Wow, what a lovely lunch we had today! All three courses were beautifully served, and tasted delicious (including the vegan option). The trainee waiters were very respectful and attentive, and confident enough to have a chat about their course. The instructor guided them subtly when necessary, to help them improve their skills. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Norwich! We have already booked a return visit.

As always Debut didn’t fail to deliver. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our seat and our server introduced herself. A good couple of options on starters & mains and all were selected by our party. The courses then arrived at the appropriate point all being very flavoursome and delightfully presented. The service was efficient by the young friendly staff who gave just the right amount of attention and seemed to be getting over their nervousness earlier in the term. Debut really does provide opportunities to students both front of house & in the kitchen to develop. Thanks to all for a most enjoyable lunch, see you soon for Christmas Dinner.

We had delicious deserts yesterday - a very tasty frangipane tart and poached pears and cinnamon ice cream ( The ice cream was not over spiced and it was lovely and smooth.) The staff were really kind and attentive.

It is always a pleasure to dine at Debut whether it be for Lunch or Dinner. The food on offer is always perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and very ‘tasty’, not to mention excellent VFM. The student servers always do their best and generally react well to a little bit of chat and thanks. The servers last night were particularly fresh to the role and somewhat nervous, but overall did what was needed. With the reduced cover numbers there isn’t quite the ‘buzz’ that there used to be when full. Thanks to all at Debut for a most enjoyable meal.

We had such a lovely evening celebrating 40 yrs since we all met at City college.food was absolutely delicious, all served by very attentive staff.Thankyou for making our evening enjoyable.

It’s a training college and the food was better than many restaurants. The wine is all provided by Adnams ... so all decent and well priced . The menu was tasty, well presented and ample without being over facing.The staff were friendly . The students are new to the hospitality and it was lovely to see their confidence growing as they opened wine and served dinnerWhat’s more it was £25 for 5 fab courses will definitely be going again .. well done everyone

Bueno, hace bastante tiempo que desde que era estudiante en Norwich City College (1975/76), comí en el Debut varias veces desde que decidí que era hora de regresar, llegué con mi búsqueda y me invitaron a nuestra mesa. ordenó, 1 Lomo de Cerdo, 1 Bacalao, cuando llegó el almuerzo eran 2 Cerdo, sin embargo, estaba bien, ¡tú, la señora de las mesas de al lado, parecía más agradable! Had a lovely fine dining tasting menu in a bustling restaurant with great atmosphere. The students did well although obviously they are still learning so don’t expect a fully polished service. I enjoyed the food very much.

We went to Debut restaurant yesterday for the Chrstmas lunch. The staff could not have been more attentive and the food was very good. The Christmas pudding with brandy sauce was superb. It was the best Chistmas pudding I have ever tasted.

Nuestra primera visita para una comida de Navidad en Debut y no me decepcionó. El restaurante estaba decorado adecuadamente con todo el personal amable y dispuesto a agradar. Hubo seis de nosotros que comimos los entrantes de pato y salmón, los platos principales de pavo y lubina y Lemon Posset y Christmas Pud como postre. Todo estaba preparado adecuadamente, presentado deliciosamente y sabía excelente. Todo el personal joven es realmente agradable y parece apreciar una amable palabra de aliento o agradecimiento, un verdadero crédito para CCN. 10 de los 11 de nosotros se presentaron a nuestra sesión de 1230. Los camareros eran bastante tímidos y algo más atentos que en nuestra mesa. Me sorprendió mucho, ya que creo que es el final del primer año y ya se podría generar cierta confianza, pero no estoy seguro de dónde estaban en el programa. Se ordenaron bebidas después de una solicitud, y 4 ordenaron las suyas y el camarero desapareció, cuando las trajo a la mesa, ¡se fue antes de recibir el resto de las órdenes! La comida, sin embargo, fue absolutamente de primera categoría! Si el servicio fuera tan bueno, habría intentado dar más de 5 estrellas. Tuve el pato especial para un entrante y fue fantástico! Realmente maravilloso sabor en algunas tostadas brioche tostado con un aderezo verde precioso. Los 3 cursos para 13. 50, y mejor comida que la que he probado en algunos restaurantes muy elegantes. Tuvimos un poco de confusión acerca de la cuenta, y el mozo lo llevó hasta el bar y no volvió a explicárnoslo, así que después de unos 25 minutos, todos subimos al bar y pagamos. Con un poco de mejora con el personal de servicio, es una elección perfecta, muy razonable para el lugar y lo intentaremos nuevamente en el otoño. ¡Gracias!

