Well where to start, apon entry we was greeted with welcomed arms, staff were all very polite and extremely friendly, food was 10/10! The pictures speak for themselves! Each dish when served was explained thoroughly, and you can see and taste the passion in each dish! Will definitely recommend to everyone and will definitely be visiting more often!

They don’t answer the phone, we walk 2 miles to get there, and despite having three members of staff there, they told us they were understaffed and couldn’t give us food or drink, we had children under 10 with us. Their tone was partiality aggressive this was around 5:45 on a Saturday. Awful attitude.

Always receive the warmest of welcomes. Great selection of Beers. The food is amazing (had the Oaks special today and the meat was cooked to perfection, sauces and even the bread. Better than most restuarants) as is the service. Can't recommend this place highly enough, hence why we return time and time again.

Nice pub pretty local. We arrived after dark and in the winter but the terrace seems to be a bit small and close to the road. Attentive service from the owner and team and food was better than expected. I think the heater was off so a bit cold inside to my liking

The best food and table service you’ll find in a pub. Staff very kind and helpful. Amazing food at decent prices. Brilliant atmosphere and location would give 10 stars if I could. Overall the best pub in maple cross. I highly recommend if you’re looking for lunch or just going out for the evening. Solid pub. This miles better than the dumbbell pub that smells of cigarettes and donkey shart.

Came here for refuge due to a closure on the M25. Was pleasantly surprised to see a uniquely Turkish themed menu given it had a very pubby vibe. Linda at the bar was welcoming and provided incredible service taking our food and drinks orders promptly. The food was great and wished we could've had a proper meal and dinner there. Definitely will endeavour to visit again!

Alexa is the best barmaid I've ever known. She plays every record I ask for! Seriously, staff here are very chilled and the place has a local and welcoming atmosphere and a good range of nicely chilled lagers.

Such a pity as clearly the owners want to Make a go of this place. They did it up during covid and we were made to feel Welcome. The food is decent we hear (did not try it). However whilst having our drinks the staff started moving tables around - at 9pm. Not just tables but sofas and chairs. One sofa hovering over our head. The doors were left wide open making the pub cold. Apparently they were getting ready for an event the following evening! Totally disregarding those of us in the pub already. Lesson :- Look after the people in the pub, not those who might be coming. For a number of us, this is our nearest pub - but we wont be coming back! Customers lost.

on holiday walked in and was greeted like i was a local by everyone in the pub. the table service was excellent and polite and the food was the best ive hade the hole holiday would definitely recommend and come again.

Come to this lovely little village pub for a nice meal only to be robbed. As I left I realised I left my rucksack, I phoned up as soon as I found out and phoned the pub to ask them to leave it somewhere safe and I would pick it up the following day. . After many times coming popping in to ask them if I could collect it I was fed with lies. Only to now be told the cleaners had stolen it and there's nothing they could do about it . No apology and horrible management.

We ordered a delivery through Uber eats, they rang us to say they had run out of an item order, we change our order. Waited an hour for our food, had an email to confirm it was out for delivery and on route, then all of a sudden it was cancelled. Have been unable to get hold of restaurant. Shocking to say the least! Now we are hungry and it’s too late to order from somewhere else! Never ever have I experienced this before, don’t think we will be returning here again!

Warm welcome by friendly staff. A log fire on a cold day. Excellent Turkish hot meze to share for lunch and good beer. A good playlist as well. Will return

Amazing food and friendly atmosphere. We ordered the Oaks Special to share… lamb & chicken shish, kofte, chicken wings, lamb chops and lamb ribs with buttery rice, bread and salad. It’s well worth the price especially as it’s a sharing plate - and we had enough to take away with us. The menu has a good mix of food to cater to all tastes… staff were lovely, we will definitely be going back.

We visited the Oaks recently having been meaning to try it for some time and were very pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service is. We enjoyed it so much we have been back a couple of times since then and found it just as good on each occasion. We found a large selection of Turkish/Middle Eastern dishes with generous portions and freshly prepared. We found Angela and her team very friendly and welcoming. We are looking forward to return soon to try some more dishes on the menu.

Visited for my mum's 50th birthday in July 2021 on a Tuesday. it was fairly quiet, however there was around 11 of us. The food was fabulous, I had the lamb kofte, others had the kleftico, lamb saute, burgers, mixed meze, all commented on how nice the food was. Passion fruit and espresso martinis on draught were great. We then came back the day after for round 2 of food and drinks. Opted for shish wraps and chips, so yum! We will be back!

