Last minute lunch decision and first-time visitors, we were met with a very enthusiastic front of house lady who turned out to be the owner’s daughter. Simple but extensive menu ranging from Oysters and Wagyu steaks and burgers and a good very good wine list. Its reputation for Sunday lunches is huge – intend to try that next. Starters were different in a very good sense and all our plates were cleaned – already booked for a birthday party in late Dec.

We went as a family group for a Sunday roast. Various meats were selected and all the meals were excellent. I had the beef personally and it was delicious. I can’t find fault with the food at all. The drink prices however for me ruined it. I was charged £23 for a large glass of Sauvignon blanc and a pint of beer which, is for me completely out of kilter with the location. I wouldn’t expect to pay that in London never mind Woodwalton. I do appreciate a house wine was much cheaper, but you can get a reasonably nice Sauvignon blanc bottle for £7-10 in supermarkets so to charge £16 for a large glass is just wrong. And £7 for a pint of beer? Again for me, it’s just too expensive. It’s such a shame because the food was excellent .

I came in alone, looking just for a quick drink as it was a bad day. The barman Kaycee was great, gave me some good advice and made sure I got good drink choices. Couldn't ask for better service.

By far the best resturant we've ever had the pleasure of dinning in! The food was just amazing, the staff so friendly and and THE most welcoming pub/resturant for dogs I've ever experienced. Our room was outstanding with the added bonus of a hot tub, nothing was too much trouble. We stumbled upon this jewel whilst away on a sports trip with the Prison Service....we will be returning a few times next year this time with our dogs! You will not be dissapointed 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Well, what a fantastic find I had booked here because of my husband working in huntingdon. Not only are the staff incredibly friendly, but the food is second to none fantastic quality with a very reasonable price. We stayed in room 11 with hot tub. Yes, I agree with a resonate review that it just needs a tide up, but this didn't affect our stay in any way. We are now staying on for lunch before heading home, and we have also booked the horse box to bring our grandkids to next weekend and can't wait thanks go to Lucy front house and Ross the brilliant chief see you all next week 😀 xx

Visited on Saturday evening and sat outside in the garden and had a bbq sharing platter. It was fantastic and very flavoursome. We both really enjoyed it. Definitely worth a visit.

Always look forward to going to the Dog and Castle. The food is exceptional . A hot day so Eton mess was calling. A real friendly welcome when myself and my daughter arrived for lunch. Spoilt for choice menus but we had BBQ Pork belly bits, Halloumi and sweet Chilli starter nibbles. Really flavoursome. Followed with Battle of the sausage and mash up. The best mash ever. I was hoping Eton mess would be on the desserts and it was. Lovely dessert menu but the Eton mess won out for me. I really cannot find fault with the whole dining experience at the Dog &Castle. Highly recommend.

Amazing roast dinner, one of the best we’ve had. Turkey was melt in the mouth, and the beef had so much flavour. Good choice of veg. but the roast potatoes I need to mention separately, they were on another level! I can’t recommend the food enough and I can totally understand the accolades they have received. Staff are friendly and the place is lovely, we definitely will be back.

The food at the dog and castle is amazing! The staff are so friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough for us. We had the bbq sharing platter for dinner and scrambled eggs for breakfast and everything was really tasty and really reasonably priced. We will definitely be back! Thanks!

Me and my friend had a jacket each, they were massive and great value, we tried to be good but were tempted by the delicious cakes.

Popped in New Years Eve without booking. They offer a table a little later or eat at the bar. We took the latter and enjoyed a super gluten &dairy free fish & chips and vege meal. So great to see dedicated menu for my dietary needs. Super polite and helpful staff, very pleasant venue. We will be back soon!

Called in to have a coffee and hot panini did have a dog no mention of not allowed in the shop until coffee brought over and told to leave!!! staff had seen me with daughter and dog at ordering and again when coffee brought to table then ?manager came over was rude and said we had to go daughter stood out in the rain with dog and manager person took the coffee away to put in takeaway cups Staff disorganised and queuing out of the door as so slow Too many staff and not working together leading to slow service poor granny in a mobility scooter left out in the rain as couldn’t get in to be served Worst coffee I have ever been served totally undrinkable Signage needs to be displayed to make owners aware that dogs are not welcomed and staff need some training about how to be respectful and courteous to customers as the manager was downright rude to us which is totally unacceptable Not a nice experience at all
