Excellent and the food is amazing.

The fleet is a fantastic pub, dermot is amazing and his staff are always helpful and friendly I have been coming here for years and always had the best nights and Sunday lunches too, it’s a little hidden back from the road but if your looking for a relaxed place to drink and meet people, then you won’t be disappointed, and also this is a great venue to hire for private function once inside you see just how big it is.

The fleet is my 'go to' for venue hire for family events... always spot on with food and entertainment and you won't get a better host than Dermot. The place is much bigger than it looks from the outside, gives punters the choice of a quiet pint out the way or at the bar where there is always people wiling to chat.

What a fantastic find!! Lovely pub, food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, we went for Sunday lunch and the portion sizes were big. It was all perfectly cooked. Now I'm fussy about roast potatoes and these were delicious. The roast beef was mouthwatering and tender. I had calamari to start, massive portion and finished with a home cooked apple and rhubarb crumble with custard. Incredible. The service was brilliant, the staff were all so warm, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Most of the week it seems people come and go , having one or two drinks . So nothing new there then . But on Sundays this pub transforms into a very good gastro venue . The dining area holds maybe forty people ? So phone in advance . The Sunday roasts are delicious ! But have that home made feel about them . A little known gem is this place !

Resubmission as owner seems confused! I first looked at the website to see the menu and found it didn’t seem to have one! I contacted the venue via their “contact us” link on the page to ask for a menu as we were planning to visit for lunch Saturday. He replied with a menu for world’s end which confused me. I looked again at the website and on “book” link it showed table availability for lunch on Saturday. We arrived at around 1400 to see a few cars in the car park, (on closer examination they turned out to be derelict). Approaching the door it was locked! Sign saying opening hours, showing it didn’t open until later on a Saturday. If the website allows bookings I naively expect it to be open. Owner re e mailed me implying my review was inaccurate so I told him it wasn’t and asked him not to contact me again, so put e mail address into junk, so no idea if they have responded again contrary to my request. If your website is giving inaccurate info update it!

Lovely place. Good vibes and very nice staff with good food

Don't judge this place by the way it looks. Went for Sunday dinner and the food was good with big generous portions. Staff are really lovey and nice. Will be going back when we are in the area again.

My Granddaughters 16th birthday party was held here. Very large area to hire with outside space as well. Extremely clean toilets. Lovely bar staff. Excellent all round. Can’t comment on food as that was our own. Would highly recommend holding your event at this venue.

I enjoyed it very much. . First visit for many a year but much improved 😃. Great bar staff as well.

Arrived to a run down disgusting pub. Torn seats, dirty tables, dodgy smells and local alcoholics who were part of the furniture. Regrettably opted for the Sunday dinner. Vegetable selection was basic, meat was dry and it was missing vital parts of a Sunday dinner e.g stuffing and cauliflower cheese. Heard from the toothless bar lady that the usual chef wasn’t working on that particular day, I think her dog must of came in to cover for her. Wouldn’t return.

Shepherds pie was cold in the middle, and the waitress argued with us, saying it was hot because the dish was warm. We put a finger in the middle, and it was barely warm. My mash, which was apparently cooked the day before, had gone off. When I ate a mouthful, it tasted bitter, and my throat started burning....The half of chicken was just a piece of thigh... Roast dinner came out cold! The waitress was very unprofessional and rude.

If I could give over the 5 stars I would . This place is amazing . We held my best friends graduation party here last week and what a party it was , the staff were not only great but they made the party amazing ! Dermot was brilliant at helping us set up the whole event , nothing was too much and he was so helpful. A lovely lady behind the bar ( I didn’t manage to get her name ) was so lovely and great with the children. A special mention to shorty , this lady is amazing , she took photos and videos for us on the night that we wouldn’t have captured ourselves , she joined in and was so much fun , not many places you get that any more. She was so happy and you could tell she loved her job and what she does. Everyone loved her energy. We also went to their Easter event today for the children and again what an amazing time, the kids loved it ! Shorty was great at entertaining the kids and to see all the effort that was put into it was incredible , all for free aswell ! I love that the place is so child friendly too and the space is fab . Sorry for the long post but honestly couldn’t rate it enough, highly recommended . Thankyou x

Lovely Sunday roast, meat was very good quality, good choice of vegetables all cooked just right. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud spot on. Fantastic value.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be returning again. There is plenty of car parking very close by.

Attentive staff and very good food

We held our Mum’s 99th Birthday party at The Fleet, and the staff were so welcoming and professional, and the Food was really nice and good value. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we hope to come back again soon.