Ordered takeaway via the just eat app and was very happy with it. Food was piping hot and arrived very quickly. Possibly up there with one of the best Turkish meals I have had. The Iskender was really tasty. Have eaten here pre lockdown, burgers, just when the new owners took over and service was good.

Managed to get a table outside with no pre-booking required. Menu is Turkish/Middle Eastern. Ordered halloumi salad and falafel and hummus wrap. Both delicious and nicely prepared. Great service. Lovely pub. Will definitely go back.

Takeaway ... late and cold . Had to microwave starters. Prawn starters were 6 little prawns in not a bad sauce.... £7? Moussaka although lamb, was more vegetarian, tasteless

My first visit was just before lockdown in October and it won't be my last. Excellent food, friendly attentive staff and spotlessly clean with Covid protection rules in place. We had a take away tonight 20th November, lamb shish. Generous portions with salad, rice, bread and sauces. As delicious as the meals when you sit in the restaurant and such good value!

Some friends, my dog and I went here for Lunch the other day, we were pleasantly surprised at the vast menu, it was hard to make a choice as so many things were tempting. Two of us had the Chicken Shish, one Mixed Kebab and the other Vegetarian Moussaka. All the meals were delicious and plentiful, served with nice fresh salad and rice and very reasonably priced. Desserts not much choice, but the Tiramisu and Rice Pudding were lovely. Nice atmosphere although not very busy being a weekday lunchtime, loved the Halloween Decorations, especially the old couple sitting at the bar! They have really made an effort for Halloween, so much so we decided to go again tonight for Halloween. Looking forward to eating another delicious meal. Compliments to the Chef and the new owner for making this such a pleasant venue to visit. Well deserved 5 *!!!

I was very surprised at red quality of the good in this small local pub. Service was abit slow, but food quality more than made up for it! Well worth the drive out. We will be back!

Had heard good reviews about this place so thought we would give it a try.Sat outside, tables nicely spaced, lots of lovely choices on the menu, we opted for the lamb kofte wrap with fries, it didn’t disappoint! Really tasty kofte and the fries were delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, will be back to try the dinner menu.

They now have a Turkish chef and the food is fantastic. Menu is lovely and food very tasty. Pub is clean and tables wellSpaced. They also offer a children’s menu for little ones that don’t want the full Meze. Staff friendly and very accommodating will be back for sure.

If ever there was an argument for doing what you know then this is it. Humus, halloumi, kleftiko, kofte, shish and a wonderful meze to mention just a few. All authentic and delicious. Staff are helpful and attentive. You won’t be disappointed!

Only went for drink, luckily they had some table outside on the sun. The Covid measures were well though of and simple to understand. The beer was fresh. EXCELLENT!! Also staff v friendly and more hospitable than a fish named pub nearby.

We booked the restaurant for Sunday lunch. It was my husband's 65 birthday. We all ordered roast, three beef and one pork. The restaurant was empty when we got there. The staff were friendly. When the dinners came it looked good but the beef was very tough stringy and chewy and like leather. We asked for steak knives but we were still struggling to get any meat. In the end we decided to complain and the waiter asked if we wanted the same we chose chicken and pork. We had to wait a long time for a replacement which totally spoilt the lunch. Half of us were waiting for the other half to finish. My son and his family were waiting to travel up north so we did not have time for dessert. When I went to pay the guy apologised for the meals and took one dinner off the bill. When you pay nearly £17 for a roast you expect it to be better quality. It ruined my husband's 65th birthday celebration.

I cannot recommend this place enough. We recently had the pub exclusively for my brothers wake and Sarah the manager was amazing from start to finish. She put on tea and coffee for after the funeral and then a very tasty buffet, catering for all dietary requirements. She did some lovely touches like supplying the tables with Lilly’s and put a poem we liked on the tables and baked a cake. All the staff were superb and probably very tired by the end of the night. We did my brother proud. I’d like to thank you all very much and will see you again soon - maybe for Sunday lunch :-)

Was very impressed with the food after having a bad experience here last year. 14 out of the 14 meals were lovely and definately be going back again

Some good and some bad elements overall. The staff were very friendly and nice, but the service was very slow. It took us 2.5 hours almost for our Sunday lunch which felt very slow as we are are not slow eaters. The starters and puddings were very small and quite expensive. The soup was only a couple of cms deep and although tasty was not very satisfying. We actually complained about the pudding as the crumbles were about 5 mouthfuls and mostly just apple with a very small few crumbs of crumble on top. They took them off the bill with no bother (but otherwise would have been £7!). The roasts were nice- we tried beef, pork and chicken and they were all good but one of the beefs which was very chewy and fatty but this was unlucky as the other beef was nice. Overall we were left disappointed compared to previous visits as it seems to be more expensive, smaller portions and worse quality. We also miss the sticky toffee pudding which they used to do here which was the best I have ever had.

