Had a Sunday roast at this venue, all fresh vegetables, home made Yorkshire pudding I found that the vegetables wasn't seasoned, personally I don't like to add salt to my dinner but today I had to to add salt to give it taste, even the roast potatoes were bland, probably maris pipers which are not the best for roast potatoes, good size dinner

I used to live in the area for over 20 years and my friend over 4. We decided to have lunch there for the 1st time and were so glad we did! We both had fish and chips, our plates were brimming. It was freshly cooked and the chips were big and fat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent friendly service in a lovely warm atmosphere and very good value for money! We'll definitely be going again whenever I'm in the area! Carol K

Stopped into the Community Club after taking a wrong turn off the A12 and ending up in the lovely village of Ingatestone. It was a Saturday afternoon when I arrived with the Mrs and I was delighted to see they were showing the football. The staff greeted me promptly with a smile when I arrived and escorted me to my table (covid). I was starving and decided to order fish and chips which came out quickly and was a huge portion!! The fish tasted deliciously fresh and the chips were thick cut old school chips with a healthy side of peas. Had a pint to wash down the delicious food and then had the Mrs drove me home. Was a great little find and will definately stop by next time I'm in the area.

Visited the club on many occasions and always leave a very happy punter. Attracts a friendly crowd of all ages in the community to meet, socialise, watch the sport or grab a pint and some quality home cooked food. Great selection of drinks, beer is always of a high standard. Food is lovely especially the fish and chips. The Christmas menu run over December is also highly recommended.

Visited for the first time on a very busy Saturday evening this interesting restaurant in a very attractive small town just of the high street. Its a modern bar/restaurant with an area outside for eating too with free parking. The staff are very friendly and the service was attentive the whole evening. The Asian menu offers main meals or tapas with the best of ingredients used.

What the hell happened to the Alma Arms? We’ve been to this pub for food on many occasions, today will be the last. My daughter had a prawn salad with jacket potato. The prawns smelt weird and had no flavour at all, she said they tasted strange too apart from no flavour, the jacket potato was luke warm, the salad was ok. We asked the waitress if the prawns were frozen or fresh, was told frozen. We then asked for it to be taken away and replaced with boiled eggs, the yolks were black in colour and very unappetising to look at. The meal was truly awful. The “butter” that came with the rolls wasn’t butter just a spread, also flavourless. I had lasagna which was ok but tiny in size, no more than a child’s portion. My fresh orange and lemonade drink was awful, we asked what was in it and told, lemonade with just a fizzy orange added, not fresh as I asked for, terrible anyway. We complained and was given the price off for the prawn salad but the whole experience was awful, it wasn’t the nice birthday meal I had wanted . We asked to see the manager but was told she was busy. That will be our last visit, sad as a once good value, good food pub, is in our opinion complete rubbish now.
