Me, my partner and my mother in law we went today for Sunday Easter lunch, all I can say the food was great and our table server was great too and at the end we tip our waitress, but I need to point it out something while we were there…we were seated by the door entrance next to the bar and there was a lady with blonde hair and glasses working behind the bar as soon we seated my boyfriend moved my chair to seat me down and he does that all the time to me which is nice having a boyfriend like that anyway this lady said to him in front of us “can I just say it that was really cute” on that I didn’t take particular attention, and than she started to stare at him all the time like a girl that has a heavy crush on somebody, and she was keep checking on him, honestly It wasn’t comfortable for him but also wasn’t comfortable for me, bless him at some point he was staring his plate because he didn’t wanted to disrespected me, all I can say is you can tell everything about her as a person that was really disrespectful and also I didn’t find this professional at all, and we left in a rush because of that lady I was so close to say something because that was really upsetting me and ruined our Easter Lunch. Unbelievable never expected something like this at the Whitmore.

Had a lovely experience with two friends at the Whitmore with the food being great and the service too. As a vegetarian I had the Vegetable Wellington with creamy mashed potato and it was so tasty, can't wait to have it again! We hadn't been there for a long time because of mixed reviews from friends but will now certainly tell those friends to give it another go. Thank you for making my birthday even more special.

This was a very pleasing experience having had a very disappointing one at a different venue a week earlier. The food was cooked and presented in a first class way, very enjoyable. Seemed to be home cooked food presented nice and hot.Young lady waitress very attentive and provided very good service. Venue throughly reccommended.Ordered sea bass and salmon wellington.

Just been for lunch where we was offered the main menu, specials and a two course early bird menu. The food was delicious, I also had the apple and caramel tart with rum and raisin ice cream which was absolutely delicious. Good value for money and very friendly staff, also dog friendly x

Only 2 staff on, one new that evening and tried his best but no help from other member of staff. Lots of items on menu unavailable and food nothing special. We arrived at 7pm served about 7.30 pm and by 8.30 the pub was empty. Tables were cleaned around us and by 9pm we were made to feel we needed to vacate our table because we were the only ones in the pub. No one asked if we would like coffee or another drink. This use to be a thriving pub and always full what has gone wrong. No atmosphere of a village pub, management take note. Will not be retuning in a hurry.

Cleared everything around us and made to feel we had to leave as the only customers at 9pm. No atmosphere of a village pub as in past. Will not be returning in a hurry .

My daughter and I came to your pub for a Sunday roast @ 1pm. On arrival the pub was only half full. Waited nearly an hour for just a simple roast dinner. The roast beef was disgusting!! The beef was chewy and grissly ( we couldn’t eat it!) and curling up as though it had been re-heated in the microwave. Lots of staff floating around but non attentive. Then we was forgotten about for another 40/50 minutes. No one asked us about dessert? Then finally after asking a member of staff for the bill, the icing on the cake was the card machine didn’t work. After waiting another half an hour we managed to find the cash between us. Spoke to a member of staff about the food and she came back with a sorry,….. no offering of a discount!! Or even a complimentary dessert or drink. Wont recommend your pub to friends of family.

Had my birthday and my dads 80th on 22nd of March , there were 10 of us amazing food , lovely waitress’s and Ben the manager was fantastic, great atmosphere, i definitely recommend this wonderful place .

Went for lunch on Saturday as had been previously and really enjoyed the food. This visit was just as good. The food is always plentiful and tasty and it is reasonably priced.

The Whitmore Arms never disappoints the food on this occasion was excellent 5stars plus the service was absolutely fantastic nothing to much trouble and very patient as one of our party was running a little late but we were not rushed and were left allow and our drinks were kept topped up when we asked and a good time between courses and the atmosphere was perfect and really fantastic meal and fabulous experience for our birthday celebrations thank you I was travelling from Leicestershire to family but I have great memories of Orsett thank you so much

We sat down at 14:00 ordered starter and two mains 15:15 main course arrived no starter not very good

I was in there very recently I went for the chilli prawns to start and too say I was disappointed is a understatement, they were small i imagine out of a bag in the freezer, these were on the “ specials “ menu certainly nothing special about them or all 7 of them or the 2 large pieces of garlic bread, and for £9 I thought very expensive enough said about them, I had fish and chips it was haddock fried in batter it was lovely along with chips, nice size fish along with the chips , £17 I thought was good value, I then had the apple pie with custard I imagine not homemade but it was lovely with the custard, I had good recommendations for this pub/ restaurant all in all I’d certainly go back but wouldn’t order the chilli prawns again

Just returned from a very dissapointing meal. Had originally dined for the first time on Monday 23rd December and was extremely impressed. My husband had the mix grill and it was plentiful to say the least, and well cooked. So impressed we decided to visit again today. Wgat a kettle down. I had the duck salad.... the dark was so over cooked, it was so tough abd very hard going to chew. My husband had the mux grill, what a shock. Some items missing from the plate, and the size of the meal was so small. Very poor quality of meat, and the presentation was non existent. Very very dissapointed. The beer was a tad cloudy and tasted off

Regular Sunday pint with mates we didn't even move off the table today, Liza table service was amazing like being at a five star restaurant having your glass topped up and even through we were only drinking and the front restaurant was business we still got looked after so well, just wanted to say thank you. Gooner the dog even got a water bowl and a pigs ear, great pub great people.

