A lovely afternoon at the Glasshouse. I was catered for by Sean who went above and beyond. He was attentive throughout, made us delicious drinks and never left us waiting. Thank you Sean and the team and Glasshouse.

Went to have a drink on a Saturday around 4:30pm. Lots of people seated but only one other person waiting to be served at the bar. We waited 10 minutes, there were four staff members all serving up the same order and nobody acknowledged our presence, even after one or two had made eye contact. We were only a couple of metres away so could clearly be seen waiting. We gave up and went down the road to Bridgetown Monroe where we received fantastic, friendly service and there was a great atmosphere. Sadly it’s gone massively downhill since the change from P&P.

Great bar in the middle of town! Themed events and live gigs are really worth going to and make sure you pre book ahead of time as they do sell out. Drink prices are very reasonable and the food really hit the spot. Staff are super friendly which I think makes all difference.

I really think this bar needs new management/ownership. it’s becoming the embarrassment of Hitchin . If faulty towers was a bar they’d rename it the glasshouse

Booked a bottomless brunch, got our first drink 40 minutes later. The place was not busy but they only had one poor girl working. We had 2 drinks in an hour and half. Really slow, Ruined the vibe and we just wanted to leave. We did complain and they gave us extra time but we had other places booked. Really poor bottomless brunch. People who were at the bar got drinks straight away but we Wernt allowed to go to the bar. Food was nice but would not recommend to book the brunch.

Service is friendly but very slow. Only about 5 tables in here and was over 40mins to get food. Not enough, or not experienced enough staff. Food took ages and kids starter came out with half missing, kitchen didn’t even know the menu. Thought maybe with a new name it would be better but again leaving disappointed at what should be a busy venue in the centre of hitchin.

Visited after a meal out, and was left disappointed. Huge TV screens line the top of the bar which detracts from the atmosphere, as did the tacky Halloween decorations. The two cocktails we ordered were around £10 each. The drinks took a long time to make and ingredients were missing (candyfloss? Not sure my drink was supposed to even have it!)

We met relatives for lunch. The waitress was lovely and helpful. The food was tasty. The overall experience was was marred because of where we were sat. At the back in front of the photo booth. The tables seemed to have been squeezed in as they were next to what I presume was a store room. During our visit I had to move four times to enable a member of staff to get into it. Once would have been enough, but four times was very annoying.

Went to Hitchin for pumpkin farm and came across this gastropub. Food and atmosphere were excellent.

The is the new place to be in Hitchin Town. Watched a singer live on a Saturday evening followed by a DJ. It was a great night with a friendly vibe and bar team.

Slow service, food is not great the portion sizes are small considering how much you are paying. The staff lost our drink orders multiple times throughout the 2 hours we had for bottomless brunch. Atmosphere was nice which is really the only positive of my experience. I would not come back

We had booked a bottomless brunch for today. We got seated, 20 minutes went by and nobody approached us. We had to call a waiter to order. We then waited an additional 30 minutes for a bottle because we did not trust them to fill up a glass each time. Our food came 50 minutes after our original booking time. We ordered an starter which never arrived. After asking for the bill we had to wait an additional 20 minutes and reminded them 3 times. Will not be returning sadly. There were multiple tables around us with the same situation . Nice atmosphere but horrendous wait staff!

I went here for a bottomless brunch on a Saturday evening with a large group to celebrate my cousins birthday. When the brunch started it became clear quite quickly that the staff were short and struggling. The group I was with were all quite understanding so we just waited patiently for our first drinks. Some of us were waiting for 40+ minutes for our first drinks, and as we’d paid for bottomless this was really disappointing. We felt like we weren’t getting to take advantage of the time we had to enjoy bottomless drinks. Some of the group gave up waiting entirely and went to the bar to pay for extra drinks. Our main waiter actually turned out to be the head chef, he was helping out with serving because of the short staffing. He was brilliant and did his best to provide a good service, we really appreciated him because he really was trying his best. However, he even said himself ‘I don’t know how to make cocktails so I’ll just bring all the syrups to the table and you guys can make them yourselves’. Obviously this wasn’t an ideal situation but we just tried to make do and enjoy the night regardless but to be honest I think this is completely unacceptable considering we paid £39 a head to make our own cocktails! When the food also eventually arrived, a lot of our food was cold and looked like it had just been chucked together in a rush. Like I said it was obvious the shift was understaffed, so this review is in no way directed towards the staff. They were all very apologetic and were clearly just trying to do their best. I just think that if the shift is anticipated to be unable to meet expectations, then the booking should be cancelled. What I think is unacceptable is to take the money (£500+) and provide a poor service. One of our group went to the manager to complain, and I will say that the manager kindly extended our slot to account for the 40+ minute wait time for our first drinks. All in all the evening was poor, which is a shame because my cousin booked this place to celebrate her birthday because she has been there loads before and always had such an amazing time!

