Casco Lounge in Thurrock

This place is fantastic. Standout customer service from staff, delicious menu, excellent range of drinks available. Good for mains and drinks as well as coffee and cake. Spacious with interesting decor. Very affordable prices too. Can get a bit noisy, and sometimes feels poorly lit, and chairs are a hodgepodge so some more comfortable than others but there are a few sofa seats, and every time we’ve been we’ve enjoyed ourselves. Overall, feels very inclusive and welcoming.

My dish was meant to have pickled onions in it but arrived with raw onions instead. When i brought this to server's attention (the one with half a head of red hair), she made up a story about how it is how they prepare their pickled onions. I picked one slice up to show her it was dry and hadn't ever been in any vinegar. I even offered to show her a picture from google of what pickled onions look like. She started getting rude to me, even though it is not a crime to not know what pickled onions look like. She must have thought BS'ing me would work and most definitely took me for someone who wouldn't know what i was talking about. I would have been appreciative and taken the opportunity to learn if i were her. I insisted that what i had wasn't the dish on the menu so she storms of the kitchen and brings me a bowl of pickled onions, which she places next to my salad with raw onions. What made it worse was instead of apologising for the kitchen error, for her ignorance, for doubting me, for her arrogance to learn, and not replacing my salad, she dug the hole deeper with some story about the closeness of both items in the kitchen. I didn't ask for the why, nor any excuse and a sensible service would have been to take my wrong salad away as mistakes are human, and bring the right salad. Instead it was one faux-pas after another. The avocado was also unripe but i would have eaten it anyway. Terrible service is just not on. My date was also ruined as I sat and waited for my partner to finish his english breakfast, so i could go eat eslewhere. I am glad i didn't even try his dish, as he got food poisoning for days from it. We will not be returning there again even though it held a special place as it was where we had our 1st date. We can't pay for rubbish service and food poisoning from a fry up :(

Had a lovely brunch here. SO impressed with the amount of gluten free options available thought the menu. Staff were lovely and the restaurant had a really chilled atmosphere. Will definitely visit again!

Advertised on a facebook event page that a quiz night was happening tonight and my mum asked if i wanted to go with her but when turning up they said it wasn't happening and was only once a month but the venue was advertising weekly events on there facebook page which was disappointing, so didn't get a drink as planned and just left as it was false advertising and misleading

Not the best of the Lounges chain. Orletto Lounge in Basildon and Salero Lounge in Maldon are my preferred choices. Today our food just didn't cut the mustard. The lounge breakfast, garlic and parmesan wings and calamari were all overcooked. Had all of these dishes at the other lounge restaurants with no problems at all, so it's not the food quality that's the issue but the chef. Service wasn't great either. Wasn't particularly busy in there today but we wasn't greeted to be sat. We stood and waited for 10 minutes and nobody came over to us. We have visited before, so we just sat down like we know to but for someone new, this may have been enough to just leave. Food took a while to come out, especially the dessert. I ordered the desserts separately, just a slice of banoffee cheesecake and some churros. These took about 25 minutes to come out. Seemed like forever. No beer on tap available and no diet coke either. Was a bit of a poor experience today.

Went for lunch. It wasn't busy so we got a table straight away. We ordered the mixed starters and some additional chips. Service was good and friendly

We had dinner at Casco Lounge, they have a kids menu - this includes a drink a little pot of hummus and carrot / bread sticks if they want as well as the meal itself. Meals are ordered via QR code on table or at bar, and you pay before the food comes. Adult meals were about £16 each, so perhaps just a little above average maybe - I thought my meal was OK as did my wife. Kids were not keen on theirs (fish fingers - she just didnt like them / mac n cheese - too cheesy he said) but that's likely to be because my kids are fussy! They also had some colouring in they could do whilst waiting, and my daughter also coloured in some pretend glasses which she then wore all the way home! The cafe / restaurant was nicely decorated and the seats were comfy. We also felt comfortable taking the kids here which is the biggest win. It's also worth mentioning that my wife got a cherry bakewell cocktail (unfortunately I was driving), and she said she would most likely come back just to try more cocktails as the one she had was particularly nice!

