Star Express Cafe in North Hertfordshire

Visited with my parents and daughter and her family, ages from 18 months to 85 years. Basic food, but very fresh and hot and very generous portions. The staff are excellent! Helpful, friendly and very accommodating. It was very busy, which is always a good sign. Nothing not to like.

Well price's are good and the food is lovely hot and everyone is polite we will come again the place is clean and the coffee is good

A lovely spot to dine with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The food, while quite basic and nothing particularly outstanding, is still enjoyable. I still find myself going back whenever I can!

I had a breakfast here today. It was very good and reasonable price. The staff were friendly and efficient I will definitely be coming back again, without a doubt the best cafe in this area.

I have had the best burger ever today in this lovely cafe. The coffee was amazing and the staff were very nice. All for less than £10, very happy and I will be coming back again soon to try the breakfast as they looked so good.

Eat here often. Friendly staff, never have to wait long, food always good. Reasonable amount of road side parking bays outside.

Reasonable food and decent portions. Fast and friendly service. What we call in England a greasy spoon, this happens to be a decent one.

Don't know the area at all, walked round looked at a few coffee shops seemed pricey for a brew, and was all prepacked heat up behind the counter jobs. Saw a road worker by his van, asked him if he new any decent places for a fry up, he suggested hitchin lol. As I was walking away he said hang on there a place down there called star.. So ended up in here, very clean, nice and pleasant staff at counter waiting. Food prices on par with similar styled cafes. Good selection, food and tea came out piping hot and fresh. Can't fault anything. Will use again if in the area. Was eating on my own as only in area as motorbike having work done in the area. Felt welcome and didn't feel uncomfortable at all like you can eating in some places when on your tod. Thanks guys

Star Express is our new go to café for breakfast. We used to go to Three Magnets in Letchworth but they were very hit and miss. Star Express has been great every single time (we go at least twice a week). Very fast and friendly service, great food and lovely customers. Nice casual atmosphere.

It says its a vegetarian cafe and deli but it's not. It does good food is clean and friendly. My only complaint was the sausage it was not my favorite part of my breakfast. That will not stop us from going back here again. I do think they also have veggie options.

Food was alright, staff very nice but over £14 for a omelette chips and a coffee is to much for a cafe breakfast,

A nice little café, we come here every week or so for lunch. The staff are all lovely, food is served quickly and it’s cheap too. Been coming here since I was a kid, love it every time.

This is an excellent place to eat but I must admit they need to start excepting card payments rather than just cash, most people use card now, please look into this, and keep up the brilliant work, the food is amazing and good value for money 👍🏻

Absolutely loved going to Star! Had an excellent breakfast (at around 2:15) and it sorted everything out! Would come back to try the multiple choices on the menu!

Best place for brekkie or a light lunch, the waitress always helpful and friendly. Food is great value but still cash only which is a pain as nobody really carries cash these days. One star kept back till you get a card machine ....🙂

Me and my wife love to have a good breakfast a couple of times a month and we have tried a fair few differents cafes, Star Express is just brilliant, the best in our area, lovely fresh cooked food at a reasonable price, clean, plenty of seating and the staff are lovely and friendly, 5* easy.

A little gem in Letchworth. Best place for freshley cooked hot breakfasts, dinners , lighter bites and hot tea and coffee. The staff so friendly and they keep the cafe spotless clean . Excellent excellent 👏 👌 👍

Excellent breakfast and friendly service provided by staff. Service was quick and food and drinks (hot chocolate) were a good standard. Cafe was clean and staff were taking appropriate precautions.

Tend to stop here whenever we're in town and hungry. Not the most posh establishment on the street, but the food is ok, it comes quick, and the staff has always been nice.

“Best Cafe in Town” proudly display on the window - hard to argue with that statement after our visit today. Food was brilliant, all cooked fresh to order and served piping hot, decent bit of bacon - even the drinks were spot on! Thanks fellas 👍

Pop in here for a bit to eat. Steak and kiderny pie and chip. So teasty . Great service.

After walking out of a cafe in a local supermarket, we were greeted by a friendly lady, who served us quickly, helped us with what we would like from the menu, the food was hot, and delicious! Prices have gone up a lot lol but was happy with what we got for that.. the fact they made our process simple was worth it.. and the girls got a lolly, so sweet!

Don't know how this place has such a high rating, the woman in there is rubbing every knife and fork with her own hands before wrapping it in tissue, the food was terrible, the beans were mushy, egg was mushy and the sausage was even worse, skin peeling and also mushy, would not recommend, don't know how it has such a high rating

The other half and I Decided to go here seemed nice enough she ordered the gammon and the peas looked like they have been hot held for a few days my meal was nice but I ordered sausage chips and egg didn’t get any sausage at all also ordered a milkshake as the menu says milkshakes served with ice cream no ice cream and was just a glass of milk with chocolate in the bottom had to mix myself wasn’t happy as the other half was really hungry and she hardly eaten any of her meal. Not going back not worth the money

Nipped in today for the first time. It's much like a cafe that I used to frequent when I lived in Royston (Moreno). Cheap & cheerful - staff seemed alright, if a bit quiet/humble. Food was good, coffee was strong - brunch and coffee for £6.70 set me up for the day. Cheers!