Went for the bottomless brunch which always used to be great with 5 friends. We booked for 5pm and weren’t even served or approached for our first drinks until gone 5.30. Despite it being quiet and plenty of staff, we weren’t regularly topped up and asked different waiting staff numerous times for more drinks, which never appeared. Seems they have employed lots of underage staff (cheaper wages) to cover tables, but who aren’t able to pour drinks, so 2 people behind the bar are struggling to keep up. With orders missed and drinks that never turn up, it was poor value for a ‘bottomless’ experience when you end up with just 3 drinks in 2 hours. Food was average, cold chips etc. Very disappointed considering the brunches used to be good. Won’t return for this.

Had a nice lunch with a friend . We were served by Danni who was really helpful and friendly . There were a few items not available but we. It’s opted for the sandwiches with chunky chips and really enjoyed them .

The team were able fit a large group of 14 in with a week's notice after another restaurant let us down. It was the day of a change of ownership and both the food and service were very good! They even stored and brought out a cake we brought in for pudding, which was a lovely touch. Will go here again!

Pretty decor, great atmosphere and good food, cant go wrong :) Perfect for a catch up, party, dinner or cocktail night! Even had a DJ come after 9pm to liven up the night.

Dreadful service. We booked a bottomless brunch, it took 20 minutes from being seated to recieve our first drinks. We were not offered any more, a waiter came over and took a 2nd drinks order but we ended up going to get our own drinks at the bar. The food took almost 2 hours to come out and after chasing it after about 90minutes they didn't have the food we ordered.we ended up collecting our own food from the kitchen as there was only 2 floor staff. When we asked why there is such a delay we were given numerous excuses, we have been in before to bottomless brunch with a full restraint and never recievd this kind of service. I do have to say whilst the service was so poor one particular lady on the floor was super helpful

Upon arrival, we were told to seat ourselves. We placed our drinks orders almost instantly and asked for the 2 for 1 cocktails. After waiting 45 minutes and complaining twice, we received our first drink and not the second one on the offer (this arrived just after an hour). The wait for the food was equally as long, waiting for atleast another hour after ordering before the food was presented. Overall the quality of the food was incredible, and the cocktails were really good, but the service was far too slow and only one server seemed to know what he was doing.

Not sure where to start really with this one, but will start with this was the singular worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant/bar. I will start by saying our group of 8 were very aware that Hitchin was busy for the Busted gig at The Priory, but the Pitcher and Piano was absolutely deserted when we got there, maybe only 5-6 tables total on the entire floor in use. It remained this way for over an hour as well. There also appeared to be only one person seating people only, but 4-5 bar staff on. Bearing in mind the place was deserted for this length of time, we had already seen the few people in there complaining how long they were waiting and the poor quality of the food. On top of this, we were left 25 minutes without a drinks order being taken (we had to ask someone to come and take it). We were then left a further 25 minutes without any drinks being brought to us, and floor staff were less than helpful. We went to the bar and discovered that they hadn’t bothered making the drinks yet as they had to go out and physically buy the ingredients for two of our parties cocktails (if you haven’t got the stuff, take it off the menu for that evening!). We had to bring all our own drinks back. In this time, we still had not had a food order taken, but there were people starting to come in and be seated, plus there were tables being served before us that were seated after us! There were people waiting at tables for over half hour drinks who just upped and left, and the staff bringing drinks around looked baffled as to why people were leaving! We finally got our food ordered but had to wait over 45 minutes. To add to this, I went to the bar to get more drinks as this seemed logical to do, as they had very few people up there and waiting for someone to take our order seemed pointless. This was an absolutely awful decision in the end. Over 25 minutes at the bar just to get a beer and a coke. The people making cocktails had no idea what they were doing, had no control over the queue and kept serving people out of order. When what looked like the bar manager actually taking command and telling someone cleaning the same shot glass for 10 minutes to serve, they totally ignored me - next in line - and went to the other end of the bar! Got my drinks eventually. I returned to the table, and food still wasnt there and staff didn’t care whether we had food or not. They even made one starter wrong and the attitude was well you might as well keep it now. After some time we had enough and went to the kitchen and all our food was just sat there, so we got our own food too. My Wife and our friend are both pregnant and ordered burgers…the meat was raw, and this nearly flipped me over the edge. Others food was burnt and inedible too. We had enough, refused to pay for anything for the sheer poor service and lack of empathy and walked out. People were complaining at every table, they couldn’t cope with the volume and didn’t seem to care much. If you cannot cope, stop seating people, focus on the floor and clear your backlog. So many people were complaining about their food and services it was quite shocking. We will never return here again, as clearly your system and team simply doesn’t click, dont want to serve people with a smile and cannot cope with small volumes of people

Thought I would try this place again as I heard that it was under new management, all i can say is that i was not disappointed. From the warm welcome as soon as I entered the property to the flawless table service and great food there was not a single issue I could find . I will be returning. Used to come a lot when Pitch & Piano and the food was good. Menu change with the name change and had a simple Caeser salad with passed its best lettuce most could not be eaten and the salad on my friends order was off. Told manager that wasn’t bothered and just said he would let the kitchen know not even an apology. Service is painfully slow.

Great service from Danni and Luke for our business lunch with 35 people. Not an easy feat, but we were all served quickly and they were very friendly to all.