Absolute disgraceful staff, went out of their way to ignore us. My wife sold this to me on the back of the basildon one which had great staff. We had people joining us and they ignored us deliberately.

Very light yet vibrant ambiance , next to lake with a nice buzz around. Staff is extremely friendly. Reasonable prices and plenty veggies options. This is our go to place for chill out and relax.

Casco Lounge offers a decent English breakfast, though it has some shortcomings. The meal included only one piece of toast and lacked flexibility in swapping items. The mushrooms were boiled instead of fried, which was disappointing. Additionally, the staff did not follow the orders exactly, leading to some mistakes at our table. Overall, the experience was just okay.

Very unique setting, great food, and excellent service from the 2 ladies. My only complaint is that food portions are quite small for me. However, I may be a special case being 6ft 2 and 106kg. I usually order 2 mains when I eat out as that's about enough for me to be satisfied, so this time, I ordered the coconut chicken curry and the chilli beef brisket. Both dishes were delicious, especially the chilli beef brisket, I should've just gotten 2 of that as it was that good but after realising I spent about £28 on 2 mains I was still only about a 5/10 on being satiated with my meal. My girlfriend came to eat with me too. She's 5ft 3 and 55kg, and she ordered the bang bang chicken noodles, and she also thought her portion was quite small too, especially for £15. She, however, was satiated just enough after her meal. If the food portions were about 33% bigger, I'd then really recommend this place as it's a really cool and unique setting with delicious food, it's just a shame that you might need to spend a lot more to be sully satisfied with your meal out. But then again, I understand I'm not built like the regular average person, so these issues may not be encountered unless you're someone similar to my size and stature.

Can always rely on Casco for a lovely brunch or main and drinks. Easy to get to and park near M n S.

Lovely place inside however food not great. Looks good but doesn't taste good. Hot chocolate had barely any hot chocolate in it. Smashed avocado was ok. Tomato's very wet and soggy. Milkshake also very milky and barely any ice cream in it.

I’m coeliac and I always feel safe dining there the gluten free options are good the atmosphere in there is good and the staff and service are excellent.

We have been coming here for over 2 years and the staff work really hard and are always helpful and friendly. We took our dog there this afternoon and Claire bought him his puppychino and he loved it!! We will definitely continue our frequent visits. Thank you to all the staff and Claire xx

Been a regular here for more than five years now and it’s just the best restaurant/bar in Thurrock. Such chilled vibes with the best service around. You never leave without having a good laugh with them and the food is immaculate. It’s mine and my mate’s local and that’ll never change. HIGHLY recommended 👌🏻👌🏻

Visited on Bank Holiday Monday. It was busy and we were told about 30 minute wait for a table. In fact, we only had to wait 10 minutes. We choose the 3 tapas plates x 2 as well as pitta bread and drinks. Service and food was good

Great place for a solid yet tasty lunch. There are a wide range of products on the menu to choose from. I had the tuna melt with chips which was very nice. Will recommend

Went here today to grab breakfast before the 11.00 opening of the shops to miss the traffic queues. Excellent choice of food and drinks - if you cannot find something you like on the menu here I can’t believe it. Friendly quick service and would highly recommend. Opens from 9.00 on a Sunday so perfect.

Exceptional service and satisfying cuisine. Our experience, from arrival to ordering and dining, was superb. We visited with our children and highly recommend this establishment.

Really happy with the food and the service here. When we arrived the staff apologised and said there might be a slight wait for food but our food arrived really quickly. The staff were so friendly and kind I would definitely come back here.

We struggled to find anywhere to eat in Lakeside. Our son said try here as he's been to one in Bournemouth and said it's good. I can't tell you the number of times we have walked past it but didn't think it was a restaurant. Anyway we went in, front of house staff we friendly. I had poached eggs with bacon and they were cooked perfectly. We had a quick lunch but we will come again.

