First visit and we absolutely loved it! KFC who?! We are converted chicken Georgers! Funky venue, staff fantastic! Very tasty and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back and I've recommended it to my friends

Go over once a week, food always good, the staff are great,good value have been a regular customer for years when they started in Luton never had to complain

This place is amazing. Way better than kfc and Popeyes put together. Drove all the way from London, and it was a great experience. Staff are all so friendly and kind, The like the nuke burger is the best I’ve ever had hands down. Wings are all full of flavours. Cant wait to go back….!

One of the in places at the moment. Similar to the place in Bedford but minus the sports which I am a little envious of. Foods quick and tasty. What else would you want?

Great food, huge shame tips paid on card didn't go staff (so said by staff on two separate visits) especially when on a minimum wage.

This became our go to spot quickly for a couple of years. Great flavours. Wish some stayed including making the specials a regular. Service has got a lot quicker either way new management it seems. Nice atmosphere

The atmosphere and the person who served us was exemplary. Unfortunately the same cannot to be said about everything on the menu. The burgers were quite nice but some of the chicken were too salty. For the price, one would expect more. Hopefully it was just a bad batch and other have had a better experience

The best chicken shop in the UK👍 as you can see, I give a review on the shop 3 years ago?Saying chicken George is the best and it is, but the staff lately is letting it down.There is cleaning fluids on the table crums and mess on the floor it's just looks a bit messy lately.And it is a shame because it is very nice

I have ordered from here regularly over the last two years, always really loved the food, however recently their wings (what brought me here in the first place) are over battered, over sauced and soggy. Really hoping they get back to their usual high standards.

More than 2,5 hours waiting, even though it was supposed to be only 70 min.

The food was nice but there was no salt and pepper on the table no lemon wipes to clean fingers after. Staff was around to seat you and take your order but would not look at you after so could not signal for the bill. Managed to pay at the bar and ask to box up what we could not eat.

Colonel Sanders would be finger licking the chicken here lol. Best wings ever, buffalo are the winner for me. Burgers are huge too. A proper chicken shop, exactly how it should be, great food and great service.

The best fried chicken in Hertfordshire.

It is the best fried chicken in town, but there can still be inconsistencies in what you get. The cans are 20p a unit from Costco and they charge you £3... I recommend the wraps if you want food on the go as it's easier to eat.

Second time coming here and was sadly dissapointed. Maple burger was so sweet and sickly I couldn't finish it. Way way way too much sauce on everything too it made the burger bun and wings very soggy. Service was really slow and the Music was awful and so loud I thought I was eating in JD Sports.

My daughter took me here and it was amazing! Great choice of chicken, obviously but also sides, fries, extensive drinks menu too. We ate in the restaurant part and servers in there were lovely - welcoming, polite and efficient! Would recommend you check this place out!

Attended the hitchin restaurant on 2/10/24 for a dine in meal. Two of the party came away with food poisoning. Tried to email them to advise of this but there is not email contact on the website.

What i ordered vs what i got, and they gave me less compared to what i ordered so i paid 30 pound for 2 strip meals, no phone number on google or anything of the delivery food apps they have removed their number i asume ao they sont deal witb customeds

My girlfriend ordered food and spent over 50 pound and our food was cold with some chicken uncooked it was never like this in Luton.sorry but I had to review this it's unacceptable

Best chicken burger I’ve ever had! The mango wings are also incredible! Quick delivery and food arrived hot.

The food was nice , Mac and cheese was terrible - it was more like Mac and sneeze and I would suggest either retraining some of the staff on customer care skills as this was almost non existent in the shop and it’s a real shame as the chicken was yummy

I live quite far from the Hitchin Branch and order quite a lot of food for a small party. I ordered takeaway from Chicken George because my friends had heard good things. However they gave only part of the order, and I only found out when I got home, so had to return all the way to the Hitchin Branch. The server didn't seem to care, or apologise and just stared at me blankly. By the time I.got home all the food was soggy and cold. Not worth it

I've been wanting to try here for YEARS after hearing such rave things about it, expectations were very high. I finally went there for the first time, and I'm sorry to say it's some of the worst chicken I've had recently. The chicken wings themsleves were very hard and crunchy (not nice and crispy) and barely warm, you could tell they were not freshly cooked and had been sitting around for a while, same goes for the chips. I went for the garlic butter and parmesan sauce on the wings, and I have never had a mayonnaise that tasted so overwhelmingly eggy before (yes I'm aware mayo is made out of eggs but I don't expect to bite into chicken and taste nothing but egg). You could not taste the garlic or parmesan AT ALL, it was very off-putting. The garlic mayo dip and the regular mayo in the burger was the same, extremely eggy, so that's all you could taste. The chicken in the burger was very dry in the middle, and the bun had a weird taste and smell. It was quite busy on a Friday evening, but I don't really think that's an excuse to serve food thats stale and clearly been sitting there a while. I can only assume they were having a bad day or struggling to keep up with the demand, as I cannot believe that so many people are raving on about it if they are regularly serving the standard of food I got today to be honest. On a plus side the servers were really working hard and were friendly, it just the quality of food I have an issue with.