Good honest food at reasonable prices. On the 7.10.22 they played host to our mums 99th birthday dinner. All 38 guests had pre- chosen their meal order and the food was served to the right guests all hot and tasty

Wow not what we expected plain and simple But food really tasty beyond expectation for location They also sell my partners favourite Cider on draught Inches and Magners what a Gem of a find!

Was surprised to find this gem! Drinks under £4 for inch’s cider. Burger was juicy and fries moorish! The staff on was efficient and attentive. Can’t fault the Fleet. It deserves to have more local support!

This is a nice pub, freindly staff. Pretty big, pool table, outside area front and back and a fairly big car park

Fleet is ok good beer 🍺 never eaten here so can't comment on that Friendly staff good place to chill over a cold one with mates but not a place to take the family out for a evening

Spotlessly clean. Monthly Ladies Shopping Market is great & you get a free cocktail on arrival

Food and service excellent and a very friendly Irish landlord proper god pub

Roast dinner was nice, place wasn't too busy and staff happily opened the doors to allow fresh air in when asked to. Desserts were boring and old fashioned, so I skipped those, but was a nice meal.

Fantastic place and the landlord is a true gentleman. The food was great (Minced beef pie just like my mam used to make) If you are in the area don't hesitate to go to the Fleet you will not be disappointed 👍

Very friendly staff. Food is typical pub grub but reasonably priced and sizeable portions. Good alternative to restaurants at Lakeside as only a short drive from the shopping centre.

This is an excellent choice for good value home cooking food. Good disabled access and free parking. Staff very friendly. Always good food.

Me my mum and son went for dinner at the weekend our first time out in months due to lockdown we had a lovely evening and felt very safe being there there is so much space that keeping a distance from others is not a problem. Food was amazing and very good price and portion size was great. We was made very welcome and will definitely be going back soon. Would highly recommend it and the outdoor areas are very nice if you go on a sunny day or evening.

Not a bad little place to have a drink and a bite to eat. Food is your typical run of the mill pub food at ok prices. Staff are very friendly and courteous and generally quick to serve unless there's a local pub quiz or an event on. We had a very good Christmas Day meal there a few years ago which was priced very reasonably. Would benefit from seeing the river as it's so close by. For better views visit the Royal Hotel further into Purfleet

We were at a party held here, drinks were nicely priced, staff weren't visible unless there was a queue and a hotel style bell was used to call them over. Didn't use the restaurant so can't comment there. The bathrooms weren't the worst but the baby change was squashed into a cubicle, it was half over the toilet and very cold. Not the worst pub I've been to but not exactly the best either

I ate hear a couple of nights while in the area for work. I ate in the restaurant, the menu wasn’t huge but the food was good. First time I had burger and chips off the menu, second night I had sweet chilli chicken kebabs, with chips and salad of the specials board. The burger was a tad dry but tasty, and good value. The kebabs were delicious and again good value. Would recommend especially in the quieter evenings if you want something quick and tasty.

Holly, Lauren, Mandy the Cook and all the bar staff, who worked above and beyond to give our family a fantastic day to remember! Nothing was too much trouble, the Staff, Food and Family friendly atmosphere was brilliant. All our family remarked on what a beautiful day we all had. Visited The Fleet for dinner on a Saturday as we were staying at the nearby Premier Inn. The lady running The Fleet was very accommodating and friendly. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was lovely and homecooked. This was a large pub with restaurant, clean toilets and lots of parking. We will definitely come back.

Having checked when booking the table which meats were served for Sunday lunch. We arrived to find only Beef and Lamb on the menu not chicken as we had been told. A number of us don’t eat red meat so this was a major problem. So we had to order from normal menu. One of our party ordered pate as a starter only to be told it wasn’t available. The food arrived it was ‘OK’ nothing out of the ordinary. Service was haphazard. I wouldn’t go there again for a Sunday Lunch.

I went here for a meal with my Swim Group Waders. They provided 2 long tables for the group which was good. The Food was very good,even though myself and others had to wait while they caught our fish😬It was very nice fish and the batter was delicious. The service was very good and the place has a nice atmosphere. I think we would all agree that we had a lovely lunch and will definitely go there again.😬

Not much of a view but beer garden, staff and fellow drinkers were nice and welcoming

They will always try to accommodate you even if you need a last minute booking. We have been there many times and have not been disappointed. Staff great and food good and nicely presented. It is not high class cuisine but easy tasty food. Their last sitting in the week is 6pm.

Who knew! I thought it would be one of those beefeaters or harversters microwave meals...no!! it is cooked and presented and tastes great!

No music, even just something for background noise.

Organised a group lunch here today after visiting the Royal Opera House workshops nearby. Dermot and the team looked after us very well. The service was excellent and Terry, the chef is a master in the kitchen. We were very impressed with our visit