¿Qué más se puede pedir, a cinco minutos a pie desde su casa, excelentemente preparada, presentada y sabrosa comida, (buenas raciones), a un precio increíble, por qué no hemos estado durante tanto tiempo? Hay una selección adecuada de vino a buen precio que generalmente está disponible por copa o botella. Los jóvenes que sirven son educados, amables pero un poco nerviosos, por lo que una sonrisa amistosa y un comentario parece romper el hielo.No estaba demasiado ocupado y todo lo que había en el menú estaba disponible para nosotros en las 1230 horas sentadas, pero creo que atrapé la última terrina de salmón y langostinos. Nuestro objetivo es visitar mucho más a menudo, pruébalo tú mismo.

Almorcé aquí hoy con algunos amigos y, como siempre, disfrutamos de una comida hermosa, perfectamente preparada, presentada y servida. Personal ejemplar y, oh sí, excelente relación calidad-precio también!

Fuimos como una fiesta de 9 personas el viernes a la hora del almuerzo para el menú de 3 platos. La comida estaba bien presentada y sabía increíble. Todo cocinado y servido por estudiantes de catering de City College y todo esto por solo 13. 50, té o café incluido en el precio. Sin duda volvería y también accesible para sillas de ruedas.

First time visiting this teaching restaurant and was very impressed by the quality of food and very willing and efficient service. Some of the students were very nervous but gave a very good service and do their utmost to make the dining experience a very good one. Excellent food was served. Certainly will be coming back.

A mis amigos les encanta comer aquí cuando tienen una celebración familiar para celebrar. Hicieron la reserva para que me uniera a ellos durante mi estadía con ellos. El diseño del restaurante es lo primero que agrada a la vista tan pronto como entras. El restaurante es, obviamente, el campo de entrenamiento de los estudiantes, por lo que debe reservar una mesa en este restaurante en el entendimiento de que el equipo de servicio está bajo escrutinio toda la noche y tal vez algunos nervios se mostrarán. Sin embargo, todos mostraron excelentes señales de convertirse en profesionales consumados en su campo elegido. Tuvimos el menú degustación de la noche y fue impecable, desde el canap de salmón, entrante de espárragos, sorbete de Pina Colada, pato extremadamente sabroso hasta el postre lío de Eton, los jóvenes chefs y el personal de servicio deben estar orgullosos de sí mismos. El restaurante también tiene una variada carta de vinos. Si vives localmente, ve y apoya a estos jóvenes talentosos, no te decepcionará.

Tenía la comida más sabrosa. El estudiante Cameron era nuestro camarero, un muchacho tan encantador, muy atento. The Debut Restaurant is part of the City College catering school, thus only open for lunch and dinner on certain weekdays during term time. You are cooked for and served by students, years one, two or three or a mixture, supervised by staff. Our meal on this occasion was excellent - salmon on a dill salad, an apricot sorbet, slow-roasted belly of pork on a butter bean and kale coulis, and a salted caramel Paris brest. The wine list is limited but adequate with a range available by the glass (at very little more than the bottle rate). A good evening whilst supporting our next generation in the hospitality trade.

A group of eighteen of us pre-booked the christmas menu yesterday evening and had a top rate meal cooked for us by the student chefs and served by the student front of house team. A few of us asked to have a look behind the scenes and were gob smacked by the complete professionalism of the whole operation. The food & service was excellent. Many thanks for a great evening.