Food was tasty, staff were polite and recommemded me a tasty burger meal (was my first visit)...you can't get a beer and sit in the takeaway part or outside though...only down fall (have to sit inside the restaurant part). Oh well, chicken was good.

Went for a birthday dinner with a few friends on the 13th. The food was okay and my friends enjoyed what they ate. However, 2 of us came away with food poisoning. It was the only full meal I had eaten that day and it could only have been what I had at Chicken George. Neither of us have a sensitive stomach so were shocked when we both felt ill within 2 hours after we left. I'm aware of the rules surrounding food health and safety in catering, 2 of 6 guests walking away with food poisoning is no coincidence and is indicative of poor hygiene practices, spoiled, old or reheated food. Don't risk it, 3 days of excruciating pain isn't worth it for a mediocre, overpriced meal.

We’ve given 3 opportunities while trying different items on the menu, we will not be going back as the chicken is bland and chewy and only seems to be partially enjoyable you when cover in buckets of sauce/toppings. Overrated fast food.

One of the most delicious fast food, burger joints I’ve been to in a long time! This place is fun , quirky , incredible service and easy to find! We drove all the way from Cambridge to try their Tiktok sensational burger , and was truly astonished! They had such fun flavours and names for their burgers and wings. The pictures don’t do justice to their fantastic aromatic flavours! The waitress was super attentive , kind and welcoming’ she kept asking if everything was okay, thank you for a wonderful time! Hope to be back again soon!

This is the best place for wings . The flavours are amazing so many options . On this occasion I had the special which was coconut and jerk sauce wings which tasted amazing. Been a few times and every time I try a new flavour . Had there doner tots too they where amazing too felt like a little chicken doner in a bowl . So far my favourite flavour has been the mango rubicon .

I’ve been many many chicken shops from independents to chains and all are below in the pecking order .. award winning chicken wings.. this blows them all out of the water, please BELIEVE the hype! I drove out of my way a good two hours to visit chicken George jr after wanting to go for what seemed years. A opted for takeaway as I was in a rush to somewhere else but had to try as I was passing. They say food is sold by the eyes…well, i do anyway. if it looks the part, 9 times out of 10 you normally feel it’s better. Chicken George jr not only looks the part it taste the part. A delicious menu stuffed with variety of saucy themed flavours and quirky names. Overwhelmed for choice I ordered way more than necessary being not able to choose between the creative sounding choices. I tried 1 piece of original chicken on the bone and it was clucking massive, the slightly Salty seasoned skin with crisp and crunch deep fried to perfection..a fried chicken lovers dream. The award winning rubicon mango wings and my personal favourite buggies buffalo. The wings had the same skin and crunch and were Above avarage size. The buffalo wings were exactly what I wanted(needed) and up there with the best I’ve had. The creative rubicon mango is proberly the most creative wing I’ve ever had. A humble chicken wing evolved into its final form levels of flavours combining to give a complex taste that’s very unique and tasty. 2 burgers, the honey bbq deluxe and the chicken George whoppa. The honey bbq combined a comforting Smokey Turkey bacon flavour with the previously mentioned fried chicken and cheese. All glued together by a favourful but light ranch mayo. Now on to the chicken George whoppa.. wow .. now that’s a chicken burger. Even though there is an option to add fillets for £3 extra, as standard. The whoppa comes with 2. And absolute mouthwatering classic combination of sauces make this almost too much… almost! Finally I tried 5 no less stripes of the Thai me up flavour consisting of crushed peanuts spicy Thai sauce spring onion garlic and a lemongrass and coriander mayo Now, I can’t stand lemon grass. I can’t stand coriander either so the thought of that mayo all over those delicious wings had me nervous. i shouldn’t of worried I managed to eat them no problem because the delicacy of the herbs to mayo was so light I could blend the taste with peanut and garlic and it paired together so well. Also a Special shout out to the house made chilli sauce. Crushed chilli, spices and mint all swim together delivering that kebab house chilli taste but with a moorish creeping heat. 9.3/10

Chicken was so dry and fibrous in chicken wrap. Bad experience as my first time in Hitchin I hope the quality improves, if not I recommend adding dental floss to menu. Good luck 💪

One word, Amazing! Simply the best Chicken shop for miles and worth driving for. The red dragon tenders are delicious and you will not go wrong with the original boss burger. Can't attach any photos as I have eaten all of it and am stuffed

Food is always great, way better than KFC for similar prices. Probably your best all round option in Hitchin fried chicken wise. More expensive in resteraunt than takeaway, nd quite considerably depending on what you're having, IE tenders not being buyable as a meal, each component would have to be bought separately. I think similar for wings. I was fortunate in that they were doing a promo on eat in burger meals. Service is quick so not bad for a work lunch either. Just disappointed the luton branch has shut as it's closer to home Not very accessible directly being along hitchin main highstreet but worth the walk!

