The Lounge Ingatestone in Brentwood

Visited for the first time on a very busy Saturday evening this interesting restaurant in a very attractive small town just of the high street. Its a modern bar/restaurant with an area outside for eating too with free parking. The staff are very friendly and the service was attentive the whole evening. The Asian menu offers main meals or tapas with the best of ingredients used.

I have several food allergies as do my 2 children, we are extremely difficult to cater for to say the least but that didn't phase the staff at NOKA. They made our evening as stress free as possible. Not only that, the food was absolutely delicious! I cant thank the staff enough for all their help and efforts!

Excellent from start to finish! What an amazing birthday treat. We had wanted to try Noka for some time and my wonderful husband booked us a table last night as a birthday surprise. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left the staff were amazing and attentive. The food was equally amazing with a great variety for veggies as well, my birthday we just great!!! We will certainly be returning and would like to thank Jess, Evie and Kai for making it such a lovely evening.

A very small and intimate restaurant. Not many tables so certainly worth booking. Perfect for couples or small groups. It was very quiet when we arrived which always makes you worry a bit but I can only assume it’s because the restaurant is still a bit new and word isn’t out yet as there is certainly no concern once you sit down and start eating. The food is absolutely delicious. Generous portions and the staff can’t do enough for you. Highly recommend this place and will absolutely be back soon!

Went to Noka for an early Father’s Day treat for my dad. Firstly the two ladies that served us were so pleasant and helpful. Perfect service, not pushy but attentive. We mentioned to each other that it was loud as we walked in and they immediately turned down the music. Our food was cooked to perfection. Every dish was delicious and my parents enjoyed trying flavours that they would not of normally tried. So surprised it wasn’t busier as it really has it all with a lovely outside terrace to add to the indoor seating. Thank you for a very pleasant experience

First time at Nova Lounge and I was very impressed. The service is first class and the manager Jess couldn’t have done anymore. I would highly recommend this place.

Give your table away even though you have booked a table and get told you can sit at the bar. Staff rude!

There’s nothing worse than having to eat with your coat on! It was warmer outside under the heaters than it was inside the restaurant. There was no apology or explanation from the staff on why there was no heating. In hindsight we should have just left straight away (like the couple before us did) but we thought it may warm up. WRONG! Food was OK nothing special , the only dish that I’d recommend was the lobster and prawn toast. Shame as it had the potential for a nice meal but the arctic temperatures and the total lack of any recognition or apology ruined it before it got started. We will not be returning and will not recommend it to anyone. If you want a great experience and great Asian meal go to Zenxi at Brentwood ski slope not Noka.

I had an amazing evening at Noka with a group of friends. The ambiance was great, the service was spot on, and the menu was incredibly enticing. We ordered a lot of things to share and everything hit the spot (especially the dragon roll!). Cocktails were delicious as well! We will definitely be coming back

Went to Noka on Friday with a group of very close friends. The cocktails were outstanding and all the food was impeccable. You cannot leave without having the cauliflower and the beef tataki. The sushi is amazing too.

Had a wonderful meal on Friday night. We tried a lot of starters and sushi dishes which were all delicious but must mention the pork belly which was the star of the show. To top it all off there was an excellent DJ and saxophonist! Definitely coming back soon!

I had previously only been to Noka for one of their amazing bottomless brunches, but this time I brought my hubby and kids along. The kids are usually quite picky, but they loved the food (especially the prawns!) Staff were very friendly and attentive, will definitely be coming back again with some more of the family. Went with a small group of friends and we all shared various dishes, great menu selection and we were really impressed by the quality of each dish! Would go back again to try the rest of the menu. Later in the evening they had a saxophone and DJ come in, this was a great bit of evening entertainment - she was fabulous!

I was recommended Noka by a close friend who had been for bottomless brunch (which was apparently amazing!). I went with my husband and two children and there were no complaints - really friendly and helpful staff, INCREDIBLE food and general ambiance was 10/10 We all shared plates together which worked really well - plates are big enough that we each got to try a bit of everything. I hear they have lively evenings as well with a DJ so I will certainly be returning.

Discovered this place a few months ago on our first visit to Ingatestone. It immediately became our goto spot whenever we are in the town as we work our way through the lunchtime menu. Each dish is a pleasant surprise. Particular mention has to go to the Asian Tacos with squid cooked to a perfection I have rarely seen and green mango. Friendly attentive staff also go a long way to making this a favourite.

The food is worth it’s value and feels really well done.The meat bento was a great meal containing many different tastes all of which were as flavourful as the last.I liked the range of cocktails available.It is a great place to take people you care about would eat there again.

What a change from the normal drab food menus around this part of the world. I can tell you now Noka really spiced up my evening. I had the cauliflower rice and veggie gyozas and a cheeky cocktail and it was divine!

On what was obviously a very busy night, the service was exceptional. When you would think they would be in panic mode whilst under stress, Craig, our waiter for the evening, performed excellently while remaining calm. He was extremely polite, could answer our questions and I must add, looked very smart and professional too. My family and I had an excellent evening and look forward to being served by Craig again.

