Set in the picturesque and popular village of Blackmore on the edge of the village green, this is a tea shop and antiques shop in one. Lovely interior with lots of interest (and lots to buy!) I had a cappuccino and slice of lemon cake. Both lovely. Service was excellent too. Not a place for lunch but a good choice of non-alcoholic drinks, cakes and snack bites. Has been featured on TV and radio more than once, the last was just a couple of months ago (with Danny Dyer buying a magnificent model ship). Cyclists, walkers and motorcyclists welcome. Limited parking for cars immediately outside but no parking restrictions on the village so have a wander to work off that cake!

I frequently visit this beautiful tearoom and antique store. It is such a beautiful place. Judi the owner is one of the nicest people I know. She is always so welcoming as are her staff. The hot chocolate and cakes are incredible. It is in such a stunning location and it is my haven. I cannot recommend enough!

This was my 5th visit here, all others times have been nice but on arrival today with my elderly mum who is very poorly (hence to say my mum really wanted to pop here today) my mum told the lady ‘i wanted to bring my daughter here to show her your shop, the shop keepers response was ‘so you aren’t buying anything today’ in a very rude voice!! Surely you are allowed to look around a shop before buying! She then told my mum she had to wear a mask very rudely even though it is not law and my poor mum felt falsed to buy an awful coffee with a packet milk just to try to chill the lady out! Would never visit again and just felt so sorry for my mother as she was so looking forward to her visit!! My mother is such a sweet person and didn’t deserve the rudeness she received, disgusted at this ladies behaviour!

Our go to morning coffee or afternoon tea stop. Always a warm welcome, good coffee and lovely cakes. A gem, tucked away and well worth seeking out. The antiques are also fascinating and sensibly priced. As the title says we just love it here.

this quaint little teashop is an absolute joy to visit, so unusual and full of old world atmosphere rarely found today. scrumptious cakes and beautiful garden to explore tucked away in the village of Blackmore. Almost like going back in time a must to visit. there is another teashop in Blackmore which is ok but completely lacks atmosphere. Megarry,s is top of my list and shall definitely be going back.

A very pleasant Antiques shop incorporating an excellent tea shop where one can browse around, or sit down for a well earned cup of coffee and scone [or other] without being hassled by the owner. There are many delightful antiques and you are sure to find something of your liking.

We stumbled across this place by sheer accident it’s tucked away but well worth the find. It was like a little treasure cave there was something for everyone. We ordered Coffee which was served to us in the garden by a nice young lady. It was so quite and peaceful just to sit there on a Sunday afternoon and enjoy the peace especially after previously spending a couple of hours in a busy pub. We will definitely go back there as it was just so different.

Fine surroundings that only the English can provide. I took my wife here as a surprise, I pre-booked sandwiches with our cream tea, it was delightful. It's like being invited into someone's parlour for tea. Judi, the lady who owns and runs the shop was knowledgeable and friendly, she even phoned us on route to ensure our attendance, as she was making the sandwiches fresh. The premises are rustic, and should remain so, to keep up the authenticity of the village, which was quaint and beautiful. If the decoration were to be modernised, it would spoil the atmosphere. Very clean toilets, which is always a good sign. Well done Judi, thanks, Steve.

Primarily this is the cottage antique centre of Blackmore but providing tea, coffee, and light refreshments (good homemade cakes and scones) in quirky surroundings to the rear of the premises. Frequented by antique buffs, local artists and regular locals who simply drop in for coffee and a chat, this is a good starting point for visitors wanting to explore the character of Blackmore village both ancient and modern. A friendly service, and don't forget to explore the garden and the quaint gypsy caravan.

exploring what Essex has to offer we recently enjoyed our trip to the village of coggeshall, this time we arrived in Blackmore, again a quaint old village pubs tearooms and tucked away in a corner by the duck pond is Megarrys (irish) it is a treasure trove of antiques, floor to ceiling, with a small tearoom where a homemade scone cream and jam can be had for just £2!!. There is an odd collection of chairs in the back, where weather permitting you can enjoy your tea before exploring the garden. It is all a bit wonderful like having "tea at grannys!" Julias prices on her antiques are very reasonable so be warned do not pick something up and ask for a best price....you might find it double! someone was overheard to say she goes there at xmas time to buy her friends and families gifts, and I am not surprised...nice scone and we couldn't resist a slice of homemade chocolate cake!!!

Having been to The Bull 8-9 times now, the food is always outstanding. Could order anything on the menu with confidence that I will love it, and this is without mentioning the service. Have been served by Amanda and Cosmin on multiple occasions now and their constant energy is so refreshing and always adds to the experience. This is the kind of place that you leave, counting down the days until your next visit. Cant wait to come back!

What a great venue, we were here for a birthday celebration and the place was perfect; it was a buffet style celebration with a proper party atmosphere, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly, engaging and welcoming and the night (7pm til midnight) went really smoothly with no-one waiting too long to be served. To top it off a silver charm, with huge sentimental value, was lost during the evening, 'The Kitchen' was contacted the next morning, they had found it and held on to it - so a massive thank you for that. Highly recommend the Brentwood Kitchen if you have special event to celebrate.

Visited for the first time on a very busy Saturday evening this interesting restaurant in a very attractive small town just of the high street. Its a modern bar/restaurant with an area outside for eating too with free parking. The staff are very friendly and the service was attentive the whole evening. The Asian menu offers main meals or tapas with the best of ingredients used.

Had a Sunday roast at this venue, all fresh vegetables, home made Yorkshire pudding I found that the vegetables wasn't seasoned, personally I don't like to add salt to my dinner but today I had to to add salt to give it taste, even the roast potatoes were bland, probably maris pipers which are not the best for roast potatoes, good size dinner