We enjoyed a beautifully presented lunch,good vegetarian option ,perhaps would have been better to have traditional roast turkey rather than that presented which was interesting but not as succulent ,the sauces stuffing etc were all delicious .Trio of desserts was challenging after the other two courses .

We visited for my birthday and it was, as is always the way with a December birthday, a Christmas meal. The food was exquisite. Six courses including an amazing gin and tonic amuse bouche. The turkey main course was incredible - I have never had fondant potato before and now I understand what all the fuss is about!

Llevé a mi nieto y su pareja por su cumpleaños 18. El Pan focaccia era realmente ligero y algunos de los mejores que he probado. Teníamos los espárragos y el arranque de huevos escalfados seguido por la pierna de pato con papas Rosti de patata, col y bacon era cocinado a la perfección. La carne sólo se cayó el hueso estaba delicioso.

He estado queriendo escribir mi reseña de la mía y de mi novia tarde en Debut por algún tiempo. Normalmente tengo que admitir que después de un par de semanas, probablemente no podrá decir nada sobre la comida que comer aparte de tal vez unos pequeños detalles. When you arrive it knocks you for six, a very smart restaurant and good to know that you can help these youngsters learn their trade and get a great meal too!

This was our third visit which shows that we really like the place since we tend to keep trying new venues rather than returning to the same place - but the variety of menus really encourages us to return

As forecast last year we did return and found that one of the "celebrity" chef evenings proved to be just as good as we were led to expect from our previous visit. We will return again without doubt

We've been to the Debut Restaurant many times over the years. It is situated within the city college and exists to give students real live guinea pigs to practice on. One needs to be open to accepting that they are still learning and under training. It's been a while since our last visit and then, coincidentally, we went twice within two weeks - one a black tie event where the organisation had taken over the whole restaurant and the other a table of friends. The menu was the same on both occasions and it was interesting to see how the same main course was differently interpreted. There is a nice ambiance and it is an initiative which is well worth while supporting.

Great evening- it was a Che's Takeover event. The students although nervous, were eager to learn and to please. Food was very well presented and tasty- good to hear from each student chef about the ingredients. would highly recommend

Lovely atmosphere, tables well laid with crackers. Great meal.. lovely smoked duck, turkey, cod and a glorious Trifle with proper creme anglaise. Not sure where the previous reviewer is coming from... we had a fabulous time!Purchased Christmas pud (as our friends did last yearend said it was the best pud they'd had).

My wife and I booked Christmas lunch for last week at the Debut Restaurant, but having not been there for 20+ years, we were slightly apprehensive as to what we would encounter. We are fully aware of the premise of a training facility, and remembering how it was run when a Mr. Edwards was the Manager, who ruled with a rod of iron, we hoped for as good. Sadly, it was not. All the trainee waiting staff were very polite, helpful and attentive, so no complaints in that direction. We were taken to our table promptly, as we arrived on time. Our disappointment was in the food. We both ordered the prawn cocktail starter. When it arrived, remembering we were one of the first to be seated, The prawns were tiny, the lettuce was going brown, and the sauce was non-existant. The accompanying bread rolls were very good. The main course was then presented, again we both had the turkey. This was the main bone of contention, as what was served up was not a turkey carved from the breast, but a catering pack turkey roll! The vegetables that came with it were ok. Finally, the choice of puddings. I had the Christmas pudding with custard, my wife had the so-called trifle, which again was a total disaster. My wife's cooking could run rings around whoever is in charge of the kitchen. It seems that as far as the turkey was concerned, when I asked the head waiter why the turkey roll and not the real thing, he explained it was all down to cost! Considering the clients who use the Debut on a regular basis, an extra couple of pounds per head so they could provide a genuine Christmas fare would not turn a hair on any head. bring back the old days!

Xmas lunch at the Debut Restaurant yesterday was excellent.We did not know what to expect and were a bit apprehensive but all this was blown away by the superb service and the quality of the food.We are now booking for the evening taster menu. Do not miss this little gem.,and do not be put off by the very reasonable prices

This is the training restaurant of City College Norwich and at lunchtime the young staff are learning the ropes. Having said that, they were really professional, well trained and efficient. The food was absolutely top notch, as good as you would get in a fine dining restaurant, but at a fraction of the cost. Huge credit to the students and staff, a great job.

