A good mix of traditional pub that also does food. The food is excellent, very tasty, good portions, and well presented. A couple of real ales on as well. An active pub with darts team etc.

Best Sunday Roast I have had for a long time. Not only was the food first class our host, Rachel couldn't do enough for us and the children. Really great day. A big thanks to the whole team. Always a warm welcome mid week lunch is awesome too.

Went here because first choice was booked - that is serendipity. The Sunday lunch was wonderful, very generous and well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful and respected my respect for gluten free which was all served with a smile. Definitely want to go back, now my new favourite local.

Booked for Sunday dinner yesterday for 6 people, arrived earlier than we thought, Raqi and staff were very friendly ,attentive and nothing was too much trouble . Dinner was excellent would highly recommend

Sunday lunch at The Bell, one word….Lush. Top quality food brilliantly cooked by chef Sarah. I’m a bit of a gravy snob, there’s was delicious. We were a group of 5 adults and 3 children, who will definitely be back. Thanks Rachel, Sara & team. 5*

We have just had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Bell. We were a group of 8 and everyone cleared their plates! The pub and restaurant were full but the service was still first class. We live in Great Paxton and in times where pubs are closing their doors in unprecedented numbers, we are delighted at the success of our local village pub. This is largely down to Rachael and her team. They work tirelessly to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We’ll be back again soon!

Always a nice visit, owner a passionate footy fan so there is always a great atmosphere on match day. Really nice food too, and a good kids play area out back.

Came across this pub quite by chance on a midweek break when we wanted to stop somewhere for Lunch. We got a very friendly welcome and the landlady made some recommendations from the menu. Her top recommendation was their home made pies, which my wife selected, and she was not disappointed. I had a ploughman’s which was equally as good. Very much worth a visit if you’re in the area

Reviews looked great. Need a stop in the way. Rang when close and booked a table. Other party travellers where later thanks us. Staff were great and we happy to wait. When the food came it was great. The only negative was it was the lack of customers. Get down here the food and beer are great

Food is nice, woman that works there seems very stressed, came in at 1.15 for lunch there were only 2 other tables there and she seemed very unhappy that we were there stating the pub shuts at 2.30, although hours online say 3, turned away a separate time for lunch at the same time as there were 3 tables there

We found this by accident because first choice was fully booked but this comes into the serendipity genre - loved it. The food was beautifully cooked, just what you would want for a Sunday roast. The veges were obviously freshly cooked just right and gluten free options were available. The service was very friendly and we will definitely go back next opportunity.

A good place to celebrate with friends.

Once again Rachael and her amazing team at The Bell, made our friends and family celebration an evening to remember. It was my niece's 40th birthday and we all had a fantastic day. Rachael was on the go the whole time making sure all the guests had everything they needed. Staff serving the drinks were friendly and efficient. We decided on a BBQ and the food just kept coming. The marquee in the garden is such a bonus as we used it for additional tables and chairs. We had about 120 guests in all. Thank you again to Rachael and her team. Gig

Had our wedding reception here in April. Rachel and her team are incredible no job was to much allowed us to come and go in the week running up to the wedding to alow us to make sure everything we had planned went to plan then on the day absolutely pulled it out the bag. I would highly recommend The Bell and the team for all you wants and needs

We had our sons 4th birthday party here last weekend and had a fantastic time. We hired out the marquee in the garden and were able to put out lots of toys and games to keep the kids entertained. Rachael and her team put on pizza and chips which went down really well with everyone. It was a great space to hire out for an event and we would recommend to anyone as nothing was too much trouble. Jacob had a brilliant birthday, thanks to all!

Had a great Sunday lunch, four stars only because the lamb was slightly overdone and the staff forgot us a couple of times. But it was rammed busy and our table was booked at 3pm.

We had our daughters Christening reception here today and it was wonderful. The food was beautiful and everything was very reasonably priced. We had so many compliments from our guests. Raqi was a delight and super helpful and nothing was too much trouble including allowing us to come in early this morning to decorate despite having a wedding reception there last night! (it was already clean and tidy ready for us!) She kept in contact in the run up and checked in with us regarding the current renovations (which are coming along nicely and already look great!) we will definitely look to hold another event at The Bell and I'd encourage others to do the same and support this lovely business we will definitely visit again soon to enjoy their great hospitality!

We've just enjoyed a delicious roast dinner, the meat was cooked to perfection and the puddings were just glorious. 8 of us arrived and were taken to our table and the service was quick, drinks brought out more a less instantly after ordering, the food order was quick, albeit the chicken was unavailable but not a problem, these things happen, the children had chicken and chips and fish and chips which were scrummy as empty plates all around (other than my 5 year old he was was full) and pudding was demolished, not needed as the potions of the dinner was huge but you know, you have to try these things and we were not disappointed.... absolutely beautiful chocolate brownie and rice pudding, again did not disappoint. Some things were missing (ran out of chicken goujon) some things were forgotten (extra gravy) but my goodness this place was fantastic, the kids played in the garden and loved it, honestly it was stress free, beautiful, relaxing and just yummy. 5 stars given and deserved, thank you so much, we don't eat out often due to being a big family but this truely was a special treat, thank you. I took my colleagues to the bell for Sunday lunch and I can say it did not disappoint! We were all left in awe at the portion size and that we had a choice of meats, along with this there was great service, a lovely atmosphere and a really reasonable price for such good food! Went to the Bell for lunch today. It was our first visit but certainly won't be our last. Made to feel so welcome by Rachel as soon as we walked in. Service excellent, Food I had was the Red pepper and Tomato soup starter, Sirloin steak (Way too much cracked black pepper), with added king prawns, chips, stilton sauce. I asked for vegtables but didnt really need them as portion size overall was generous. CARE - There is a small step between restaurant and bar, a notice that asks everyone to return glasses, I found to poorly marked step fell hard to my knees, hitting the right side below ribs on nearby wood on chair. The darts match, sorry for disturbance of my fall !! Highly recommended pub, ticked every box. Watch out for that step !!

We stopped off at this pub on a long drive from London to Newark/Coddington, as this was the perfect half way point. It was a very quiet pub with lots of seating and a good menu. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. Really generous portions and tasty too. Would highly recommend it.