Slightly disappointing - my daughter and I had 'Rosie's Truffle Chicken'. While is tasted really nice, the portion was very small, really only enough for a starter. Everything else was fine but, because of this, I wouldn't go again.

Went last night with my friend lovely meal staff very friendly and helpful.was going to have desert but no ice-cream but other wise great evening.

I came here last weekend with my wife, the food seemed to be ok but visually it looked like my burger had been thrown against a wall before putting it on my plate and serving it. Around 10 mins into our meal, I started to feel extremely ill, I then had to run to the restaurant toilet to be violently sick. In all fairness to the restaurant manager, he did refund my meal and his customer care was great, but there is clearly some sort of food contamination or unclean kitchen.

Second time we’ve been, first time we popped in because we couldn’t find anywhere else to eat, but we absolutely loved it and came back to lakeside specifically for this restaurant and we will be back again. Food is amazing, staff are friendly and I love their watermelon ice tea!

Another great visit to the Casco Lounge at Lakeside. Such a great atmosphere. The burgers are to die for, truly the best. Had a few pints of Cruzcampo, nice beer. As mentioned in a previous review, the toilets are upstairs, but there is a toilet downstairs for those with mobility issues. Great restaurant with excellent service delivery.

First time came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Five stars for great atmosphere, inviting decor, speedy service, quality of food, courteous staff. Excellent range of choices across vegetarian and vegan dishes, mocktails, milkshakes and drinks.

Love it there. Been going before I had a baby and after and now with a toddler the team has always been super accommodating. The food never disappoints and the service is always great . Also allowed dogs which is amazing

Visited in June & November 2023 for brunch and breakfast. One of the few open-air cafes/restaurants in the area, that serves breakfast food. When the weather is decent eat outside and when not retreat to the stunning interior seating. You both order and pay (in advance) at the bar/counter. Service, food and price are decent, and I have no issue recommending.

First time I've been here and will definitely 100% will be back. The food is wonderful and full of flavor I could eat it all over again. The staff are really friendly. The decorations where really cool hanging stars from the ceiling. Really good prices. Clean and tidy. Can't wait to I come back.

Very nice food. Staff really friendly. Catered for a vegan and a gluten free vegetarian well. Table for 4 very generous for space though the restaurant is quite loud when busy.

My husband and I met with 8 friends last Saturday for a Christmas lunch. We had the 3 course set meal which was really good value for money. We had the sharing starters which were really lovely, lots of small dishes, each one quite flavoursome. I had the Turkey & Ham Pie for main and my husband had the Vegetarian burger, again both we felt were good. The atmosphere during lunch was festive and ight, we hadn't seen each other as a group for some time and we were all excited to be back together. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable and the service of the staff was attentive but not intrusive. We had a thoroughly excellent afternoon, so much so that I had no room for dessert!

Absolutely fabulous decor. A well varied menu at good prices. The Lounge cheeseburger with bacon is superb. Nice selection of beers, really like the Cruzcampo. The restaurant is large but has a very welcoming atmosphere. The toilets are upstairs, but there is a disabled toilet and baby change downstairs. The staff are super friendly and give fantastic service delivery and that is why I am a regular customer. Well done everyone, superb. The service delivery today (5/12) has been truly excellent.

Went with my teenage granddaughter. Lovely atmosphere, service excellent. We both throughly enjoyed our meal. Went on a Sunday, for lunch. Would recommend.

First time visiting. Ordered a fry up. Great food which came out quick. Lovely service from one girl in particular, unfortunately didn't get her name. Only complaint is that it's really quite dark in there and the music was too loud but would definitely visit again.

