We popped into Rootz Coffee to sample their milkshakes and iced coffee. We were not disappointed: the Oreo milkshake was nice and thick and full of Oreo flavours, and the After Eight milkshake had the classic pieces of soft minty fondant throughout. We were even tempted by a slice of generously portioned cake. It's a great place with friendly service and a great vibe.

I have been calling at a nearby bakery for a while and decided to try Rootz for a coffee. The staff member was cordial and I enjoyed the decent cappuccino I was served. More pretentious beverages were available such as chai latte with coconut milk, but I am too conservative for that sort of thing.

We were starting a walk in Chorleywood and looking for a place for a light lunch. There were many places to choose from in the Main Parade of shops - none of which looked great from a distance but when we got close up some looked very nice inside. We choose Rootz as it was high in the reviews and we could see why. We both had what they called 'Salad Box' on the menu. There was no box but lots of tasty ingredients. Between us we had the chicken, chorizo and pepper with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, pepper, red onion, goat's cheese & olives and also the chicken and bacon on a salad base with Caesar dressing. Both were excellent with a good amount of 'proper' ingredients and not too much of the salad base ingredients. They made really good coffee too - we had a flat white and cappuccino.

We visited today and unfortunately it was not a very good experience. I'll start with the positives - lovely fresh smoothies & large portions of cake. However mainly on member of staff was not only substandard with his customer service but he was actually rude and hostile. I met a friend here with her two lovely children I believe they are 2 and 5years of age. They were very well behaved. This particular male member of staff obviously has no tolerance or liking for children. her son (2yrs) found the button for the fairy lights and was making the lights flash! The rude staff member came and asked him to leave it which his mother stopped him straight away and then rudely he turned the lights off at the switch. Nobody asked us if everything was ok at anytime - they were not busy and came to collect our empties. My friends younger daughter slightly fell off her chair and this rude male came over and passive aggressively asked 'are we having problems with the chairs?' All in all a terrible experience with children (just being children!). We were made to feel a nuisance and left shortly after! Will not be returning here. What a shame.

Lovely place to go, with delicious coffee and food. My only sadness is the packaging of some of their products - when you order toast and jam it comes with a horrible plastic packet of jam and individually wrapped butter - think of the environment Rootz! Another good experience here. Not hard to work out why this is the busiest of several local coffee shops in the village. The interior is warm and welcoming on a chilly winter day, the service is friendly, efficient and prompt and the food and drinks are top quality. My bacon and sausage sandwich was top class, just what I needed. My cappuccino was strong, not like so many other places where it’s more like a latte with thicker froth.

As a regular visiter to Rootz it has been disappointing to see its decline over the past few months: most noticed in the staff attitude and quality. We ordered a favourite of mine - carrot cake. I couldnt eat it, it was dried up in the middle and tasted very strongly of cinnamon which I dont like. I mentioned this to staff and they were not pleased that I had complained and the repsonse was 'it is v popular' No offer of a refund or something else!. They did admit it was bought in - probably like most of their snacks. I suggested they should take it away before somebody else ordered a slice - but they weren't keen to do that. They do have a weird selection of snacks with some strange flavours that didnt appeal at all, but most are gluten free if that is something you require. Maybe Rootz has become too popular so the managemnt dont care anymore - or perhaps they are under new managment?

For the 2nd year running, we booked out Rootz for a club dinner. It was 'cozy' but this added to the fun. Because of numbers, with notice, we were given a selection of Indian starters and a choice of two main curry-based options. A bit limited but not a problem as we knew what to expect. Something as easy but not curry would have been good.

My wife and I stopped at "Rootz Coffee" for some breakfast when on our way to Uxbridge. Rootz is a welcoming and busy (on a Saturday anyway it was) place for a morning coffee and a spot of breakfast. We had a bacon and a sausage sandwich and it was fabulous, made with fresh thick cut bread. The latte's we had were also very good. Prices are reasonable with us paying GB£11.90 for our coffee's and breakfast sandwiches. Rootz has a nice ambiance and decor and there are items to buy (we bought 3 candlesticks). The manager (Jordan) was a very nice bloke and really knew how to deliver great customer service. There is free on-street parking available outside Rootz. In short we really liked our breakfast at 'Rootz Coffee' and I'd certainly recommend it if in the area.

Great local cafe, great atmosphere and with very friendly staff, well recommended. However I must mention the fantastic bacon sandwiches, the best that I have eaten in years and Rootz never fails when I order one.Bacon sandwich rant: How difficult is it to make a good bacon sandwich? One would imagine it's quite difficult judging by the substandard offerings served in most places. A good bacon sandwich is defined primarily by good quality thick bacon, cooked medium meaning ever so slightly crispy on the edges (unless a customer specifies otherwise) and defined by the bread itself. A good bacon sandwich must be served in fresh doorstep thick cut bread (granary or white), not some nasty pre-sliced supermarket sandwich cut bread from a plastic bag..... that's just wrong.Rootz has totally grasped the correct concept of the above. The bacon actually has flavour, is the correct thickness and cooked to perfection plus the bread is so fresh and thick cut 10/10

