in one of Fakenham’s lovely old buildings. Great menu, had a super evening meal on Saturday, liver and bacon to die for. It has a lovely French feel with the ambiance and menu. Cuisine Francais rustique! wonderful. Go there, highly recommended.

We will be back!! I approached Pottergate Pantry as our usual provider couldn’t fit us in this week. Given the short notice Karl was very accommodating! We had lunch over 3 days, first day we had the sandwich, cake and fruit platter for 9ppl, the other two days we had just sandwiches for 14-16ppl. Everything was well presented on sandwich trays (that we wash and return to reuse), and labelled with allergy information. A lovely and wide variety of fillings from your classic hams, cheese, egg to a mix of chicken and seafood options. Some of the guys present on the first day were disappointed not to have cakes the following days… very reasonable price and kindly delivered as we are city centre based. Would highly recommend!

We have been eating from Platters since the doors opened many years ago, always fresh and tasty Sandwiches, Baguettes, Soups and Jacket Potatoes made to order not pre-packed. Never had a bad one and always good value for the quality you get. The Chicken Bushfire Baguette is my favourite and is out of this world! Just the best. Even if you just nip in for a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake you will not be disappointed!
