Thank you to all staff, including the very affable chef, for a wonderful lunch for family and friends! My youngest son is coeliac and type 1 diabetic.Sourcing gluten free choices is always top of our list- you went over and above to ensure he had what he needed and the food was brought out in such a timely fashion which was important for him. All the food was substantial and thoroughly delicious!! Thank you! We will return and recommend!

Superb friendly pub with excellent home cooked food. Always welcomed by Sonia and the team to what we think is nicest place on the broads. Plenty of bookable mooring for boaters, parking and even few spaces for motorhomes etc. Food always good, great selection of drinks and oldie worldie feel inside with a roaring fire in winter too. At very busy times you may need to wait a short while but always worth waiting for. Lovely circular walk you can do along riverbank too. If you stop over make sure to tuck into beer breakfast on broads...Will set you up for the day.

New to boating, we booked a mooring this week and I almost made the right spot - just moved the reservation board to where the boat ended up. Stopping overnight, we had an evening meal here which was lovely. The menu, and pub, are most definitely "old school" but the food was great - plentiful - well cooked and piping hot. Both my wife and I loved it. We had breakfast in the morning before setting off and that too was outstanding - probably the best breakfast in a pub/hotel for a good few years. Staff were very nice and helped us out as we'd forgotten to pack a phone charger. I really could not fault this place and we'll definitely be returning.

As usual a lovely meal, we try to moor up here everytime we go on the broads. Haven't been since 2019 and glad to see still run by the same people and the food still as good. We can't always moor up but this time we had a rowing boat and moored up opposite so we're able to row a cross. Good veggie options as my son with us this time. Great place to stop off for dinner and breakfast

Lovely setting by the water, beer was good but the food was particularly poor, especially surprising after being recommended by a few people. The curries tasted like they came out of a jar and came with microwave rice...not what I expect for nearly £15 and way below what I was hoping for.

This is a little gem of a place right on the river and as the name suggests it over looked the old crossing. Nice and old inside so totally in keeping with it's age, but if it's sunny sit outside and watch the boats go by and of course the amature shipmates trying to tie up their boats which is so funny they should sell tickets. Do get the wrong impression from the car parking here as you might think the pub is packed but it's not it's people just out walking. My only gripe is when you pay for a pint of beer why is it so hard for bar staff to give you a proper pint. But other than that this is a lovely place to sit and relax.

Lovely little traditional riverside pub. Nice to find somewhere that hasn’t been overly modernised and made ‘trendy’. Really lovely staff - we were made to feel welcome immediately. Food wasn’t mega cheap but it was reasonable and of good quality. Slightly downside was the sticky tables though not dirty. Our table was difficult to sit at due to the heavy pedestal but wasn’t a major issue. All in all we had a lovely lunch and will most definitely be regular visitors.

Perfect setting and good and honest. We have been coming here for years (over 20) and Sonia knows how to run a nice establishment you can rely on. Home cooked food and decent prices, even on a busy day not a crazy wait despite plenty of customers enjoying the riverside views and moorings. The pub felt very welcoming and you could tell the people behind the bar as well as the chefs were very passionate about the place. The food, really was amazing. Felt very hearty and made with care. We all left with full stomachs and felt like it was worth every penny. The staff really looked like they wanted to be there which made the experience so much better. Free mooring and water. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Service was perfect from the lady that served us. The chef came and spoke to us after our meal and showed us photos and gave us a bit of background of the 300 yr old pub which was lovely. Unfortunately we nearly didn’t go in, on our arrival we noticed a gent talking about us (we did struggle to moor as the boat kept floating to the one next to us before we could tie her up - we are learners) we asked if he was ok but got a snappy YES! After mooring he came hurtling towards us flapping that we were ‘touching’ his boat. My dad and husband tried to explain what had been happening but he sent us further away and became a little patronising towards us. Later the same Gent - Martin came and told us how much our bill was, we had to ask for the actual bill. He mumbled that he’d have to write it out.

Our Christmas lunch was sadly ruined by some apparently ‘proud’ locals that could not handle their beer or their fowl mouths. The meal was great and the staff were lovely. Absolutely no complaints in either of those areas. We had taken our Mum for Christmas lunch as we will not see her over the Christmas period. The men on the table behind us, one in particular, just got more and more drunk. As the endless drinking continued they became louder and more obnoxious. We tried to ignore them and get on with our meal, hoping that they would eventually leave, but they stayed and drank even more. Eventually I had enough of the continued swearing and lack of regard for anyone else and asked them to calm the swearing down. They said they were locals and that we should piss off……we did leave. Their behaviour had been vile. It’s a shame. If you are a ‘proud local’ you should care about the reputation of your local pub and the livelihood of the people that depend on the income from it…..and maybe learn a few more words 🙄

My Granddad, Ron Henery (R.I.P.), wouldn’t settle for anything but Lims. I’ve been coming here since I was a lad, barely tall enough to see over the counter. Every time I visit Loddon, it brings back cheerful memories. The chips are excellent, and the fish is, without a doubt, the best by a country mile.