Lovely visit,not for the first and certainly not the last!.The Debut is all part of the training for students of Norwich City College.The greeting,service,ambience,price and food would stand comparison with any top class restaurant.They are not over ambitious with the menu with three choices for each course.I chose soup stater,sea bream main and cheese and biscuits. Coffee included. All beautifully cooked and presented and if you can get better for £11 please tell TripAdvisor!!.

The Norfolk show is a two day 'country fair' event and my wife and I go every year. We have lunch one of the days in the Debut marquee. It is always first rate. This year's chicken main course was best London restaurant standard. If I am being picky the dessert was a 'trifle' unambitious (pained joke). However the students work so hard to provide effective service - some are clearly nervous - and succeed. Well done Norwich City College

First visit to Debut. On arrival our table had been allocated to another couple but the manager soon resolved the situation. Complimentary drinks & a newly laid table followed. The seven course taster menu was full of variety & tested the students skills. It was perfectly cooked, full of flavour & perfectly presented. Well done to all involved.Excellent value, would recommend.

Having visited this restaurant for lunch we were very pleased. The food tasted excellent and was well presented. The students were very attentive ensuring we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was lovely. The senior staff were very much in the background but watching carefully very subtly.It's a great fine dining restaurant and very reasonably priced. I would recommend this to anyone.Thank you for a really love time.

As it is a college restaurant I did not go in with too high expectations. The waiting staff were very friendly and capable. The food was tasty and reasonably priced considering the number of courses etc. The only problem I had was the white wine wasn't chilled. Apart from that I recommended it highly especially if you are looking for gourmet food at normal prices.

The trainees are really helpful. The food is good and excellent value for money and the restaurant itself is pleasant.

I have eaten at this restaurant before and find that the food and service is a bit hit and miss. But this time I was ill after the visit. I also found the service quite poor this time, there was one particular server who kept reacting across me (even when I was eating) to clear, un-necessary items from the table

We visited Debut restaurant on 10 March. It was a return visit. We had been delighted with a previous visit. We were a party of twelve for lunch. Five people ordered beef carpaccio, which we later realised is raw beef. We enjoyed the lunch. Later the five people who had chosen the beef carpaccio as their starter were all very ill later that day and through the night. Upon ringing debut restaurant our concerns were dismissed. We were given no apology not even an expression of regret after the appalling illness suffered by those unfortunate diners in our group.It's seems to make sense to me that it is too much of a coincidence that the five diners eating this beef starter were all very ill together. Presumable the five platters would have been prepared together. If a dirty knife was used or the person preparing was carrying a bug or the beef was contaminated we will never know.Needless to say we will not be returning.A very great shame as I now question standards being taught to the students being trained there.

We have had lunch here twice this year and the meals and presentation have beenfirst class. Meals of this standard would cost at least 3 times the price charged herein City restaurants. The students who are waiters and serving the drinks etc. arevery good if somewhat nervous.

I've been here a few times and it's always a great experience. Nice restaurant attached to the college which is staffed by students from the college. 7 courses of delicious food for only £21.75. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good wine.

Catered for a group of 45 covers with an excellent and tasty menu including dietary requirements. Run as part of the catering school. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. A credit to the College.

We had dinner last night which was excellent. The restaurant is welcoming and rather stylish and the students do a great job of cooking and serving. We had the taster menu, highlights included a superb Binham Blue mousse with pears and the most divine duck that I have ever eaten. Amazing value for money and a pretty good wine list. I would suggest offering a wine flight alongside the taster menu. A great evening out..do give it a go

Our last visit to Debut before Norwich City College finishes for the summer.We'd picked out a couple of tasting menus from this term's offerings. This was the best and excellent service from the more experience students.Dishes were very well presented and very tasty. Our first choice of wine was not available, but we found a great second choice on the wine list.Great food at a bargain price. Highly recommended.

