Whenever I fancy a decent breakfast to perk me up, I always pop along to the Magno for a fry up. Don't be put off by the 3 star Food Standards Agency hygiene rating - this place is a real gem. Quality food, proper sausages and extremely good value for money. Proper cafes are few and far between but this is my favourite.

Overall very good indeed. Ate here for 5 nights as staying next-door to the Premier Inn. Considering how busy the staff are, they are very friendly. What has let this Restaurant down are the grounds. Bins over flowing and litter everywhere outside.

I haven't been to sir henrys for some time but remember it as a nice place to eat in the summer. This visit was some what different, we were a party of 9, we arrived at 12 to avoid the crowds or so we thought. Within minutes the place was rammed with every table taken. My first thought this must be a very popular place. Before i go any further i just wanted to mention the cost; how can soup of the day cost £7.95? sorry but not paying that even if it does come with a crusty roll. i had the chicken roast, it was very good but woefully lacking in ingredients and lost on the plate!! PS no stuffing as advertised...if you want more it comes at an extra charge, NOBODY likes that right, keep it simple! Drinks come up very pricy even soft drinks and coke comes out of a tap so why so expensive? Which brings me to the fact there is no drinks menu, £9 for a glass of wine, i think not but had to have one as desperate!!. Staff; absolutely wonderful from start to finish, very attentive and helpful (even singing happy birthday to the wife) but ever sensing there was a atmosphere between them maybe. Anyway i wont review the toilets as its an old place and you wouldn't expect much i'm sure as old wood and wee don't mix. to summarise then, it was agreed that we would not be coming back at least until the summer when we have more space and be warmer and don't have to ware our coats inside.

Had a lovely Boxing Day meal for my daughter’s 21st for 19 people. Food was delicious and great value. Staff were all lovely and they even gave her a complementary bottle of Prosecco which was really lovely, Thank you. Venue was cosy and was a great atmosphere.

A truly dreadful experience visiting the Lakeside Wimpy. Rude and inattentive staff, food safety and general hygiene issues, and terrible food. We regularly visit another Wimpy location not too far from this one and always have a wonderful experience. The table service in particular is what Wimpy is known for. Well, not at Lakeside. We were only seated after asking a staff member (there are signs saying you are not to seat yourself). We ordered a chocolate milkshake and a Pepsi float — both were made improperly. We received our food (two original quarter pounders with fries, and a portion of onion rings) fairly promptly. However, despite asking for the burgers well done they were not only not well done, but pink inside. Somehow the food arrived cold — despite being seated about five metres from the kitchen area. We were not provided with cutlery or napkins and, despite asking, still did not receive any (keep in mind this is part of what the Wimpy brand is known for). The serving staff (five young ladies) were gathered around the kitchen area in a circle chatting the entire time we were in there and seemed irritated by customers asking for assistance. I’ve really no issue with them having a conversation, but only if they are still being attentive and doing their jobs. The tables and floor were grimy, and the toilets (both male and female) were beyond filthy and the taps in the male toilets did not work to wash your hands (keep in mind these are the same toilets the staff are using). We did speak with the manager about both the lack of customer service and particularly the issues with our food being undercooked. He was very apologetic, to his credit, but only offered us a measly 10% discount on our order. We will not be visiting Wimpy Lakeside again. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Just a arrived home after our breakfast at Harvester. Grays As normal food was great The atmosphere is just brilliant and service always done with a smile and very efficient. Hope all harvesters have a JAMES KAREN and JOVITA All three are just brilliant and a credit to Harvester. Can see why the Harvester Grays is always busy. Chris Murphy

We decided to give this place another try after a disappointing dinner in 2024. While there have been some improvements, it’s still far from becoming a favorite of ours for food. The service remains painfully slow, especially on a busy, sunny Saturday, and the food is underwhelming. I ordered the sausage and mash, but the presentation was unappealing—everything seemed to be drowning in gravy. The sausages were overcooked and burned, as was my husband’s Wagyu burger. To top it off, no sauces were offered, which only added to the overall disappointment. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t live up to expectations.

Booked on line for Sunday Roast for 18:00 and my on line order was accepted. However, when we arrived 17:50 for our 18:00 booking, all the Carvery had been removed and the area completely tided and cleaned, so obviously removed some time prior. Told when meat runs out we shut the Carvery, but when I went on line at 17:30 to book the carvery, booking that was accepted, I was not informed there was no carvery left, so no roast dinner. Why was my booking for a Sunday Roast accepted at 17:30 if Carvery already cleared away.

Disappointed with my afternoon tea. Sandwiches and cakes ok - but pricey for what it was. What was most disappointing was the tea. Teapots did not pour correctly resulting in tea pouring all over the white tablecloths! One refill pot of tea looked like dishwater - turns out the waitress said oh it might have been decaf tea, which we hadn’t asked for. The tea was replaced with a much better pot of tea, but they omitted to supply more milk with it which we had to get up and ask for. Overall not pleased with the afternoon tea. I shan’t be booking afternoon tea there again.
