A perfect place for lunch or just to stop for a cuppa and a lovely cake - whilst you wait for your car to be fixed in the village garage, as I was today! The staff at the Melbourn Hub are always extremely friendly and welcoming. Table service, great cakes and a pot of tea at bargain prices - what's not to like? There's a shelf of books you can borrow if you have time to while away or the community library has several shelves at the far end of the cafe. The place is often busy but there's always a spot to squeeze in somewhere, amongst the parents, pensioners, cycling teams stopping for a rest and just people going about their day. The atmosphere is always bubbly but never noisy or intrusive. An ideal place to spend a few hours!

Fantastic staff always made to feel Welcome. Food is good value and always good portion size and most importantly tastes great.

I attended the Melbourn fete last Saturday 15th June. Bought three cheeseburgers from the Melbourn Hub tent at £4.50 each. The worst burgers I’ve had in years!. All three of us took one bite and threw them away. The burgers tasted ‘old’ ie. past its sell by date. I and my family were concerned we’d get ill as well as tasting cheap and awful. I would have rather paid a £1-2 more get something a lot better. Not good, Melbourn Hub. Please note the criticism and use better quality burgers next time.

We popped in while visiting the area. Had a really nice rock cake and coffee. Lovely clean environment and friendly staff.

Very busy so waited a while for food. A little bit disappointed with the kiddie bags. Ok for older kids but sandwiches too big for small kids. Portions should be smaller and cost less. Paper straws never work with small children as they become soggy and flat so. More young family customers could then enjoy

Lovely community cafe. Very friendly staff and volunteers with very well maintained facilities. Incorporates Melbourn library that runs a few days a week and it also used to host local events.

Waiting for 2 hours no one was here apart from me staff was busy doing whatever stuff they were doing this is rediculuse!!!!

A nice place to have breakfast through to a light lunch. Volunteer helpers are great especially David whose customer service would be appreciated in more expensive abodes

Great local facilities with friendly staff and economic prices

Had a bacon baguette and a cappuccino early Saturday morning coffee was nice although waitress spilled some in the saucer and didn't offer to clean it up or fetch me a napkin to mop it up. At £5.25 baguette wasn't good one piece of dry bacon in each half of the baguette and the baguette had been warmed up in microwave and was soft and leathery may as well had a soft roll - I work near a bakers in a village in South Cambs and their baguettes are crammed with fillings for less price and far better quality. Ive also had a cheese scone here before which they had got out of the freezer and microwaved and was still partly frozen so i wouldnt eat here again based on recent visit. However my mum visits the Hub more regularly in the week and has had better food.

Coffee was stone cold and over priced I would not recommend this place staff attitude poor over priced on food portion sizes very small for what you pay for if you're face don't fit then they drive people out this not the place to become a volunteer steer clear of this place

Had full English here Sat morning they smashed it out the park. It is at end if the day community hub so ingredients are not best money can buy but it didn't stop the breakfast being delicious and for the price you can't complain really can't. Eggs were splashed on top so runny but not snotty. Hash browns had been griddled so extra crunchy, black pudding done on the George foreman which I think was great, crispy but soft inside. Mushrooms had been actually pan fried and not deep fried which is how they should be done... bacon crispy, sausages griddles nicely. Couldn't fault this breakfast if I tried. If they started using butchers sausages and bacon they'd be dangerous

Lovely atmosphere, great coffee and a tasty bacon sandwich. Quite busy for a Friday morning with just one or two spare tables but it'd be worth the wait!

My wife and I have recently moved to Melbourn and love visiting the Hub with its friendly staff, good value food and strong community feel. Dogs and children are made welcome and the library is well-stocked with books for both adults and children. Thank you for all you do

What a lovely experience with it all going on at the Hub. Chose it quite by chance as half way to where we were going. Lovely people Community based, the library was pulled out whilst we were there and the food, coffee and cake was very much enjoyed. Collections for Ukraine going on there as well. What a find.

I went there this morning with a mate after a funeral in the village, I'd not been before and was pleasantly surprised, the staff were all volunteers and very friendly, the Hub was comfortable and warm after the cold church. Prices were competitive with the surrounding area, excellent selection of cakes and sandwiches, though local I'd not tried it before, I will certainly go again.

beautiful. such a cosy and wonderful ambience. i normally visit some days after school. the cakes are heavenly, so is all the other food. not to mention the staff are so kind and bubbly. i love eating cake in the afternoons reading a book.

This has always been a great local place to grab an all-day breakfast, everything is cooked well and the service is friendly. What I've really been impressed with lately are the measures they've taken to make sure it's COVID secure. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted, your contact details are taken (or you can scan the QR code on the contact tracing app), and there's a touchless hand sanitizer station. All the tables are well spaced plus there's additional covered seating outdoors. The doors were kept open to allow good ventilation but if it's a cold day I recommend wrapping up warm! When I went today for lunch, I only had to wait a couple minutes to be seated whilst the table was wiped down, even the chairs. I think if you're missing being able to dine out but are a little nervous, give The Hub a try, they've clearly put a lot of thought into making it a comfortable and safe place to be.

