I wasn't going to write this but on reflection I am so disappointed and annoyed I thought I would we arranged mooring for the night had a few drinks in the afternoon then went in for dinner had some soup was good then ordered a steak medium when it turned up I couldn't cut it with a steak knife it was raw and full of sinuews, there was a pepper sauce which tasted like bread pudding. So told them I wasn't paying for this he then put the blame on me saying I should of told them fair enough but that wouldn't have got rid of all the fst and grissle that was in it,He then charged me £40 when I was back on the boat realised they had overcharged me by £7 went back to ask for this he was furious thought he was going to explode. No one apologised it was clearly my fault,I have been coming to this pub for years never seen it as bad as this the weather was glorious but it wasn't very busy Go to the reedcuters or woods end fabulous pubs I will never come to the ferry again shame

Freshly prepared and quality sausage and bacon. Friendly service and dogs welcome. (Breakfast served until 11am) Don’t be put off by the road closed sign near Kirby Bedon - it doesn’t affect the drive to The Ferry. Spotted Marsh Harriers, Grebes and lots more along the way.

New to boating, we booked a mooring this week and I almost made the right spot - just moved the reservation board to where the boat ended up. Stopping overnight, we had an evening meal here which was lovely. The menu, and pub, are most definitely "old school" but the food was great - plentiful - well cooked and piping hot. Both my wife and I loved it. We had breakfast in the morning before setting off and that too was outstanding - probably the best breakfast in a pub/hotel for a good few years. This is a little gem of a place right on the river and as the name suggests it over looked the old crossing. Nice and old inside so totally in keeping with it's age, but if it's sunny sit outside and watch the boats go by and of course the amature shipmates trying to tie up their boats which is so funny they should sell tickets. Do get the wrong impression from the car parking here as you might think the pub is packed but it's not it's people just out walking. My only gripe is when you pay for a pint of beer why is it so hard for bar staff to give you a proper pint. But other than that this is a lovely place to sit and relax.

Our daughter lives locally and found this place online whilst looking for a local dog friendly restaurant/pub. Reviews seemed good so we gave it a go, we hadn’t prebooked and were a little concerned when we arrived that we were the only customers. Friendly welcome, drinks and menus delivered to our table, son had the roast beef, daughter the roast chicken, the wife and I opted for the burger (the dog had pre packed treats). Our sons comment of “that’s the best roast I’ve had in ages” about summed up our experience (he did hastily add after, “but not as good as yours mum”). Daughter insisted that I tried her chicken and it was melt in the mouth, the cheese and bacon burgers served with chips, coleslaw and an impressive side salad were also worth a 9 out of 10. We will definitely revisit next time we are in the area (and we were quite pleased to see the place rather busy as we left, guess we just got there early).

Popped up here recently while staying in the area, and what a lovely welcoming pub. Friendliest of bar staff/land lords, and customers. Sky sports licence, darts board, and a quality pint (at good value!). Will definitely be returning when in the area 🍻