This is the 4th time we have been to the Debut restaurant for evening meals since October 2014.It has excellent service by the friendly trainee staff. It is 9 courses of Master Chef type of food.All fine dining style and excellent and well served. Been surprised ( In good way) on the different courses that served an cooked well. It is a fine dining which less expensive than some restaurants in Norwich . It makes a very enjoyable evening.Would eat there every week!We will be going again when it re-opens during the week in the September 2015.

Went here for a meal on a Saturady night, not sure if the chef is different to the ones during the week but the meal was poor. I had good reports of the meals/service during the week but Saturday was very disappointing. The started had large chucks of lettuce, why? The main course of beef was too tough, overcooked and we were never asked how we would like it cooked. No horseradish without asking for it and the vegetables were piled on top of each other, which made them difficult to get without spilling everything. The sauce with the meal was good and the desert of an almond tart was very, very good. May be a while before we go back!

I was taken by a friend for the 8 course "taster" menu for dinner. Both food and service were unbelievably good - even if trainees, the food, service and ambience were thoroughly professional. Over the past couple of years, I have eaten the "taster" menus at two well known Michelin starred restaurants with no more enjoyment than here - but at approximately six times the price! Such a shame it's only open Tuesday - Thursday evenings in term time - but you really must try it!

Debut restaurant trains future restaurant staff at CIty College Norwich on Ipswich Road. It is open term-time for lunches and evening meals. Early booking is essential. There is a set menu (with dietary variations available). Lunch currently costs £10.00 for three courses and coffee (deduct £1.00 for two courses), and there is a bar and wine list. The evening meal is typically a 7-course taster menu at £21.50 - sometimes smallish servings, but they all add up!I have never had anything other than excellent food there. The young staff are under supervision, and some are very good, while others are clearly still learning - but never less than pleasant and enthusiastic. We go regularly.A large TV screen shows the work going on in the kitchen.There is musak, but it's either unobstrusive or worth a listen.You have to get there on time - 12;00 noon or shortly after for lunch, 19:00ish for dinner.Good for solo diners, couples and small groups. Not really the thing for younger children.The on-site car-park is paid parking by day, but free at night. There is also parking on the road outside and adjoining roads, up to 2 hours by day and free at night.

Lovely food cooked by the L2 chefs. Fantastic service from the L1 waiters/waitresses. However our arrival at the restaurant was most unwelcome. The restaurant manager went and greeted every table except ours and for the duration made quick glances towards our table, this made us feel very awkward and unwanted.

Very good value for money, would think it'd be a little more expensive. All food cooked by the Level 2 learners, although the lamb was a little tough it was still enjoyable. I wanted to change something on the dessert menu and the Level 1 learners catered to this very well. Overall a good meal, would recommend it.

Excellent food , excellent value , top quality professional service by all . Would recommend . Had choice of three starters , main and sweet , followed by tea or coffee and cookies . Super. Parking easy and free at weekend and in the evening. Thank you.

We have only just found this restaurant but it is now a firm favourite! The food is always excellent and the waiting staff are well trained. You do have to remember they are students!! Can't wait to come for the taster evening. Please try this restaurant with an open mind and enjoy!!!!

We, the group had a fixed 6 course meal. The restaurant is staffed by students and rhe service is excellent. The food was equally good and very palatable. The value is outstanding and I would recommend to anyone in easy reach of Norwich. There is ample parking in the college car park and is free at night, however read the rules!I have been on several occasions for charity meals and have never been disappointed. The menu was also fixed but again quite excellent.My advice is try it you will not be disappointed. They also do lunches. Get the data and use it. You will be surprised.

Three courses all very good I had duck breast for main and it was some of the best cooked and best quality duck I have ever had. To say this food is all cooked by young chefs in training it is top class

once again we were treated to a lovely meal from the debut restaurant, nothing was too much trouble. This is our third meal there and never cease to amaze what a culinary delight. The meal was all delivered lovely and hot too which is a mean feat these days for even some of the top restaurants to succeed in doing. Many thanks to all the students and their tutors for a lovely and pleasant meal. So if you want a meal and a good price with excellent service the Debut is the place to go.