Nice place, good atmosphere, staff are nice also the food is quite nice would recommend the tapas. Especially the house made hummus was 10/10 a couple of negative notes to add though the portion of coleslaw served with the burgers was an insult was like a tea spoon worth don't understand why so stingee with the coleslaw they can knock up a giant tub worth of the stuff for around £2-3 worth of ingredients if that. If I'm paying over £15 feed me more coleslaw. Made me think not to order again. Also my wife had to take back her £10 cocktail because it wasn't no where near enough alcohol in it tasted very bland. Fix these issues and it would be a 5* star place in my opinion.

We came here after a day shopping and reviews looked good, so must say I was disappointed when we came. It was Saturday evening but not too busy. Staff were friendly enough, explained the service and seating all well. The place itself is very cool, quite different with different seating around and the decor is very nice. Sadly the food let the place down. We only got tapas and a couple of sides, but it wasn't good. I think the portion size was very small (even for tapas). I think the quesadilla was the smallest I've ever seen and the filling was probably about a teaspoon of ingredients. Also the food didn't taste very good. I've seen a lot of positive reviews so I assume this isn't the usual experience, but sadly was for us. I'd come back to try something else but will see what that brings.

Absolutely love this place! The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is lovely and they are great at making adjustments to their menu if requested. Definitely my favourite hang out.. Came here for lunch with my mum, monday and was greeted by very friendly staff. Romany showed us to our table and explained everything. Every member of staff were very helpful and welcoming. Food was incredible and drinks were delicious, Will definitely be going back.

Amazing!!! We came to celebrate my dad’s Bday. I told one of the bar tenders and he kindly offered a cake with a candle to bring it as a surprise at the end of our meal. The food was amazing, and the price is very affordable. All the staff came out to sing happy bday to my dad, cannot express how lovely and caring everyone was during our whole meal.

Always good quality food and healthy portions here. It’s quite expensive but you do get what you pay for. Service is good with lots of vegan options. Dogs also welcome with their own menu! Keep returning here when in the area.

Went midweek in the middle of the day, so not much atmosphere, but it was still a little bubbly. However, I can not stand when you are in a restaurant and they tell you they have run out of an essential item. So in this case, no rum meant a big chunk of their cocktail menu was out of bounds. The food was meh. Good but not mmmmmmmmm. Same with the service.... Actually, the wine glasses (the sad substitute for a cocktail) they brought were absolutely filthy, I should really mark the service a 2, but it feels unkind.

Food was cold and over cooked. Manager was very good about it and had food replaced by fresh order. Will definitely not be going back.

I ordered the beef brisket with rice. The dish, quite small for its price, seems to have sitting around in the kitchen for some time and simply reheated and served. Taste wasn't that great either.

Table wasn't clean and food was taken to the wrong table before finding its way to us.

Absolutely loved this place. Great vibe, the staff were very accommodating, and the order and pay by the app is addictive! I ended up ordering several times, and had the lovely pancake shot. I also had the tapas board, which was delicious along with the garlic bread. The decor is gorgeous and we had a lovely time for a birthday dinner.

The atmosphere is fantastic spacious and many decorations makes the place feels inviting. The service is a bit slow start, had to wait few minutes to be seated and not busy at all. I could only see one staff doing all the work and she was working hard trying her best running about until she ask her colleague to serve us. I had their lounge breakfast and I really enjoyed it very much. Definitely will come back to this place.

We celebrated our son's 10th birthday there today. Though it was spontaneous, the staff were so accommodating and so helpful. Great customer service. Thank you Levi for all the extras you laid out for our toddler. She was very happy.

Just turned up having been to Lakeside. Quickly seated and the service was great. Food came pretty quickly and was great value for money and very tasty. Will definitely be coming back on another evening.

Consistently good food and absolutely lovely staff, the menu is big but don’t be put off by that - they have pulled off every dish I’ve tried so far. Always leave here feeling happy and full. Big shoutout to the staff and the chefs!

Great place to eat, will come back. There seems to lack of ventilation in the kitchen as the restaurant smelled of fried bacon or so. This was the only downside of it.