This has to be the best local cafe around. they have left absolutely nothing to chance with regard to Covid..Their attention to detail here is brilliant, you feel perfectly safe. They offer a terrific service great food, coffee's and tea. You can sit inside and or outside the tables are well spaced. Well worth a visit excellent value for money as well.

Such an asset to Melbourn and very lucky to have such an amazing community focused place to eat together, take books out of the Library and have used the meeting rooms too! Superbly run by an exceptionally friendly, committed team who provide so much support to everyone. The food is delicious and there are always so many friendly faces. This place should be a blueprint for any village looking to have the same. Highly recommend and special thanks to all the team and volunteers for being so kind whenever I visit.

I'd really recommend a trip to the hub for breakfast/coffee/lunch whilst working from home. A friendly atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food/coffee. 10/10 from me

I had a hubbachino. Its like a cappachino, but more hubby. Community run and home made cakes.

This is a real gem in Melbourn. The hub offers great food for breakfast and lunch, there is plenty of seating sofas as well as tables and chairs. There are play boxes for the children, they also have a lending library with a real assortment of books. This is a real integral part of the village and well worth a stop for a coffee or a meal. There is a car park opposite so you are not having to walk a long way. The staff are also really friendly and helpful. a lot of volunteers work here to support the hub.

Have been going here with a group of friends and our babies. Staff can’t do enough to help and the food is reasonably priced and tasty!! Nothing like a local community cafe and this hub is exactly that!

We visited The Hub for the "Turn on to Christmas Festival" as my kids booked in to see Father Christmas. The Hub is a great gem of a place, its run by the community for the community. There's plenty on the menu to eat & drink, facilities are nice and clean too. When we arrived for the evenings festivities the hub was very busy which is great to see. There was raffle,tombolas and face painting as well as carol singing.

We had a supper here last night as part of the organised ghost walk heading up to Halloween night. This was an organised walk with a local drama group arranging the scary bits. The food was great and very reasonably priced. The ghost walk was also fun. The Hub has a very good café arrangement. They cover breakfasts lunches etc. There is plenty of seating the food is always prepared fresh. The staff here are all very friendly a really good meeting place, look out for the special functions they are always organised well. There is plenty of parking available directly over the road.

We called into The Hub, as we were in the area, and knew there was a fund-raising event taking place on Sunday afternoon. The Hub was busy with people supporting the event and we enjoyed a tasty cream tea - scone, jam and cream with a cup of tea - just what we needed before our journey home. A lovely modern, clean and friendly place to call into for refreshments.

Fantastic atmosphere and staff and great food

We used The Hub for our annual Trustee away day. We are always pleased with every aspect of our visits here - the room, refreshments, lunch and facilities are excellent and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. We will definitely book again.

A group of us had breakfast here the other day. great menu, freshly cooked food, service with a real smile. Everything was great. This is a great place to meet, very clean obviously well maintained, with very friendly staff. Plenty of seating good menu for breakfast lunches and snacks. Plenty of free parking just over the road. Well worth a visit, you wont be disappointed.

Had lunch here the other day, very friendly staff, nice menu enough to choose from. Hot and cold food served at very reasonable prices. Plenty of seating inside and out. If your driving parking is available free directly across the street. This is a nice community location to meet friends.

Nice place for coffee and cakes. Car park opposite is free. It really is the hub of activities for Melbourn including library!

Me encanta venir a el centro. Genial para los niños para tomar una nueva biblioteca y todos podemos disfrutar de una bebida caliente y relajarse.

Hemos estado aquí 3 o 4 veces. A mi hijo le encanta su desayuno después de su lección de natación y para poder jugar con su o mirar libros en la biblioteca.

Visitamos hoy por primera vez con la familia y tengo que decir que un café muy bueno es, teníamos el desayuno del cubo y era muy sabrosa fresca y caliente y un precio muy bueno sin duda volveremos nada es demasiado problema. Usted debe dar el núcleo de una visita que no te decepcionará.

I have had several breakfasts here while working nearby. The menu includes many different cafe dishes, including sandwiches, jacket potatoes, toasties, breakfast rolls, and full breakfast. The service here has always been excellent, the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The coffee has always been very good, I was very happy with my latte. The breakfasts food has varied in standard a little from very good to ok over the different visits. They offer free papers to read in the cafe area and have free wifi which is a massive plus. Well worth stopping here for a coffee and bite to eat.

The Melbourn Hub is a cafe that's part library.I visited here with my daughter one cold windy saturday morning, and we enjoyed a hot chocolate, a latte, a croissant and a chocolate croissant; all for a reasonable price.The staff were friendly and very particular in serving the food and drinks to make them presentable.Everything was clean and tidy, including the toilets.The WiFi worked very well.