Lovely food,efficient service delivered by caring students. We were well looked after by Rachel who managed to adjust the menu to suit the needs of one of the party.The current winter menu offers a great choice of foods. All cooked and presented to a high standard at reasonable price.Well done.

We had a xmas lunch here as we have done for the last few years. Excellent 5 star service by nervous students, The presentation and quality of the meal again very good, but as inprevious years the main dishes were not hot as they should have been. Some of the portions are on the small side but still very good food for the price.

We had a girls lunch today at Debut. The students who served us were exceptional. We were all very impressed with the high standards of the service and attention. The food was excellent and well presented. The value for money was amazing. Couldn't fault it at all. We will be back.

To celebrate a birthday we visited the debut restaurant as new to the type of experience we would be recieving. The service was incredibly pleasant all staff were remarkably well presented and diversity of students was great! Although slow to get to the table all service was as above pleasing.. The food ... The taster menu promised a remarkable selection of impeccable dishes typical produce of a high quality restaurant.. However the first dish a 'selection of Canapas was only a trout Rosti around the size of a large chocolate coin .. And was barely warm like the majority of hot dishes .. The duck was bland and pea purée very gritty.. A member of the party had a wheat intolerance and for a dessert was given what tasted like frozen apple .. Not what you expect.. On the positive side the scallops where amazing apart from the lack of them .. The blue cheese moose was magic and beetroot soup very tasty .. I respect and understand that it's a training restaurant and have the experience a much more unique experience allowing the Stars' of tomorrow to serve us .. The experience was good but some improvements ..

As a veggie I hate it when the only options you are offered in restaurants are things like: root vegetable parcels/bland risotto/goat cheese tart with 'seasonal vegetables'. Dull boring and unimaginative and usually as expensive as the meat option. Not so at Debut. I've been to 2 of their taster evenings and each time notified I them I was veggie in advance. Both times I was delighted with the imaginative, tasty and delicious veggie alternatives - not a goat cheese tart in sight! This place is amazing- so cheap for the best restaurant food I have experienced in Norwich. Beautifully presented, eagerly served, and faultlessly cooked. I don't think they allow any substandard stuff out of the kitchen (unlike many restaurants) and students are watched like hawks by the staff, leading to a really professional atmosphere. There are a lot of students waiting table, (to be expected in a college setting), but they were very sweet and attentive and the odd mistake/spillage has to be taken in the spirit of the setting as they are learning and no one is perfect.Well done all at Debut - though I am almost reluctant to give you a good review as I don't want everyone to know about you!!

This was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. We have been to lots of top quality restaurants in Norfolk and paid a fortune for the gorgeous food we ate but this was something else. We went for lunch service and the menu was 3 courses for £9.95. Presentation of the food was excellent along with the service, unbelievable to think all of the staff were students! Looking forward to trying out the evening menu soon.

I have dined at the Debut on several occasions; always as a member of a function and have never been disappointed.The friendliness and eagerness of the students to please make each occasion very special and the quality and presentation of the food puts the Debut in the fine dining category.Such a pleasure!

I've eaten at hotel school restaurants in the UK and East Africa and always loved the combination of good food and enthusiastic young staff. This time, it was a little different, because I was attending a dinner to celebrate the achievement of 26 College staff who'd completed the 'Three Peaks Challenge' to raise money for the student hardship fund. Most of the guests were connected with the college, which I suspect put the student staff under more pressure to perform than normal.It was a great evening and the food was as ever awesome. Service was brilliant and always with a smile. My only gripe would be that there is no guest wifi, essential for those who like to share the moment online.Debut gives you cutting edge contemporary food for the price of a meal in an chain restaurant. It's a winning combination for diners and of course a vital part of their training for the staff. Go! Soon!

