Last night I dined at Bridge Street Bistro for the 3rd time but this was the first time I'd dined with a large group. Some establishments would struggle to deliver exceptional service and food to a large group but everything was flawless. Orders taken and arrived correctly, excellent and friendly service and the meals were delicious all round. For a loud, bubbly table we were all buried in our mains in silence. Everyone was happy with their food and satisfied for the price paid which I feel sadly is rare when dining out in a group. Perfect restaurant for a date night or celebratory meal or when you want something a bit more ✨️special✨️- worth every penny. All of the staff at Bridge Street Bistro are masters of their craft. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Without doubt this is the best traditional greasy spoon I've found in Hitchin - a really good generous portion of cooked to order breakfast for just £3.50, superb value.

I come back to Hitchin to see friends having lived overseas for years. I then get an update from Euro car parks that I owe 100 GBP. Super frustrating. It was dark when I arrived and signage was poor. No where in the pub did it suggest I check about paying for parking. Seems I am not the only one with this problem so suggest the landlord takes this onboard and starting displaying better signage. And I have seen the response about Euro Car Parks helping with non-customers abusing the space. Not good enough if you are not updating your customers inside the pub.

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The food took ages to be served despite it not being busy, the food was lukewarm at best, they forgot half our order, and lied throughout about why the food was taking so long. We came here for Sunday Roast with four of us and a 20-month old child. The restaurant was mostly empty, however, we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food, after insisting given the little one was getting hungry. They first said they had mixed up their tables and gave our order to another table. When they finally brought the food out, it was lukewarm at best, with poor portions, and 2 out of 5 roasts were missing. They initially said these were coming soon and were being cooked “right now”. They said this would take 10 minutes. 20 minutes later, the waiter then told us that they had actually forgot to order the other 2 roasts. We ended up leaving without getting the other 2 roasts as we were waiting ages. They did give us a bottle of prosecco and 20% off our food, but the dishonesty and atrocious service was a disaster. This ruined our lunch and we will never coming here again.

I had my 60th Birthday celebration at the Green Man last Friday with family and friends. Mark and Becky closed the main bar for our event and provided a fantastic range of food for us. The tables were groaning with food, way more than for the 40 people I paid for and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating on the night. If you want a proper pub for a meal, drink or event, I'd recommend The Green Man to you.

This corner cafe near the market changed hands, struggled, shut, and is now operating as a Caribbean restaurant and takeaway. If you're after an old-fashioned fry-up in Hitchin there are plenty of options, both basic and hipster, but you won't find it here any more.

This place has really gone downhill since I last visited, probably pre-lockdown. It was always a little pricey but today I paid £11 for a very small plate of uninspiring looking, lukewarm, almost tasteless cheesy bubble and squeak that seemed to have come straight from the freezer to the microwave, topped with an egg and two chipolata-sized sausages that also seemed to have been microwaved as they were rubbery and tough. My grandson does not like eggs, so I asked if he could have an extra sausage instead, but was told that it was not possible unless I paid an extra £3, so he had the meal without an egg, but I still had to pay the full price. The drinks were very pricey too. This place used to have a really interesting deli and food/drink shop, which was a real part of its charm, but this has also gone. The menu is very limited In summary, very pricey and the food was extremely disappointing. I felt very dissatisfied and won't be returning.

I attended Hitchin Priory with 3 other members of my family for Christmas Day lunch. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. The staff, service and food were all excellent. The feel of the room was very relaxing and the tables nicely spaced out. The atmosphere was very convivial. If it is still the same set up next year we shall definitely be back. Our visit to Hitchin Priory made our Christmas Day. Thanks to all concerned.