We booked the Whitmore Arms for our annual staff festive lunch. The variety was good and the quality fab. All dishes were well portioned. Staff and service was great. Definitely recommend a visit

Had a sunday lunch here. Was not impressed. Staff not good. I had roast turkey, yorkshire pudding hard and my turkey grisly. Menu said starter was gravalax salmon and when arrived just smoked salmon. Also what pub doesnt have ginger ale to go with whiskey

Brilliant, they had a swarm of Christmas parties but squeezed us in for a table at lunch, that said our service was great, food superb and we thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you to Lisa and the lunch time crew, see you again soon

We had read the reviews here so had high expectations. 4 family members for lunch. Starters - soup was carrot and cumin - a little too spicy for my cousin. Prawn cocktail and pate very good. Camembert bites with salad and cranberry tasty but not really cheesy as expected. Mains - fish & chips and liver and bacon was nice. Vegetables overcooked, grey and not appetising so they were left. My partners sea bass was good but the sauce was not great - wishing he had not poured it all over😕 I had ham egg & chips - ham was shown on menu as home cooked - it was processed and had no flavour. The egg was oily ( sadly on top of the cold ham so not great) egg was over cooked and hard. 3 of us had chunky chips and all 3 felt undercooked. 1 knickerbocker glory (ok) & 1 lemon meringue pie ( factory made) strawberry sauce and ice cream was good though. Service was great. 2 bottles of Pinot Grigio and a pint of bitter shandy £167. Was sad that our experience was not great as we always like to support local independent businesses but they’ve got to do better.

We met my Brother and Sister in Law for lunch at The Whitmore Arms. They traveled from Faversham in Kent and we came from Leigh on Sea - so a good half way house! An what a smashing meal we had! Not just your pub grub! Different choices - beautifully cooked and served by a charming lady! They made us very welcome even though they were having electrical works being carried out in the main area. Will come again - worth the drive for all of us! Thanks!

We had not been here for a few years so I read some reviews before we booked. There were some negative reviews but we booked anyway. We eat out quite a lot this was good meal that all four of us enjoyed good service reasonable price. It's not like the old days there but what is anywhere we would go again.

Food was amazing, Lisa gave good advice on the desert and was all round a good experience, will 100% go again

Disappointing meal. Shepherds pie - mash had turned to mush been cooking too long. Liver & Bacon - over cooked liver, dry and like shoe leather. Too much bacon. Vegetables were under cooked, not al dent even at all.

First time visiting since new management. Staff very polite and friendly. Food outstanding. Came home and rebooked for next week.

Our food was simple and piping hot which was great. It feels a little bit cramped, too close to other diners and the chairs aren't overly comfortable.

went to the whitmore arms for a birthday meal sat in the bay window waitresses couldn’t do enough for us especially elsie and sam service was great we had a fantastic time the seafood thermidor and mixed grill was amazing they really made dads birthday a special day hadn’t been for about 4 years we can see all the improvements they have been making and we will be back soon booking for sunday roast next week would definitely recommend

My dining experience at the whitmore arms in orsett was nothing short of excellent. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Our server went above and beyond, offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring our every need was met without being intrusive. As for the food, it was simply outstanding. For starters the arancini was just out of this world and for main the seafood Thermidor was perfectly prepared, with fresh, vibrant seafood which included cod, prawns and scallops the flavours exceeded expectations. And they was not stingy on the seafood!!! Every course was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. Combined with the top-notch service, this was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!"

Great services by the friendly staff even on a busy Saturday evening. Food was great as always. Had the scallops in white wine and Parmesan sauce - great. Had the salmon main which was beautiful and my wife and I shared a dessert. Be back again soon.

Had a family meal there but wasn't really happy as the food was served up barely warm, the vegetables were just peas and carrots (not much selection) and the desserts were very small portion size.... As if they were just tasters 🙁 also I didn't really like the fact that the waitresses were just standing about watching people eat their meals. We have used this venue numerous times and always had lovely hot cooked delicious meals but I don't think we'll be rushing to use it again.... Very disappointed 🙁.

Excellent food and lovely menu choice. Have eaten here several times and the consistancy and quality is always the same.

Staff just stood there had glasses on the table which they did not collect until asked , when we asked to be sat someone else as it was a squished table the man was stroppy . Poatoes were rock solid unable to cut through . Pork was chewy and beef was full of fat . Incorrect Bill. Will not be returning .

Nice food but very busy and quite noisy and tsbles quite close to one another. . Food took an hour to arrive from ordering. Staff are very pleasant and did apologise for the delay. Food was hot on arrival and portion sizes were good. I frequented this pub some 50 years ago, and much is still the same in layout and facilities. I would return but not regularly.

First time at The Whitmore Arms for quite some time. Ford was really very good, scampi and chips and Jerk Chicken were our meals this evening. The portion sizes were good, quality of the food was excellent. The service was polite friendly and relaxed, just as you would want. Wow - will be returning to this little gem of a pub! We‘ve just had an amazing Sunday lunch at a pub I’ve driven past on many occasions but never been in. The staff are welcoming and helpful, the decor is lovely and the food was fantastic. Compliments to the chef for the beef roast (huge Yorkshire puddings 🥳), Cajun chicken, duck salad and lamb. Remember to leave room for dessert! Looking forward to booking again and enjoying a great atmosphere. Compliments to all the staff.

Booked a table for a quick evening meal at The Whitmore Arms. Lovely welcome from Lisa on entering the pub. Ordered our food.....Brie for a starter and Lasagne for my main course. My friend had prawn cocktail for starter and fish with chips/peas for his main course. Food was lovely with exceptional service from Lisa who is always so friendly and professional. Really enjoyed our evening. Thank you.