We love the food in chicken george and are regular hitchin customers however for my sons 16th birthday he wanted a takeaway from chicken george. I ordered the 10 piece family pack which would normally be sufficient for a family of 4. When I looked in the bag i only saw one small box of fries which would sufficiently feed 2 people. I took the box back in and the female informed me that they have reduced the amount of chips they provided with the family pack. However she did provide me with another box and apologised however stated that in future you will only get one small box chips with family pack. My issue is that had I not have noticed I would have not have had enough food to feed a family of 4. My advice would be not to order the 10 piece family pack clearly mis advertised and sadly a not enough chips to satisfy a family of four. Not had this previously so clearly trying to save money at the expense of customers and their reputation.

Didn’t receive all Items on delivery, raised with driver and he said would have to call store/gogetters. Store have denied missing items. Order arrived cold and portion sizes suprisingly small. One to avoid, all hype no substance….

Had high hopes seeing this place over social media being the 'Best chicken shop in the UK' but unfortunately the hype wasn't worth it. I ordered the bossman chicken burger which was extremely dry and cold, bare in mind I ate my meal literally within 3 minutes of it being ready! So for it to have been cold means it was likely not prepared fresh which you'd expect for the price they charge. I also ordered the mango Rubicon tenders which were so bland and again cold. Finally I had the maple sriracha burger and this was pretty decent but still nothing to write home about. Don't fall for the hype guys this place is definitely not the best chicken shop in the UK.

I’ve eaten in the restaurant a few times and had countless takeaways. Not your average fried chicken place! Favourites include the rubicon mango wings, maple sriracha wings and garlic parmesan strips.

This is probably the BEST fried chicken that I’ve ever had! All of the food tastes fresh and the portion sizes are really generous. The staff are efficient and the restaurant itself is well finished and a nice environment to be in. The food is definitely good value for money, I’m counting down the days until my next visit!

I'm not usually big on fried chicken but after being battered over the head so many times by friends to try Chicken George I finally found an opportunity to go when I owed my brother in law a trip for his birthday. Could not fault it at all, both got the Honey BBQ Delux. Absolutely superb! I only wish we ordered more, but as first timers safe to say we'll definitely be back!

Finally got to try this place after drooling on instagram photos for years! Great food and went down a treat! Only suggestion I could make is that it would have been nice to have some crinkle cut gherkins in the buffalo chicken burger but otherwise everything was bang on 🔥

This place is top quality chicken! And I was born in south London. Home of fried chicken. Had the rubicon wings, buffalo wings and fries. I had a can of rubicon and she had a pint of beer. I’ve had takeout three times before and it’s always delicious but it’s better eating in. Go through to the back on the left and see if they have a table. The foods really fresh, tasty and succulent. Can’t get much better in my opinion can’t wait to try a burger next time. Service is efficient and the atmosphere is good. Lots of hungry chicken eaters. It gets very busy and I’m not sure if you can book a table or not. If you’re waiting for food you can also play their arcade machine by the front door. Will definitely go again.

This place is super busy, but that is just more of a highlight as to how good the food is. We went at 1pm and it was packed. Don't forget to book!

Awful Service My partner and I went in on Saturday 16/03/24 during lunch time. It was our first time here and we were really excited to try the food. However, we were met with the most rude service I’ve ever received at any establishment, so we left and didn’t bother eating here. We walked in and there was no one to greet us or show us to a table, so we assumed that you just walk in and grab an available table, but we still wanted to confirm with a member of staff. There was a lady wearing a headscarf who was clearing tables, we politely asked her if we have to wait to be seated, to which she replied “well yeah you have to wait” in the most arrogant tone and walked off. We were then told by someone else that there’s a 25 minute wait. By then we had lost all our desire to dine here, we won’t be coming back.

Fantastic food and the portions are very generous, so much better than the @#C found on many a high street and retail park

I ordered food for 2 people and I’ve had to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes, and this is not the first time I’ve had to wait more than 2 hours with no offer for discounts or anything. I do not recommend ordering online !!

They need to balance out the seasoning properly it always to salty

I see why people like it and I would come here again but the chicken is just OK. I'd come here because its a fun place to go.