My husband and I agreed that in all our (advanced) years, we have never tasted crackling as delicious- crispy, yet not tooth-breaking, and crunchy all the way through. The vegetables were carefully cooked, with thin new carrots glazed with honey. Usually my husband doesnt eat cooked carrots,but he scoffed all these.The duck and pork pate starter was quite delicious, in that it was cooked with orange,accompanied by soft dates and sour dough bread.No room for a dessert this time.There was no fish on the menu on the Sunday we were there. (Just as well, or we might not have sampled the roast pork!)This simple pub stands on it's own on the corner of the A412 and Coppermill Lane. No view to speak of, but next time, we would walk along the Grand Union canal for our post-prandial excercise.Highly recommended.The pub is quite simple, with a pleasant double-aspect raised area, but no views to speak of.

Good value for Sunday lunch. Massive portion size, we couldn’t eat all of the meat. Vegetables not overcooked. Roast potatoes disappointing as not crispy and no crunchy crackling with the pork. Had to ask for horseradish and apple sauce. Typical locals pub, no frills and friendly staff.

Well I came in a few months ago and had a rubbish dinner so gave this pub a miss , my daughter convinced me to give it another try as it’s been taken over so went in and had a burger and omg wow fabulous I would definitely recommend the burgers here massive thumbs up

Tender Pork loin with all the trimmings cooked to perfection , followed by trio dessert of brownie apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding naughty but so nice , I popped in after realising it was under new management and has new chef so I tried it out and will 100% be going back , I love the variety of food they have for all Types , vegan veggie options even look fab I can’t rate this place enough and it’s a great friendly atmosphere.Highly recommended

Hadn't been in for a while so decided to try again since it's been taken on by new management. We really enjoyed the new platters they've got. We had the ploughman's platter but the fisherman's also looked really good. Would definitely go again, good value for money.

Where do I start? Christmas Eve and we were the ONLY people in the place, the alarm bells started ringing! We got served drinks at the table after some wait, I don't know why it took so long as there was no one there? It really started coming apart when we started ordering the meal. Half the starters we ordered, the waiter come back from the kitchen and said they had no STOCK. After having now changed my order, I then ordered the Halloumi Cheese starter with sweet chilli sauce. Well the Sweet chilli sauce ended up being tomato sauce, with Tabasco sauce mixed into it....... SHOCKER! I raised this with the "manager" and he said "sorry" in a nonchalant way and moved on.

Visited this restaurant recently for the first time and will not be going again. The restaurant was cold as the heating had not been switched on and when we complained about how cold it was they looked surprised but did switch it on. We were then informed that the food would take an hour as there was a problem with the chef. They could have told us this on arrival but did not bother to do so. Cannot comment on the food as had to leave along with all the others who were there.

Having reviewed this restaurant previously and had a brilliant meal and experience, this was the complete opposite, over 2 hours for the mains to arrive, we had to ask constantly for drink service, food was cold when it eventually arrived, food turned up in Drib and drabs for example the naan bread arrived and the curry 10 mins later, they also for got a meal! In general an absolute disaster of a dining experience.

Alarm bells should have started to ring when we turned up to an empty restaurant. Even the table had not been set up although we had booked. The mains took 2 hours to turn up after we had ordered them. Wouldn’t have been too bad and would have understood if the restaurant was busy, but there was us and 2 other tables that were eating. Staff seemed non interested and kind of like they had given up.

After a stressful trip to Heathrow to meet my wife, we decided to have lunch at the Oaks- a very good decision.I drank a well kept pint of "Olivers Island"a refreshing Fullers beer.They also do "Tribute" another good bitter.Our starter was brilliant and innovative,halloumi "chips"cooked in breadcrumbs with salad garnish and a piquant sauce.Fish & chips for my wife,and I demolished a plate of Cumberland sausages with mash and gravy.This was pub food at its best in a well run tranquil country pub.A big thank you to Ali and his team for such a delicious meal, we will be back soon.

My partner and I went on a spur of the moment for a meal and can say we were very impressed. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was great - tasty, hot and good portion sizes. I went for the fish and chips with mushy peas and my other half had chicken supreme with mash and veg. We were both extremely happy. Will be visiting again.