Today on one of the hottest days of the year (over 30 degrees), one of the owners of Rootz chose to leave his dog in a boiing hot car. Yes the sunroof was open, allowing the blazing sun to drill down onto his dog but the windows were tight shut. She was there for 25 minutes plus while he sat inside the air-conditioned cafe.We told him that his dog was hot and he did nothing. When another woman was concerned enough to mention the pet's predicament to the girls behind the counter, he lost his temper. He lost it big time. He shouted and continued to shout in the street. She became frightened but, as a dog lover wanted to see the dog out of the heat. He was both aggressive and scary. He made the woman cry. We will not be going to Rootz again. I am not new to the area even though I live mainly in Cyprus. Spent a lovely month with my son and on most mornings, stopped for delicious coffee and tasty calorie ladden breakfasts! Well I am on holiday. On first impressions it has a similar look and feel to Costa. Very casual and warm. Staff are generally nice and friendly with the odd exception which has been discussed with the owner. Whether you are a frequent local customer or, if you are new (and who knows you could become a frequent customer), to be treated like a valued client is important. It doest take a lot to be aware of someone leaving and giving a friendly thank you? Get this right and this is a 5 star coffee shop to die for. Look forward to my next trip back and Rootz.

I drink decaf so I am not the best judge of coffee but what I do know is tiffin - they have the best! A chocolate delight. The staff are sweet and helpful too.Only down side is that they only have one loo and that is bit basic and gets messy ;0(Still worth a visit.

I had a quick visit here with the family as part of a pre-birthday treat. I went for a raspberry, apple and blueberry smoothie which was really refreshing and a loverly fruity drink.Rootz coffee is a decent little place in Chorleywood high street that's worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a quick milkshake or smoothie.

Went to this independent family run place, during one of the hottest days of the summer recently. The iced coffee they offer was an absolute life saver in the heat. The iced coffee may have been ice cold but the staff were warm and personable which adds a nice touch to the place. The cafe itself had a chilled out vibe to the place, with comfy sofas, which after walking around in 30 degree plus weather was much welcomed! It has that neighbourhood hang out place feel to it. If you happen to be near the area it is a great place to go to relax and recharge the batteries!

Rootz is a great place to go for a chat, lunch and even to do some work. There are lots of areas to sit at and it is an interesting place to be and lots of things to look at that are all fair trade and available to buy. Good coffee, excellent milk shakes and staff are polite and attentive. Been going here for years and will definitely continue to do so.

A comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with excellent service from staff who treat you like a friend even on your first visit. The food is generous and of the highest organic quality, with a wide range to choose from.

It's got great coffee (probably the best I've had)A huge selection of teasWe didn't try the shakes or smoothies but lots of other people were ordering them.Good selection of home made cakes. I ordered a sandwich and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived with a salad and crisps (lovely freshly sliced bread) my friend had a Greek salad and said it was just like being in Greece.

I have been going to Rootz for nearly 5 years and it is still yet to disappoint! If you're looking for a cafe to stop off for an hour or two with friends or family then I would highly recommend Rootz as the place to go. The atmosphere is nothing but friendly, the food is delicious and great value and a personal favourite for the summer time is the smoothie menu. All the staff are extremely friendly and attentive and the manager aka Mr Stunningly Handsome Man (not his words at all...) will put you at ease right away with his natural charm and winning looks. Overall, if you haven't been to Rootz yet you're really missing out on a little treasure!

My son had just passed his cycling proficiency test and was eager to cycle to the village on his own. We decided we'd follow him down in the car a few minutes later and meet up in Rootz Coffee Shop for lunch.as so often is the case, the Coffee Shop was quite busy (Chorleywooders know a good thing when they have it) but we luckily found a spare table. I ordered the bacon and brie toasted sandwich (I chose the granary bread option but all fillings we available in chiabata, white , granary or wrap) and a latte. My wife and 2 children ordered various different sandwiches/wraps from the large selection on offer.when the drinks arrived the coffees were accompanied by a large cube of the most delicious home made shortbread. Whoever makes this needs a special reward just for that! After only a short wait our food was brought over. MY WORD!! The size of the portion! A large sandwich with lovely tasty bacon and great thick slices (chunks?) of brie, accompanied by a good size side of fresh salad and what must have been virtually a whole bag of crisps. My son, who has a reputation for eating anything and everything laid before him - and who hates to let even a mouthful go 'to waste' - had to admit defeat after managing only 2 thirds of what was on his plate.I valiantly struggled on and ate most of my serving. However I couldnt move for a considerable while after - and didn't eat another thing all day.Staff are really friendly. Food is delicious and you get plenty for your money.marks out of 10? Twelve and three quarters definately!

Must admit the visit didn’t start well. The car park is scruffy with bins, rubbish and sundry old equipment piled up and it doesn’t create a good first impression. Inside the welcome was warm and friendly but the chairs at the table we were shown to were scruffy and very stained. My first beer (London Pride) was sour, probably the end of the barrel, but was changed when I pointed it out and The Scarecrow much better. Not good so far. However, the staff were great and the food very good. Fish and chips was plentiful and beautifully cooked. The Hoisin Belly Pork something different and really tasty. Overall we all enjoyed our visit and would go again.

After many years of great food and service, we were shocked and horrified by the appalling lack of customer service following a terrible JustEat experience..... Despite knowing, and being known by this business for countless years, I am speechless. As it stands they will get no more custom from us, and we will share our awful experience with all our friends....

Great pub just off the Common - nice warm interior and a good place to watch the rugby. Great selection of beers and friendly staff. Nice beer garden too.
