This is a gem of a place. Great service, friendly and the roast is superb. The roast pork in particular was absolutely delicious 😋. The portions are very big, tasty and very good quality and value for money. The puds were fab too. All in all, a great lunch in a lovely little venue. Thank you.

Excellent Sunday Lunch, roast beef with all the trimmings. Large portions at reasonable prices. Other options available from the menu too. Good selection of drinks. Excellent friendly service and nothing was too much trouble to make our visit memorable.

We had my son’s 20th birthday drinks and food at the pub yesterday. There were lots of us and the team at The Bell made us so welcome! The pub was busy with another function too, plus lots of people, but they were brilliant and so happy and looked after us very well! They didn’t rush us at all. Food was good and staff always happy and very nice!

What a lovely friendly place. The Sunday roast was excellent. Don’t bother with a starter I had garlic mushroom starter it was a meal on its own. Then the Sunday roast was huge. Rachel was lovely. We will definitely be back, The wine prices were really good.

Fantastic place for a Sunday roast

I had the cottage pie and it was excellent. My family had crispy chilli beef salad and fish fingers chips and peas and chicken and chorizo pie. All were excellent and I recommend this pub to anyone who wants good food at a reasonable price

We called in yesterday evening for some food and a drink. I had a couple of pints of a really nice pale ale and an amazing chicken and chorizo home made pie and chips with veg. The picture says it all!. Delicious!!

Not sure how this restaurant scores so highly, we felt underwhelmed by the food and the atmosphere. Nothing wrong with the service or the staff so maybe we just caught it on an off day

Sunday roast. One beef, one chicken. Both very good. Service was good and everybody was friendly. Definitely recommend.

We had the crispy shredded beef and halloumi salad for starters, both of which were delicious. The shredded beef in particular what exceptional and probably better than any of the Chinese restaurants in the area. For the mains we had the roast dinner, the chicken and beef were very moist, tender and full of flavour. The pork had perfectly cut crackling and again, the meat was perfectly cooked. The roast came with crispy potatoes, red cabbage, carrots, green beans, pig in a blanket and Yorkshire puddings. My only slight negative is that the Yorkshire was slightly doughy for my taste, but overall it was a fantastic meal. This is very much a new favourite of ours and will definitely be coming back.

A beautiful gem of a place - fully invested in the local community and has a really friendly atmosphere. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived in our campervan (they generously let us stay the night in the car park) and had an absolutely fabulous meal with an excellent selection of drinks. Clearly popular with the locals, definitely worth a visit.

Popped into The Bell for lunch with a friend. We ordered bacon, brie & cranberry sandwich and fish finger sandwich. Both came with a pile of chunky gourmet chips and a salad. Delicious and packed full of filling. Service was quick and Rachel, the landlady was lovely. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Friendly welcome and great food! Here’s our reviews: Our party (of 5 plus dog) ordered fish n chips, scampi n chips and pie of the day. All meals were very hot, fresh and delicious. The pastry of the pie was lovely - crisp yet melting. The mash was good and even the broccoli (not my favourite veg) was nice. The fish was perfect - meaty and with great crispy batter. The chips were rather over-salted, but otherwise excellent. There was a huge amount of scampi! The last of us ordered ploughman’s with ham. The rolls were warm and delicious and there was plenty of cheese, salad and coleslaw. We all enjoyed our food and would definitely recommend The Bell.

Thank you Rachael and team for taking care of our wedding celebrations. The Bell offered a perfect space to hold a relaxed wedding reception with a great space for some sunset wedding photos. Rachael checked in with us several times to confirm plans in the run up to the day and was so tolerant of me going back and forth with messages to ask questions or tweak plans. On the day everything ran perfectly and we felt really well looked after with Rachael even making up a plate of food and bringing it over to me to make sure I ate (thank you!). We opted for bbq food and it was perfectly simple and delicious. At the end of the night we were able to head straight off with no stress as Rachael took care of everything and had all our stuff packed up together ready for us to collect the next day which was a huge help. Overall, Rachael and the team were all so welcoming and friendly and made it possible for us to enjoy the evening in the way we hoped to.

Come here when down from Scotland to visit family in the local area. The food is brilliant, great service as well. Highly recommend it, real hidden gem. If anywhere nearby get yourself in for a proper Sunday roast. Probably best to skip breakfast though, portions are huge.

Came here from seeing a vegan food night promoted on their FB page. Glad we made the journey as was a decent vegan friendly meal, served nicely with a Brixton beer on draft. Hooray! Will return

A good mix of traditional pub that also does food. The food is excellent, very tasty, good portions, and well presented. A couple of real ales on as well. An active pub with darts team etc.

Went here because first choice was booked - that is serendipity. The Sunday lunch was wonderful, very generous and well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful and respected my respect for gluten free which was all served with a smile. Definitely want to go back, now my new favourite local.

Great place great food and service

We have just had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Bell. We were a group of 8 and everyone cleared their plates! The pub and restaurant were full but the service was still first class. We live in Great Paxton and in times where pubs are closing their doors in unprecedented numbers, we are delighted at the success of our local village pub. This is largely down to Rachael and her team. They work tirelessly to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We’ll be back again soon!

