The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

came in last week for the first time for a sausage and bacon baguette have to say first class and people friendly not sure what people mean its a greasy café ??? its not pretending to be the ritz its a café what do you expect from it, its part of what its all about if you want to have a rubber tasting product pop along to McDonalds this is all cooked in front of you

Spent a few hours here attending a wake, The staff was AMAZING! The food was AMAZING!

Great for a quick well cooked lunch. Staff very friendly and my brunch was really well presented I’d recommend this place without reservation!

Been here 4 times now. Had liver & bacon every time. As it's one of my favourite meals. Comes with cabbage , carrots & broccoli. Really nice plate of food. My friend rates the breakfasts. And all other food I seen before served looks great. Nice cafe and always a place to park if your a van driver as a loading bay directly outside. :)

Just called in for drinks on a Sunday afternoon, what a lovely pub. Well worth a visit.

As an old member I was taken aback to find that so much of the building has been turned over to a restaurant. With the main building closed for a private event (with no warning on their website), there was nowhere for members to go outside of the restaurant. Very disappointing.

Had a great breakfast, the staff were so welcoming, and the food was yummy.

Absolutely delicious, Iv been searching for GREAT fish and chips around Leigh on sea and southend and THIS IS IT! the main guy there was soo filled with character really welcoming and friendly, I really miss old school fish and chip shops as we don’t have many left in London. But happy to have found one where I go to escape.

Food carts in the back are brilliant but it's not a cosy pub and seems a bit "old boys"!