Driving past and decided to stop for lunch. The pub was empty which surprised us as having been here before some years ago it was always rammed.

We went to this restaurant for my wife's birthday. I reserved in advance. I asked for a table with a view. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we were given a table with little view and a party of 6 people, some of whom were deaf, were seated next to us, so they were continually shouting!

I would love to comment on the food after spending 40mins walking to the place, however the kitchen was shut due to ‘someone’ leaving next week. Now here’s a suggestion maybe update the website to say this instead of wasting customers time!

Lovely old pub with a real fireplace, dog friendly and great food. Stopped for my partner's birthday lunch. We had pork belly and a burger and both were great. Wonderful chips and great calimari starter. Friendly service as usual.

We needed a place for our family meet that had a wide range of food, to meet six different distrust needs and tastes.

All you need from a family and dog friendly pub. There is some serious cooking going on there. The food is spot on, fresh, well cooked, well presented and you can tell prepared with care. I like their wine selection and the fact that everyone is just soo nice, staff, the owner, locals. We are keen walkers and often step by for a lunch or drink. Highly recommended even if you need to make a special trip to visit it.

We were passing through and chose this place for Sunday lunch as it was listed as dog- friendly and it looked like it had a lot of greenery around it for a nice post lunch walk. We were not disappointed. Very friendly welcome, nice ambience, offered the dog water. Good menu choice- the usual Sunday roasts offered ( I had a lovely vegetarian Chestnut roast with all the trimmings incl veg gravy and a great yorkshire pudding) and hubby had steak which was a good size and he said was perfectly cooked. Great chips too! Yummy dessert choice. Nice lakeside walks nearby. Will definitely come again if in the area. We both had two courses, and bill was just over £40 incl two pints of beer so we thought this was good value.

On our way to attend the England vs Czech Republic game we thought we’d stop off for late dinner so we didn’t have to pay ridiculous Wembley prices. Walked in and surprised by how little people were there to eat we thought we’d give it a go as I’d read some good reviews.

I walked in, had a looked around and walked straight out again. I'm not sure how this pub got such a good rating.

The public house is situated just off the A412 and by the road to Harefield. It has a large car park with easy access for the disabled. Inside it is bigger than it looks and is mainly set up as a restaurant. We visited for lunch and found a small menu was provided with a limited choice of items. However the food was freshly prepared and was served very efficiently and was served hot. All staff were very friendly and helpful and knew about the items on the menu. For a quick lunch it is to be recommended.

My husband & I visited the Oaks for lunch taking an old friend with us as we had visited the pub for lunch on a previous ooccasion & found it was quite acceptable. Unfortunately, on this occasion it was appalling, leaving us feeling very eembarrassed as we were treating a friend for lunch. Firstly, our guest noticed that his beer was cloudy, next , my husband & friend ordered fish & chips , well, the portion of fish that they were served looked like it had come from the child's menu as it was so very small & the batter was also very soggy. I ordered the potato & aubergine curry but there was not an aubergine or potato to be seen anywhere in it, only a brown sludge containing a few sugar snap peas & not many of them at that ! It was really quite disgusting. I wish now that I had sent the whole lot back but as we were a treating our friend I didn't want to cause a fuss on this occasion

Havent been to The Oaks for a while and enjoyed the evening with my friends. Staff helpful and friendly and food delicious. Definately need to book at weekends has a small car park if full there is space on the side road. Pink Lady

What a delight.. The lunch menu is priced at £6.95.. I had ham and cheddar pie, which is suet.. Not just a puff pastry and blummin delicious .. The meal that arrived looked and was delicious and I would have happily paid £12 at any other pub.. The staff were friendly and the place was sparkly clean and inviting... 10/10 for a Tuesday lunch

I have been here many times the food is good however it is a little expensive for pub meal, I think it’s the price of drinks that pushed it up. Massman curry is great 👍

Booked here for convenience, half way between offices. Was pleasantly surprised. Catering for a group of 14 is daunting and can be fraught with dishes potentially cold etc. No such worries here. All food delivered hot to the tables and cooked to the individuals liking. Will be back here again!

Friendly service. Should not advertise salmon fish cakes when curry powder predominates. Lunch time breakfast acceptable if small. Being empty at one didn't help atmosphere.

I visited here for the first time with my boyfriend and family this weekend. We haven't been here before and it was shut recently I think it was being refurbished. It's gorgeous inside with a real fire which we sat by and it was super warm!
