The best restaurants serving British food in Brentwood East of England

Just found this place on our drive home… oh my god wonderful, sandwich filling was so tasty and full of flavour, did not taste cheap and cheerful in the slightest! Lovely sausage rolls too ! The chicken and bacon mayo sandwich was to die for, full of flavour. Five stars :)

We hired this venue for my mums 80th party and could not be more pleased with everything it provides It was a extremely hot day but unlike a lot of hire venues it is fully air conditioned Very good facilities , well stocked bar The food which is cooked on site and we had a three course roast dinner was absolutely beautiful all fresh and served promptly and with style The staff were extremely friendly and helpful A very good size venue with dance floor , stage area and lovely decor I could not of chose a better venue and will recommend and use again without hesitation

Came actually by accident, but had a lovely breakfast and coffee From outside you wouldn’t know what was inside, but it’s well worth a visit

Nice, clean and friendly very helpful. Food tasty and nice to see lots of variety. We don’t all like the traditional . Glad to see them back after they left lakeside.

Sunday lunch at The Bricklayers Arms was lovely. A real homely pub with amazing roast dinner! I had the toasted chicken which was cooked to perfection. My husband has the toast lamb which was also lovely! Roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings meant we were so full!!

Had a Sunday roast at this venue, all fresh vegetables, home made Yorkshire pudding I found that the vegetables wasn't seasoned, personally I don't like to add salt to my dinner but today I had to to add salt to give it taste, even the roast potatoes were bland, probably maris pipers which are not the best for roast potatoes, good size dinner

Amazing as always . Staff are great and very attentive and always lovely. Food is amazing and we love coming here

London prices in Brentwood, burger and chips and steak bun and chips, 2 coffees was £43 Coffee was ok Chips were overcooked and burger greasey .. won’t be returning

Visited for the first time on a very busy Saturday evening this interesting restaurant in a very attractive small town just of the high street. Its a modern bar/restaurant with an area outside for eating too with free parking. The staff are very friendly and the service was attentive the whole evening. The Asian menu offers main meals or tapas with the best of ingredients used.

Was welcomed by a lovely polite and attentive member of staff. Tables nice and clean. Ordered an egg sandwich which came in lovely fresh granary bread and a fresh side salad. Will definitely go back.

A nice friendly staff and interesting antiques and a nice tea and coffee the lady who owns it was very knowledgeable it was nice and relaxed atmosphere, would visit again, prices reasonable.

Appalling behaviour from the server, having clearly specified we would be attending with two dogs at the time of booking we agreed we would be seated in the conservatory area which we were informed was dog friendly. Upon arrival the server who came to the door looked down his nose and refused seating stating the dogs had wet paws. Given it was raining of course they were going to have wet paws but they were clean having just been showered from a walk. He stated the floor would be stained as it’s porcelain, which is nonsensical given we also had wet soles of our shoes from the rain. How is the conservatory dog friendly if that’s the case?! His attitude was abhorrent. Never have we been made to feel so beneath someone. He clearly did not want the service and as result we will never return so such a degrading environment.

Christmas Day and Boxing Day 2024. Great food on both days. The restaurant was well managed by the waiting team, and the lounge areas were very inviting. Log fires and tasteful Christmas decorations. Excellent communication from friendly staff including, David and Annette.

Always very friendly and helpful. Beautiful old village pub with an atmosphere to match. A great local.

I visited with my best friend to celebrate her 40th birthday. From the start when I booked amazing service from Ryan who was so lovely and helpful. On the day from arriving to when we left the service was amazing, staff so lovely and friendly and the food/drink was stunning. Absolutely perfect afternoon and can’t wait to visit again.