We had a great lunch at this student run restaurant at Norwich City College. Surprised and impressed at how good the food was. Presentation and service were excellent as long as you appreciate these are trainees, at the tables and in the kitchen. Can't wait to try their evening menu.

Can't believe that this was our first visit as we have lived in Norwich all of our lives. The food was lovely apart from there was a mix up of how our steak was cooked, the people who ordered the two medium rare steaks received the rare steaks and vice versa and by the time we realised, it was too late to swap. We were also surprised by how posh it was and how very well we were looked after, if anything a little too much attention, whilst we were eating.

Delightful Surf and Turf evening. It was hard to credit that this was a training restaurant. Well done to all the young people they put some professional restaurants to shame.Will recommend to friends and hope to return soon.Have never tasted such tender sirloin steak ! It only needed a normal fork. Hope it is on menu next visit.

Ok - so it is part of the college but don't be put off. We had a brilliant night. The food surpassed many of the more expensive restaurants we have eaten in over the years. It was a taster menu and every course was interesting and delicious, The service was attentive and, apart from one or two giggles which added to the charm, was very professional. We paid £21.50 each and ordered a bottle of wine which was also reasonably priced. When we visit Norwich again we will definitely be back.

This was my first experience at this restaurant and i just have to say it was excellant, I was part of a large group enjoying a late Christmas meal. The staff were all very polite and professional and the service top class, all waiting staff were students at the college studying in the catering business..Our food was served by the very attentive staff who gave us the impression they enjoyed working there, something some other restaurants could learn from.Well done to the Debut, we will return.

We are big fans of Debut and have been back to enjoy many meals. You will struggle to find food of this quality at this bargain price. The dishes are more adventurous and would not be out of place in many London restaurants. The wine list is a decent one to choose from.Thus is a college and catering students are learning what a service is all about. We have seen the odd little wobble. But overall a very good standard.We recently took a larger family group to the new "chefs table". A great way to feel part of the kitchen and we got a verh personal service from dedicated waiting staff.Try it. You win't regret it...

I had never been here before but had always been intrigued...........I need wonder no longer, it's fabulous!Food was all gorgeous; beautifully presented with an artistic flair. Service was professional and attentive and the restaurant itself was very nice indeed. Great value too!Will definitely return with friends!

I had never been before and was so impressed with all aspects of the evening. Beautifully laid tables with linen napkins. Professional and attentive service and a fantastic taster menu costing £21 per head. The students are delightful and overall it was a terrific evening. Undoubtedly one of the best eaterie's in Norwich. Highly recommended

My second visit to Debut. I went at Christmas and was not impressed. Things seem to have improved. The food was very good except my wife couldn't eat her lamb because it was "pink" (it was actually a little bloody.) I thought it was fine. Perhaps customers should be told when they order that meat will be cooked pink to avoid this problem. The menu was on the poncy side, what's wrong with plain English rather than have to guess what things are? The service was very slow. There seemed little organisation about clearing plates and bringing food out. The young staff did well except they need to make more attempt at engaging with the customers. Just a little interest would make a big difference eg "Have you dined with us before?" A huge opportunity for gathering information about the customer's experience is lost because there is no way to feedback. A simple check list would be a start. Therefore this site is the only way to do it. i would visit again. Comfortable and quiet because of carpet and soft furnishings - other establishment please note!

Superb three course lunch this week at Debut. Very interesting menu, quite challenging for those involved. Atmosphere was very good, staff very welcoming, presentation of the food was excellent, interaction of flavours superb. Our needs were anticipated and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We particularly enjoyed the 'deconstructed' Eton Mess and the wonderful cheese platter with local cheeses. We look forward to an evening meal in the Autumn term, and would like to wish the students well in their future careers.

What a lovely evening we had fine dining with all six course's at the Debut Restaurant at the Norwich City College.We were a party of six and all agreed what a lovely experience we all had with excellent quality food,there was a small issue with the menu to start with,but after all,these are students training and doing a fine job,a credit to all City College.Can highly recommend,and will return.The only down side was,whether the heating went off in the restaurant but it was a bit chilly towards the end of the evening.