Absolutely horrendous. I had booked this place for a birthday meal for my daughter and had received email confirmation. I had also detailed that the booking was for my daughter’s birthday in the section for ‘special occasion’. When we arrived at the restaurant nobody greeted us for 5-10 minutes, then a chap appeared and said we could sit anywhere. He said there was only one person in the kitchen so food was going to be about a 15-20 minute wait. We were not given menus, or told how to order, no drinks order, absolutely nothing. One waiter was standing on the front steps smoking as we arrived. After sitting for 15 minutes we got up and left and ended up in the most amazing restaurant, Lussmanns, where we received a lovely warm welcome, cosy atmosphere, amazing food and even a surprise birthday ice cream with a candle. Would never go back to Pitcher and Piano again - zero welcome, zero atmosphere and it would appear zero food.

Such a disappointment. No atmosphere until we asked for music. Only one till Open so bar staff struggling to serve on good time.

Maybe they were having an off day but our experience was awful. We had reserved for 7 and they squashed us onto a smaller table. It took 45 minutes for someone to take our food order and then 15 more minutes for them to return and say that half of the things we ordered weren’t on the menu tonight. Ordering drinks at the bar took 30 minutes despite how quiet it was and how many staff were working, and the drinks came to us wrong. In the end we left early without eating.

Had an absolutely amazing time last week with my boyfriend. the ambience is amazing and the drinks are lovely. served by Dan on the bar. what a lovely chap so friendly and funny really made the night !! can’t wait to come again

Had a table booked for 5pm for my fiancés birthday dinner, was left waiting for ages at the front desk, that we took ourselves to the bar to tell the only person working in there that we had a table booked, starters were mediocre, we had to chase up our mains after over an hour wait (bare in mind I am heavily pregnant and we had a 3 year old with us) for them have everyone’s food arrive apart from my sister’s, who was then left waiting again. What was supposed to be a lovely evening was unfortunately not very enjoyable at all! Whole thing felt very unorganised, great place for drinks but deffo would not recommended booking for dinner.

I love Pitcher & Pianos Bottomless Brunch. The food and drinks are so tasty! All of the staff are so lovely. Special thanks to Freya who has looked after us well a couple of times now. Can’t wait to go back on the weekend!

Already at the entrance it seemed there was no staff, we were waiting almost 10 minutes to get a table, none of the staff showed up. Then the surprises once seated. We asked for dishes and systematically the waiter came back to tell us that they didn't have that dish. This 4/5 times. The steak was very salty and of very low quality. When it came to desserts, an ice cream and a lemon tart, those were not there either. But the waiters knew nothing, each time they accepted the order and then came back apologizing that that product was finished. Highly recommend to avoid, it seems like a joke more than a restaurant. Better mcdonald's.

What a great place to boogie the night away. New management have really made an effort to make this the place great again. New menu is amazing too.

Shared some small plate food with friends, unfortunately they were out of a couple of things and no sweet potato fries, even though it was early Saturday afternoon. The service was pretty slow even though it wasn't particularly busy. Ordered a gin and mixer and it was served in a tumbler filled to the top so could only taste the mixer. Overall food was fine but drink and service were average so probably won't return

Our waitress Danni was so attentive and came to show us to a table straight away! Good conversation and great service!! Even let us down gently on the fact that they had just used up the last of the cheese!! Good atmosphere for a Wednesday afternoon! Danni made our lunch with a visitor from Miami really enjoyable! 6 stars but that wasn’t an option.

Great drinks and atmosphere but takes absolutely forever to get a drink as only two bar staff on despite it being a busy Sat night and most customers ordered cocktails which obviously take a while to make.

Very disappointing. My partner had her baby shower here and the party had to pre order food which isn't a problem until you turn up & half items aren't available. Had to swap their items for cheaper alternatives but no refund was offered or anything. Not what you expect when the pre orders had to be made 1 week before arrival. Food was disappointing but the staff were very accommodating, polite and attentive.

Usually go for lunch here on a Saturday, always been o.k., but on the last 3 occasions it's been awful, we ordered a sharing plate, the vry last time, supposedly for 2-3 people, my 7 year old would've ate it on her own, was told by waiter 'it's the spec mate!' Not sure what was meant by that. Then, On the 2nd last occasion we ordered fish & chips, the fish was orange and rubber, and full of water?? ..... so needless to say we won't be back sadly.

The service was brilliant, however the brunch meal was so tiny, it was too minimal. I had the avocado on toast and it was absolutely minimal, one egg, a few slices of avocado and one piece of bread. Not enough for the price.

Me and my partner came to have food last Sunday. The food was some of the best I've had there! The chef's who worked Sunday lunch time/day produced good food! We had two girls serving us, Phoebe and Simran, both gave great service and couldn't fault them in the slightest. Also the guy that welcomed us was polite also. Went for lunch with two close friends. I had an avocado ceasar salad with added grilled chicken! (Highly recommend, its a wonderful dish). Food came out quickly, waiters checked in frequently, the water came in a funky little glass that I liked a lot. The atmosphere was amazing and welcoming for queer folks like myself, and I will absolutely be coming back soon! The food is also well priced for how amazing it was, my large platter salad and breakfast tea pot was only £16.85 :) Love it!
