Such a lovely owner and an amazing smoothie, she really took the time to make sure it was right and had so much pride in her products, my partner drank the smoothie in about 5 minutes it was so nice 😊

My wife and I stopped by for a snack and had cornish pasties with a cappuccino. We were given a very warm welcome and also treated to a sweet which she had in celebration of a birthday. We definitely intend to return there when we are next in Hitchen. 👍

Visited with my dad and daughter. My daughter is 1 and due to allergies, has never had a taste of ice cream. On a beautiful sunny day, Cornish Hearts had vegan vanilla ice cream, placed in a teddy bear cone. Perfect for my little girl! She was so happy and enjoyed it. I tasted the ice cream, it was delicious. The staff went above and beyond for us! We will be returning for sure. Highly recommend the vegan ice cream

Very hot day, travelled from Swindon to take out elderly relatives, thought we would stop for ice cream to give our relatives chance to sit down, this was on the 8th September 2023, there was a male serving who didn't seem to know what he was doing, we purchased 3 x ice cream cones containing 2 x double scoops and 1 x single scoop of ice creams, the cones where broken, the cost was £16 ???? and then he took ages to try and get the till working, so ice creams were melting, as we sat eating the very expensive ice cream, noticed how must he was charging everyone, which seemed to change? he charge one couple £9 for two double scoops with the same cones we had? so how can my purchase have come to £16?

Came here with my kids. Witnessed the manager screaming at the young girls working there for very little reason. Feel sorry for them, they deserve good pay as they are the only thing keeping this place open. Ice cream overpriced. Manager too touchy with my kids when giving sprinkles. Saw her cleaning plates with dirty bin tissues then giving them to customers. Will not be returning. The ice cream shop Fabios next door is much cleaner and better price for what your given. Will be going there instead.

The lovely pasties we ate here were even better than those we'd recently had in Cornwall! Also, delicious cakes on offer, and excellent, friendly service. We went back the next day as our son also loved their ice creams so much. The pasties were so good we bought extra to take away and share with friends later.

Having been to Cornish Hearts many times, a routine pasty grab resulted in some excellent customer service after an incident with my daughter and a wasp. In short, the pasties are always brilliant but the owner went above and beyond to calm my daughter down after a sting to her lip. It was lovely to see and the ice cream provided solace to the wee one. Thank you Cornish Hearts, you're pasties reign supreme; the ice cream is amazing (and apparently medicinal); and customer service relating to wasp sting trauma would put any health care practice to shame.

Poor coffee, terrible and rude service from the manageress but nice service from the young girls who work there. My daughter worked there for a month and she was bullied from start to finish. She was often left unsupervised and made to feel totally incompetent. She was left to work, even though she was just learning the ropes, so-to-speak, for up to five hours at a time, made to babysit her daughter, clean her office and was berated the entire time. She left every day in tears. This woman makes a point of employing young girls so she can manipulate and bully them, as she does her husband which she likes to shout and insult him in front of the customers. A horrible place.

A sweet little place right on the edge of the historic Hitchin square, selling pasties , coffee, ice cream et al. Faced with the stress of lockdown, it was a joy to find somewhere to get a nice coffee to sit in my vintage camper and enjoy from a safe distance. I turned up and they were on the verge of closing & were cleaning up and winding down, despite this they were kind enough to rustle me up my requested super strong cappuccino, for which I was very grateful. Whilst waiting I chatted to the proprietors lovely son and his gorgeous baby sister, we continued an interesting chat whilst drinking my coffee by my van, on the trials and tribulations of COVID 19 and the impact on working life. The venue is small, quaint, clean, friendly and I highly recommend a visit on your next trip to our fabulous Hitchin

Always friendly and fantastic service, Especially during lockdown. They sell the most delicious GLUTEN FREE cakes too!! Large portion sizes. Had a triple chocolate cake, it was so yummy!!! My fella has had a few pasties from here, the lamb & mint a keen favourite, he said they have been so tasty!!! (sadly the pasties are not gluten free) Ice cream is delish and creamy, and everything you want, can be served either with a cone or a tub of you're on a gluten free diet. Coffee is so good and always served with a smile. X

It was a sunny autumn day and I fancied a bite to eat whilst sitting int he sunshine in the old Market Square. I had noticed this Pie shop and rather fancied a Cornish Pasty so I bought one and took it to eat whilst sitting on a bench in the square. It is a delightful old square and I remember it from many years ago when the market used to be actually held there. The pie was pleasant but too much meat and not enough vegetables for my liking, but enjoyable.

The shop is on the market square right in the centre of Hitchin, where a small fete was going on today so we stopped off for a pasty lunch to drink in the summery atmosphere. It was lovely. I had pork and apple pasty and my Husband has beef & stilton. both were delicious. They are served with paper napkins, in a paper bag to take away but mine had just come out of the oven so the lady brought it to our table with the option of a plate as it was piping hot. That was a very thoughtful, friendly touch and what I consider good service to be all about. After we had eaten out pasties, we treated ourselves to an ice cream too. Really delicious. Again a great example of customer service...a little boy was very upset that he had dropped his ice cream and they replaced it free of charge. This place is next to a branch of Starbucks so I would urge anyone who is after refreshment in Hitchin not to overlook the great little independent "Cornish Hearts". We all need to support these places or they will disappear and all we'll be left with is faceless chain stores with no heart.

Cornish hearts is a little independent place that is run by lovely people. It attracts a lot ofLocal people which creates a friendly relaxed atmosphere .A great little sun trap in the heart of the town, fantastic for people watching while you tuck into a traditional authentic Cornish pasty. Lots of different flavours to try, and wonderful coffee grown and imported directly from farmers in Tanzania. It's also great knowing that gluten and dairy free cakes and ice cream are available for those with sensitive tummies. Against some tough competition with local independent coffee shops, Cornish Hearts' coffee is up there with the best - always delicious. Not only does it taste as good - and often better - than other specialist coffee shops, it's served at a good temperature and you get more of it for your money than elsewhere. It's a great suntrap in the summer, perfect for people-watching across the town square, and the owner is unfailingly polite and charming.I don't often eat during the day, but on the occasions my partner has tucked into a pasty and persuaded me to eat too, they've always been extremely tasty.

The steak was very tender, juicy and plentiful with just the right ratio of vegetable. The pastry had just the right texture of crispiness without being dry. The 5 stars represent the quality of the pasty but I admit they are quite expensive.
