The best restaurants serving British food in Brentwood East of England

Just found this place on our drive home… oh my god wonderful, sandwich filling was so tasty and full of flavour, did not taste cheap and cheerful in the slightest! Lovely sausage rolls too ! The chicken and bacon mayo sandwich was to die for, full of flavour. Five stars :)

We hired this venue for my mums 80th party and could not be more pleased with everything it provides It was a extremely hot day but unlike a lot of hire venues it is fully air conditioned Very good facilities , well stocked bar The food which is cooked on site and we had a three course roast dinner was absolutely beautiful all fresh and served promptly and with style The staff were extremely friendly and helpful A very good size venue with dance floor , stage area and lovely decor I could not of chose a better venue and will recommend and use again without hesitation

Nice, clean and friendly very helpful. Food tasty and nice to see lots of variety. We don’t all like the traditional . Glad to see them back after they left lakeside.

Came actually by accident, but had a lovely breakfast and coffee From outside you wouldn’t know what was inside, but it’s well worth a visit

Fabulous food from the Brick’s Christmas menu. I think we’ve covered every option in our three visits this month and every choice was excellent. Very generous portions and the service was great too. Nothing was too much trouble, from topping up drinks to getting sauces and giving us time to digest each course. I’d thoroughly recommend a visit - the normal menu is very good too! We received superb service from Soph and Cosmin. The food was tasty and plentiful, very good. Clean and cosy restaurant. It was given a 5 star health inspection while we were there.

We hosted my son and future daughter in laws engagement party at TBK. Superb Intimate venue, great service, great food. Organising the event was easy with the help of Sam to arrange food and welcome drinks. Would recommend to anyone!!!

Appalling behaviour from the server, having clearly specified we would be attending with two dogs at the time of booking we agreed we would be seated in the conservatory area which we were informed was dog friendly. Upon arrival, the pretentious and arrogant bald male who came to the door looked down his nose and refused seating stating the dogs had wet paws. Given it was raining of course they were going to have wet paws but they were clean having just been showered from a walk. He stated the floor would be stained as it’s porcelain, which is nonsensical given we also had wet soles of our shoes from the rain. How is the conservatory dog friendly if that’s the case?! His attitude was vile and never have we been made to feel so beneath someone. He clearly did not want the service and as result we will never return so such a degrading environment.

Visited for the first time on a very busy Saturday evening this interesting restaurant in a very attractive small town just of the high street. Its a modern bar/restaurant with an area outside for eating too with free parking. The staff are very friendly and the service was attentive the whole evening. The Asian menu offers main meals or tapas with the best of ingredients used.

Was welcomed by a lovely polite and attentive member of staff. Tables nice and clean. Ordered an egg sandwich which came in lovely fresh granary bread and a fresh side salad. Will definitely go back.

A nice friendly staff and interesting antiques and a nice tea and coffee the lady who owns it was very knowledgeable it was nice and relaxed atmosphere, would visit again, prices reasonable.

Had a Sunday roast at this venue, all fresh vegetables, home made Yorkshire pudding I found that the vegetables wasn't seasoned, personally I don't like to add salt to my dinner but today I had to to add salt to give it taste, even the roast potatoes were bland, probably maris pipers which are not the best for roast potatoes, good size dinner

Great pub. Four of us popped in for lunch today. Food was excellent and great value. Will come again

We celebrated Christmas lunch at Alec’s restaurant this year and it was an absolute delight. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations! The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the staff greeted us with big smiles and made us feel immediately at home. The service was impeccable. Even though the restaurant was busy, they ensured we never had to wait long for anything. For the main course, I opted for the roast turkey with all the classic trimmings. The turkey was tender and perfectly seasoned. We all left feeling full, happy and already looking forward to our next visit!

Dined here for Boxing Day lunch. The food was absolutely delicious! The best roast ever! Also the service was exemplary. Can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to go back!!
