Pixmore Cafe in North Hertfordshire

Breakfast was good but the old girl at the till was rude and unhelpful

Its just a lovely honest old cafe food always comes piping hot, the waiting time leaves a bit to be desired but worth the wait

Waited over an hour for food, when it arrived was cold,hard, unappetising and mainly inedible. The place is dirty and in disrepair, the toilet is through the end of the kitchen and outside,where they dry their tea towels on an airer with some of them dragging on the floor, the toilet door doesn't lock and bubble wrap on the window. Saw a rat scurrying outside. Furniture broken. Ok if you want a flash back to the 80's which is about the last time it was decorated by it's appearance along with it's televisions and music. The staff walking around whistling tunelessly and loudly is not what I would call good customer care or service, they actually managed to forget half the order which was an entire meal for one person. I could say more. Avoid at all costs.

Fair prices and great customer service.

Phoned an order through, asked for a toasted sandwich with ketchup. Wasn't toasted and no sause, not imressed.

Propa builders cafe, has some real character. Lovely ladies serving, been there since 2007. A must see is the 2 25 year old tvs haha. Propa bit of food propa bit of service. Yes I would come again.

Visited Jul2022 for an all-day breakfast while the car was in for a service. A very functional cafe with friendly staff and very prompt service. Made for the workers. Did the job just right.

Set breakfast. Was difficult to tell the toast from the bread and butter. Taste was average. Like most cafes very poor sausage quality. One measly piece of bacon. If there was a bit more and the quality was better this place would be so much better,and the owner would be coining it in.. The customers need value for money. Don't scrimp on your ingredients it doesn't pay in the long term.

proper builders cafe. had a breakfast baguette (sausage egg bacon mushrooms) for £5 perfect price. latte £2.

Nice local feel, friendly staff. They have recently had a tap and pay machine installed (halleluiah) after previously being a cash only business. Who does cash these days?

Great value and beautifully cooked - I had the special breakfast and it was all lovely. The hash browns were just perfect.

Worst cafe I have ever eaten in. The cheapest nasty sausages, that have been cooked, reheated, reheated and reheated.

Actually for what is a trucker style cafe - this place is really good. Highly recommend - Jackie and Jo are excellent and a credit to check this place. Pixmore cafe needs some positive marketing - As extremely underrated.

Whilst our car was being serviced we decided to get some breakfast and this Cafe was recommended - we were not disappointed at all. The Baguette of egg bacon and mushrooms was just lovely, nice fresh baguette and the content was cooked beautifully. My husband had a full English with a choice of hash browns or chips, tomatoes or beans, or both. Had a great breakfast for £11.50 with strong tea too - so next time we are in the area we will be popping in again. Well dome Pixmore Cafe staff.

All day breakfast is brilliant proper old fashioned cafe if you want good basic British food look no further.

A few friends popped here for a late breakfast on a Saturday and it was all very good. The service was excellent and the speed our food came was fast. All at a good price.

I go here occasionally when I need a fry up. Consistently good. Value for money and hot plates is slightly offset by the sometimes interminable wait after order placement for no apparent reason. It's a cafe. It does breakfast. What more do you want?

This appears as what used to be called a transport cafe, but there is a difference as they offer daily specials including chilli and curry. The food and service were average and the atmosphere was of "a fry up" as the kitchen is not closed from the cafe.

On a recent visit my friend and I sat in amazement watching a member of the kitchen staff in the dining area with a finger stuffed up his nose. When he had finished we watched as he returned to the kitchen whilst walking straight past the sink. Hygiene! I doubt he could spell the word.

been here a few times now, the Special Breakfast is a beast, great value and very tastey, the staff are very welcoming and friendly, parking can be awkward if the small car park is shut but its definately worth trying as food and staff are so good

I have been to this cafe many times for lunch and never been disappointed. It's not a place to go for fine dining but if you want a mug of tea and a sandwich it is great. They do a great curry or Chili on request. I also like their ham egg and chips! Really friendly people who look after their customers and don't charge the earth.

The Pixmore Cafe is a small informal breakfast and lunch restaurant established many years ago and serving mostly workers in the local area. Privately owned it is certainly not the place to go if you're expecting a white tablecloth and overbearing staff........but if you want a fantastic breakfast at 7.00am, I doubt there's anywhere better in the area. Their lunch menu includes homemade curries, chilli-con-carne, burgers, first class ham and naturally chips are available throughout the day.If you're after good food, served in an informal setting, the Pixmore Cafe is thoroughly recommended.
