The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

I visited Little Channels to try their valentines afternoon tea and was definitely not disappointed. A really affordable treat at only £25 per person (£5pp deposit required when booking). We were served an extensive selection of savouries which included a quiche, sausage roll, and sandwiches of coronation chicken, ham & cheese, and tuna & cucumber. The chicken one was served in focaccia bread which made a nice difference to traditional finger sandwiches that you usually get with afternoon tea. The scones were huge and warm so a good sign of being freshly baked! The sweet treats included a mini Victoria sponge cake, a heart shaped chocolate brownie and a chocolate covered strawberry. I feel like that was the perfect amount without getting too full. I feel like this was spot on for the money and both quality and quantity of food. The service was also the perfect mix of attentiveness and friendliness. Would recommend.

Absolutely delighted to see dukes back up and running with fab decor ,great menu and lovely staff ,totally worth a visit. Was extremely busy so glad we had booked.

We booked for dinner and were not disappointed. We ordered drinks at the bar and were shown through to our table in the dining area, where they were promptly delivered by the friendly waitress. Our food order was taken and after a short time, was delivered; piping hot, fresh, tasty and generous portions. The menu has some 'classics' such as fish and chips (huge fish!) and specials. The waitress recommended lemon cheesecake and it was the best my partner had ever eaten. Highly recommended.

We wish to have a good meal before leaving Blakeney, and I'm greatful to find this place. There are not much comments about the restaurant on Google map, but that doesn't mean that the restaurant is poor. The restaurant was granted the 2 AA Rosette award and the chef did amazing job from starter to main course. The King Prawn with Focaccia is one of the best starter that I tried for the last few years, the delicious Creme Fraiche become a wonderful linkage of the prawn and the bread. I really wish we order one more. For the main course, the steak & resotto are wonderful and we both agree the hash brown is the highlight and bring the main course to another level. North Norfolk is a peaceful place and people are keen to stay a weekend for relaxing. If you're interested to a proper dining, I'm sure you will love the whole dining experience

I went today at 8/01/2024,I went as a friend had told me about how helpful the owners are with people who are struggling with the basics like food and it took a lot of courage to ask for help.However when I arrived and I arrived in the specified time I was not even able to explain why I was there when I was just told were closed and the person then completely ignored me,I know I'm not entitled to hand outs this is a service which they do not have to provide however because I came to use the service does not mean I am not entitled to be treated how they would like to be treated and from what my friend told me they were the most caring empathetic people who work there but this was not what I found I understand people can have a bad day but it made me feel embarrassed and ashamed that I had come.

Fabulous from start to finish. The young but very engaging and knowledgeable girls front of house and waitressing could not have been more attentive and helpful without ever being over bearing. The ambience from outside had the attraction of a fabulous Parisan side street draw and the decor and ambience inside doesn’t disappoint. A sharp eye for eclectic edge with a sumptuous undercurrent of elegant pub chic and warmth integrate sumptuously. Food was fantastic by special prawn ravioli being warm, sleek and unctuous. The pork shoulder main was generous, full of fallout and perfectly configured with the leeks and champ. The aroma from the masala sauce matched the taste. Lemon posset with a twist brought the experience to a triumphant close. A gem that holds its own and more with the higher profile Cricketers and Catch 22 , a find from a brief memorable encounter at the Saffron Walden Saturday morning market. Seven friends on holiday together went to The Rumburgh Buck for a last evening dinner having had drinks in the garden a few days earlier. This pub is wonderful - friendly and very welcoming. It is unspoilt how I imagine it has been for many years; flag stone floors, benches and the occasional slightly wobbly table. We preordered our meals for steak night, excellent value and absolutely delicious steak, mine was a perfect medium rare. Highly recommend a visit to this little gem in the Suffolk countryside

we were lucky enough to visit here twice in the Easter holidays and on both occasions the food was freshly cooked and delicious. lovely light batter and great chips. portion sizes were good. We can’t wait to go back. parking spaces outside and also an indoor and outdoor seating area.

The two main people serving in the café area are an incredibly friendly and welcoming couple. Very nice environment, clean and pleasant. It was great that my wife and I could walk straight in with our two dogs and be greeted with a smile. The price wasn’t too ridiculous considering it’s a seaside town as well. The food was nice and we will definitely be going back again.

I went today with my sister and I must say what we had was delicious the food was fresh and presented very well. We were made very welcome. Spotlessly clean! We will definitely be going back to try other food and drink 💯

Was welcomed by a lovely polite and attentive member of staff. Tables nice and clean. Ordered an egg sandwich which came in lovely fresh granary bread and a fresh side salad. Will definitely go back.

Lovely place to grab a tapas style lunch - service was great and unhurried even though they were busy, food and drink were good, catered well for coeliacs (gluten free crackers although a premium was charged).

It’s had to describe this hotel, there really is only one word! Exceptional! From the staff, to the rooms everything about this place is amazing.

Visited The Plough again on Friday 24th January and the experience was superb yet again. We've now eaten at The Plough 4 or 5 times and every time the welcome is very friendly, the food is excellent and the service is great.
