The best restaurants serving British food in South Norfolk East of England

The food was amazing , everything was cooked beautifully and the staff were very attentive and informative . Amazing value for a set 2 or 3 course with just the right size menu to choose from . You know if a menu is too vast it’s not doable for the chef to be all his own work . Thank you everyone . We had a lovely evening

Excellent olde worlde pub with amazing Italian style food. Pizzas were excellent using some local products but would have preferred more used Slightly expensive but overall a great place and food..

A very popular busy cafe. Lovely lunch outside. We had the rosti with spinach, mushrooms, poached egg and bacon. Really delicious. I didn't see inside but to sit outside you do have to put up with the traffic going by. Really recommend this place

Poor service long wait time Medicare food. Visited on way back from Norwich absolute mayhem no organisation and waited an hour for food - when it arrived basically frozen food deep fried

I ordered pie and mash. What I actually got was even better. I don't think I've ever eaten such tasty carrots and parsnips , which I was reliable informed , were lightly infused with alcohol. Next time I go I may just ask for a plate of vedge. Outstanding!

Shocking portions - Lim’s used to be good now awful. They’ve trimmed the finish to kids portion sizes. This is a regular fish.

Popped up here recently while staying in the area, and what a lovely welcoming pub. Friendliest of bar staff/land lords, and customers. Sky sports licence, darts board, and a quality pint (at good value!). Will definitely be returning when in the area 🍻

Wow an amazing find a delight from the moment you walk in the door. Staff friendly and helpful. It is a gluten/dairy free heaven! We dined in and oh my goodness what a choice I actually didn’t know what to have. Really different options. I opted for the gf/df tuna mayonnaise sandwich and it didn’t disappoint. Bread was so soft and flavourful, other ingredients good quality and tasty. Daughter had non gf/ df scone with cream cheese and pickle and said it was delicious( there was a gf/df alternative). I had oat milk with my smooth americano. One of the best places I have had lunch in for choice, taste and quality. Prices are very reasonable too. Will definitely be returning in the future. It’s a short walk from either car parks in Loddon which give two hours free parking . Or it’s close to the staithe if arriving by boat from the broads . Loddon can also be accessed by bus from Norwich or Beccles/Lowestoft or even Southwold /Kessingland.

Our daughter lives locally and found this place online whilst looking for a local dog friendly restaurant/pub. Reviews seemed good so we gave it a go, we hadn’t prebooked and were a little concerned when we arrived that we were the only customers. Friendly welcome, drinks and menus delivered to our table, son had the roast beef, daughter the roast chicken, the wife and I opted for the burger (the dog had pre packed treats). Our sons comment of “that’s the best roast I’ve had in ages” about summed up our experience (he did hastily add after, “but not as good as yours mum”). Daughter insisted that I tried her chicken and it was melt in the mouth, the cheese and bacon burgers served with chips, coleslaw and an impressive side salad were also worth a 9 out of 10. We will definitely revisit next time we are in the area (and we were quite pleased to see the place rather busy as we left, guess we just got there early).

What a beautiful spot to have a breakfast. Right on the bank of the River Yare. Full English was delicious,comes with orange juice, toast, butter and jam or marmalade and a coffee or tea. We were very full afterwards lol .

We ordered lasagne kids portion and hot baguette. Baguette came cold and soft,extra salad price on the manu was 1.5£ we was charged 2.5£.lasagne was on small plate so we thought was OK till we get to the pay. We been charged 13£ and when I asked why waitress said I didn't asked for kids portion. Shame that we didn't take a picture of the size as we sure that wasn't adult portion. Waitress for sure heard me asking for kids portion as she went to the kitchen and asked them if they available,then she come back confirming that they are. After writing review on Google we get quite rude reply from the owner blaming as for being rude... not allowed to ask why we been charged too much.... this place was really good till today...

Lunch at the Swan. Quite unpleasant sausage baguette. Dry sausages (left over from breakfast) with half a jar of onion marmalade. Bacon brie and tomato sandwich. Volume over quality.

A thoroughly enjoyable visit to this independent business. I was looking for a unique gift and the helpful staff suggested a range of possibilities which met my criteria. Beautiful displays, friendly staff, delicious food in the cafe, creative pottery pieces and immaculate-what more would you want from an outing?!
