First time I tried this place, was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff were, some lovely choices off cakes and some great looking sausage Rolls.I had a bacon and sausage sandwich with side salad which was lovely, nice to see they use proper thick and soft bread. The only downside which isn’t that bad was that there was no salad cream only mayonnaise for the salad.

The staff were very friendly and the cream tea was excellent, so nice to see a business supporting adults with different needs giving them a real purpose and a chance to excel

I have to say this was the best meal we have had in a long time! We had a three course Al a carte meal and with every course ,the food hit the taste buds! The venue both inside and out is stunning. It was busy but not noisy, felt very calm and relaxing. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. We live the other side of Norwich, so not been before but will definitely have to find another reason for going back and maybe trying some of the other menus!

This celebration has been under planning for months and months ahead of the night. We first spoke to Alex, the owner of The Bird In Hand, about what we were after. And through that meeting we agreed that we would have the whole of the restaurant even if our numbers reduced. We went in closer to the time to hand in our preorder for the food and to have last questions answered. Then we spoke to the manager in charge of the functions. Sorry I can’t remember her name. After that again, we were told we would still have the whole room. Days after we had a call from the same women then saying ‘we will be opening the side room for others to come in to have their meals’ to that we said no, we have the whole room and as we wanted a private event, that’s what we booked months ago. I understand our numbers dropped, so they wanted to earn more money with those spare tables, but who’s gonna want to walk through a celebration meal. Coming to the night, we were able to come in early to decorate and set up everything we wanted, which was appreciated. Staff playing along with the surprise as Nan walked in to the bar area, she loved it. The food was amazing, so tasty and it came out without any issues. Massive portions! Thank you to the chefs. The service was outstanding, all staff so friendly and welcoming. Making sure to help anyway they can. Special thanks to Kelly, Angie and Trina for making it all run smoothly. Amazing! So overall we had a great evening, Nan enjoyed herself, and that’s the main thing! Better communication between management would have saved the stress caused through all the confusion whilst preparing the celebration. All we have to say is Thank you to all the staff on the night for making nans birthday celebration amazing!

This is the perfect pub in the middle of a lovely walk. Right by the river with outside seating. We had a baguette to share. It was excellent value for money and perfectly fresh. The beer was really well kept and a lovely pint of Green Jack Trawler Boys. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

We’ve enjoyed a weekend camp over at this pub and would highly recommend the venue. Camping in our campervan offered a large field with electric hookup, bins and chemical waste disposal in a peaceful location at the side of this great pub/restaurant. The team at the pub couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating, the food, drink and ambiance were all spot on for a relaxing and chilled out weekend. We enjoyed drinks on one night and a fabulous meal the next, that was like it was from a top restaurant, very well done and good value for what was served. Dogs are welcome, the place had a lovely village, family friendly feel, will definitely return, it was lovely to explore the local surrounding countryside.

The food was amazing , everything was cooked beautifully and the staff were very attentive and informative . Amazing value for a set 2 or 3 course with just the right size menu to choose from . You know if a menu is too vast it’s not doable for the chef to be all his own work . Thank you everyone . We had a lovely evening