Had a super evening trying out Noka, after hearing amazing things from several friends, it really did live up to the hype. The vibe, food and service was on point throughout the evening! Seriously good asian tapas, the vibe is perfect for a big Saturday night. Major highlights go to the tuna maki and the teriyaki beef. The only local spot that caters for high end asian food.A great balance between atmosphere and food that you would normally expect from a top asian based restaurant in London.

I had the most amazing night at Noka on Friday, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food as always was delicious and there is such a good selection of wines and cocktails. You have to try the lobster prawn toast! Would defo recommend to friends.

Visited NOKA for the first time recently and it was PHENOMENAL. The food is first class, cocktails were great and the staff are super friendly and helpful.Whole heartedly recommend to any foodies and particularly those who love high end Asian food. We will be back again very soon!

I went with a couple friends not expecting much as the restaurant is in some small little village, but blimey the food was impeccable credit to the chefs and the waiting staff pure joy really added to the atmosphere of the place.

Just had a fab lunch here on the terrace. Food was superb. Lots of tasty dishes. The service was great, nothing too much for them.

We tried this restaurant for the first time today for 10.30 breakfast. There was only 1 bar staff making drinks and 1 waiter serving the whole restaurant on a Saturday morning. We had to wait a few minutes in the porch area before being shown our table where we were given menus and asked do we want water for the table and then we wasn’t seen again. We waited about 15 minutes and then we walked out. Two ladies on the table next to us sat there with empty plates the whole duration we waited clearly getting very annoyed. A man at the table next to us went and got his own drinks from the bar as they wasn’t being served to him. A couple walked in, sat for a few minutes and then walked straight out as no one went to greet them or give them a menu. I want to make clear it’s not the waiters fault he was a polite young boy who was very apologetic when we left but 1 young member of staff for the whole restaurant is clearly no where near enough. We watched 3 tables walk out in the time we was waiting for even a drinks order that didn’t happen. A few hundred pounds of intake was lost in that small 20 minute period. A shame because the menu looked really good we wanted to try it but the managing side clearly needs sorting out.

What can I say. Outstanding food and fantastic service, especially from a young man named Craig who was attentive at all times. We had the curry of the month. Delicious. Will definitely be returning.

A lovely venue serving delicious and beautifully presented Pan Asian food locally in Essex. Tasty food, great ambience and lovely, polite, attentive hosts. We'll definitely be back!

My wife and I decided to visit Noka for our first post lockdown date night.Although there were plenty of people serving it was somewhat disorganized and haphazard, without a formal process in place. However, the food was excellent (especially the pork belly).The wine list was limited and there were no wines to match the Asian food (Riesling, Pinot gris etc) which was disappointing. We eventually selected a bottle of Nyetimber which unfortunately had not been chilled.We hope to return later in the year once Nola has overcome these issues.

Not a great restaurant, we were sat next to the toilet doors with the smell wafting over to us throughout our meal and we sat at a table for 4 rammed against the stairwell. Staff took ages to give us our bill and the food was not a high enough standard. Not to be recommended. Shame as I was looking forward to eating there.

We never write reviews but we were so impressed we even phoned to say how much we enjoyed and now adding comments on here. We had a takeaway Thai green curry, gyoza and tacos and were all great quality, well presented and very tasty. Will be back and already looking forward to it.

Gem of a restaurant, food and service was of the highest quality. A big thanks to Beth who looked after us all afternoon, bringing out chef samples for us to try as they extend their menu. Big plans coming for the restaurant still to come and we can’t wait to go back!

Do not book on a Sunday afternoon... after booking online at 1.15 on a Sunday i received a call at 12 o’clock but unfortunately missed to then call back and then tell me I had to either move my booking forward or them to cancel. I couldn’t actually make the booking and told the ‘Manager’ this to then be told because I am cancelling in going to be charged £20 and this is in the terms and conditions. However if a restaurant is calling to change a booking and I couldn’t do the time provided by them would I still be charged?... probably not. The manager was so rude customer service at it’s finest. Will not be going to noka again

Came with a friend for lunch. Amazing food and great atmosphere! Really nice out door area and pleasant staff. Chicken bites were my favourite, they should serve them in a bucket. My friend loves the poke bowl, they should serve them in a bucket too!

Lovely pan Asian tapas. Great service. Best restaurant in Essex and I certainly will be back. So glad to have this new restaurant in Ingatestone.

Think the continent Asia is too much to digest, well you haven't been to noka. They have handpicked dishes from all over to bring to our tiny English palates. They have done their research and put in the time to discover fresh takes on traditional dishes. The staff are hilarious and treated us well, the bald one gives you a free drink if you rub his head (apparently he learned that in asia it's good luck)

Such amazing food. Been craving it ever since and can’t wait to come back. Super friendly service. What a place !

Visited last week and will definitely be back! Pan Asian menu is amazing. Tried all the small plates and can confirm they’re delicious. Would recommend the tuna maki and beef teriyaki washed down with a few espresso martinis and some whispering angel! Service and ambience fantastic! Would recommend to any foodie in Essex.

Whilst on a dog walking wander with my wife and daughter the Nibbles arose and we went to the Lounge at lunchtime yesterday. The staff were excellent and allowed Ollie, our schnauzer to partake in lunch outside. The venue is clean, efficient and the choice of food excellent even with a gluten free option .... good value for money @ £10 per person with large portions .... quality would definitely return