Always a nice visit, owner a passionate footy fan so there is always a great atmosphere on match day. Really nice food too, and a good kids play area out back.

Came across this pub quite by chance on a midweek break when we wanted to stop somewhere for Lunch. We got a very friendly welcome and the landlady made some recommendations from the menu. Her top recommendation was their home made pies, which my wife selected, and she was not disappointed. I had a ploughman’s which was equally as good. Very much worth a visit if you’re in the area

Reviews looked great. Need a stop in the way. Rang when close and booked a table. Other party travellers where later thanks us. Staff were great and we happy to wait. When the food came it was great. The only negative was it was the lack of customers. Get down here the food and beer are great

Food is nice, woman that works there seems very stressed, came in at 1.15 for lunch there were only 2 other tables there and she seemed very unhappy that we were there stating the pub shuts at 2.30, although hours online say 3, turned away a separate time for lunch at the same time as there were 3 tables there

We found this by accident because first choice was fully booked but this comes into the serendipity genre - loved it. The food was beautifully cooked, just what you would want for a Sunday roast. The veges were obviously freshly cooked just right and gluten free options were available. The service was very friendly and we will definitely go back next opportunity.

A good place to celebrate with friends.

Once again Rachael and her amazing team at The Bell, made our friends and family celebration an evening to remember. It was my niece's 40th birthday and we all had a fantastic day. Rachael was on the go the whole time making sure all the guests had everything they needed. Staff serving the drinks were friendly and efficient. We decided on a BBQ and the food just kept coming. The marquee in the garden is such a bonus as we used it for additional tables and chairs. We had about 120 guests in all. Thank you again to Rachael and her team. Gig

Had our wedding reception here in April. Rachel and her team are incredible no job was to much allowed us to come and go in the week running up to the wedding to alow us to make sure everything we had planned went to plan then on the day absolutely pulled it out the bag. We had our sons 4th birthday party here last weekend and had a fantastic time. We hired out the marquee in the garden and were able to put out lots of toys and games to keep the kids entertained. Rachael and her team put on pizza and chips which went down really well with everyone. It was a great space to hire out for an event and we would recommend to anyone as nothing was too much trouble. Jacob had a brilliant birthday, thanks to all!

Had a great Sunday lunch, four stars only because the lamb was slightly overdone and the staff forgot us a couple of times. But it was rammed busy and our table was booked at 3pm.

We had our daughters Christening reception here today and it was wonderful. The food was beautiful and everything was very reasonably priced. We had so many compliments from our guests. Raqi was a delight and super helpful and nothing was too much trouble including allowing us to come in early this morning to decorate despite having a wedding reception there last night! (it was already clean and tidy ready for us!) She kept in contact in the run up and checked in with us regarding the current renovations (which are coming along nicely and already look great!) we will definitely look to hold another event at The Bell and I'd encourage others to do the same and support this lovely business we will definitely visit again soon to enjoy their great hospitality!

We've just enjoyed a delicious roast dinner, the meat was cooked to perfection and the puddings were just glorious. 8 of us arrived and were taken to our table and the service was quick, drinks brought out more a less instantly after ordering, the food order was quick, albeit the chicken was unavailable but not a problem, these things happen, the children had chicken and chips and fish and chips which were scrummy as empty plates all around (other than my 5 year old he was was full) and pudding was demolished, not needed as the potions of the dinner was huge but you know, you have to try these things and we were not disappointed.... absolutely beautiful chocolate brownie and rice pudding, again did not disappoint. Some things were missing (ran out of chicken goujon) some things were forgotten (extra gravy) but my goodness this place was fantastic, the kids played in the garden and loved it, honestly it was stress free, beautiful, relaxing and just yummy. 5 stars given and deserved, thank you so much, we don't eat out often due to being a big family but this truely was a special treat, thank you. I took my colleagues to the bell for Sunday lunch and I can say it did not disappoint! We were all left in awe at the portion size and that we had a choice of meats, along with this there was great service, a lovely atmosphere and a really reasonable price for such good food! Went to the Bell for lunch today. It was our first visit but certainly won't be our last. Made to feel so welcome by Rachel as soon as we walked in. Service excellent, Food I had was the Red pepper and Tomato soup starter, Sirloin steak (Way too much cracked black pepper), with added king prawns, chips, stilton sauce. I asked for vegtables but didnt really need them as portion size overall was generous. CARE - There is a small step between restaurant and bar, a notice that asks everyone to return glasses, I found to poorly marked step fell hard to my knees, hitting the right side below ribs on nearby wood on chair. The darts match, sorry for disturbance of my fall !! Highly recommended pub, ticked every box. Watch out for that step !!

Organised my dad’s wake at the Bell. Rachel was brilliant throughout, so helpful nothing was too much. I would also recommend the fish finger sandwich, I went the day before to drop off some photos, I will certainly be visiting again when in St Neots!

We stopped off at this pub on a long drive from London to Newark/Coddington, as this was the perfect half way point. It was a very quiet pub with lots of seating and a good menu. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. Really generous portions and tasty too. Would highly recommend it.
