Snettisham Beach Fish & Chip in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Wanted to try this chip shop while on holiday in the area after reading the reviews. We were not disappointed. Lovely food cooked perfectly. Reasonable prices .had cheeseburgr and chips very big and price was cheaper than expected tastes lovely staff were all very efficient and smartly dressed the shop itself was very clean sitting outside area was lovely . Lovely location near the beach . Thank you.

Amazing fish and chips best we have had in years .. this is how it's done . Shame we don't live nearer. Will definitely be back.

This fish and chip shop consistently produces top quality fish with crunchy batter. The service area is spotless and the servers are very friendly. It's worth the diversion and makes the trip back to Stamford shorter. We look forward to our next visit.

Great fish and chips! Very pleasant vibe (you can eat in at the very clean seating areas inside and out). Reasonably priced and good sized portions - the fish was super tasty and one of our party sampled the chicken nuggets which were huge!

This is one of our favourite fish and chip shops, I’ve never had a disappointing meal here. You can sit in and eat, or take your meal to the beach to watch the fabulous sunsets on this coast (take your rubbish away with you if you go to beach) 👍😁

Our scouts were camping nearby and after a trip to the air museum we decided the local chippy was a winner phoned the order and collected very good service and excellent choice and price Definitely worth a visit

This use to be an excellent chip shop but our last 2 meals from there ( one was last month) have been extremely disappointing. This fish was all batter , the fish being extremely thin and overcooked. We thought that the first meal was hopefully a one off , but it was even worse this time .

After a day along the North Norfolk coast it's always worth visiting this place. There is invariably a queue which is quickly dealt with by the friendly staff. Without doubt the best fish batter and consistently over many years excellent value.

Travelled to Norfolk for a day out and on recommendation had lunch at the fish and chips shop. Wasn’t a good start as both of us wanted Haddock, very surprisingly for a shore based fish shop they were out of Haddock and we were the first customers of the day. We ordered 2 Cod with small chips , total cost £15.60, the chips were cooked well and the fish batter was light and crispy, but the fish was thin and crumbly, not at all like the flaky Cod I’m accustomed to, more like a bland frozen Place than Cod, extremely disappointing. Maybe September fish stock is different to the summer months. Unfortunately we couldn’t give more than 3 stars for the overall experience, however, the staff were kind and helpful. (The fish would have only been rated 1 star)

Called here based on recommendation. Fish cooked freshly and new potato chips! I had a plaice which can be very hit and miss being a flat fish, but the owner brought one out to show me before he cooked it!Delicious! We’ll be back.

Simply wow ! We had fish and chips and mushy peas . All of it was so delicious . Excellent value for money and very generous helpings . We had haddock and plaice and both fish were so fresh and tasty . Would definitely recommend a visit if your in the Snettisham beach area .

We visited on ‘opening night’ after the new screens and socially distance marks had been installed, the owners have done a brilliant job! These have been difficult times but I felt totally safe and the food was excellent! Everything is freshly cooked, the fish is beautiful - so good that my daughter wanted my meal (as-well as her own!). Friendly staff, great service. We’re going again tonight & I would highly recommended.

Visited just as CV19 was proper kicking off. Excellent attempts at bio security and limited isolation. They also weren’t shy to try to enforce it. This, is a damn good thing. If anyone argues with anyone in this crisis they deserve all they get, they DONT deserve to risk other people. Hats off to this chippy for trying their best.Meanwhile, bloody good fish, genuinely great!! Chips fairly standard, which is good, and good peas. As a result of this service, common sense, and BIG bits of cod, we’ll revisit when we we are in the area when this has passed. Thank you all for your good food, good service, and good common sense.

Only problem here is that service is incredibly slow even when not busy,staff are a bit rude and off hand,but we are local and put up with it because Matthew is a nice guy and food is worth the wait !

Having spent a weekend together in Norfolk we decided to end by having fish and chips on the beach. We settled on Snettisham and we were not disappointed. Everything was cooked to order (but without to much of a wait) and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They gave us advice about the beach, and parking, an£ offered us the opportunity to leave our cars in their car park as we were only staying a short time on the beach. The batter was thin and crispy and really tasty. There were 6 of us eating and no complaints from any one.

Superb. Everything is cooked to order while you wait, even the chips are cooked in smaller batches to ensure they are fresh. Talking of chips, they were proper "chippy-chips" with a really nice flavour. The star of the show was definitely the haddock, which was approximately the size of a whale. The batter was almost like a tempura batter, not too thick and oh so crispy. Breaking through it with a satisfying crunch was the beautifully cooked haddock, so flavoursome and moist. We had a takeaway, but there is seating inside and outside, with plenty of parking. Everything was spotless, and even though we were only there for a short time the owners were very friendly. We will definitely be back!

I always enjoy fish & chips by the sea and last week was no exception. We visited here last year and we were really impressed, maybe my memory fails but I do think they were better last year, however, they are still the best offering on this stretch of coast and well worth seeking out.

Stopped inhere for fish and chips after walking on the beach. It was so great that I then asked for a bettered sausage and chips. That didn't disappoint either. Best fish and chips I have had since coming back to the UK!!

At the end of our holiday we just had to tick off one more activity which was fish and chips on the beach. We read the reviews on trip advisor and were impressed so decided to go here. I was a bit dubious as it was a chippy surrounded by static caravan sites but I was not disappointed. Lovely friendly staff and freshly cooked food. I had the plaice and the batter was light and crispy and the chips were also crispy. We ate them in the Carpark by the beach then went down to play a bit of catch before going home.

These were the best fish and chips I have ever tasted, and only 10 minutes from the site I was staying on, would recommend to everyone in the area

Me and my partner stoped here for quick lunch and decided to have a chip butty, which were lovely!! We also got welcomed and served by a really nice lady. We will definitely return again.

After visiting local places of interest visited Snettisham Beach and dropped in for Fish and Chips. Warm and friendly greeting with fantastic freshly cooked fish and chips. The cod and haddock were so white and fresh and batter not greasy. Delicious mushy peas. Would certainly recommend.

Got told about this place by a family member who lives in snettisham. She said ‘it’s the best fish and chips on the coast’ so we made our way off the beaten track from snettisham only to discover it doesn’t open at lunch time.......oh well, we decided chippy tea it was, and I have to say we have NOT been disappointed!!!!!! Bloody gorgeous it was and so reasonable. Massive portions! Fish just to die for.

We had a stroll along the beach and then called in for fish and chips. The portions were generous and the fish, which had a very light tempura-ish batter, tasted very fresh. There is now an inside eating area as well as the seats outside. It might be helpful if they could provide knives and forks, even if only plastic ones, rather than just the wooden chip forks. But all in all very good and very good value.

Fantastic fish and chips from here. We were a large group, visiting family and we always come here. Staff are very helpful and will always cater for you. See you next time

Arrived at 4.50pm and already a queue as usual. Fish and chips freshly cooked and excellent as always. As it's winter and most of the caravan parks nearby are closed they are only open on a Friday between 5pm and 8pm, but regulars like us look forward to our Friday Fish night and are very grateful they open during winter for their regulars.

We'd come up to our seaside bungalow on a cold November day to do a few jobs in preparation for a log burning stove to be fitted the next day. With no electricity and only a Superser fire to warm the whole building, the evening was going to be tough. We fancied good old fish and chips, but could hardly be bothered to drive to the village, but then wondered ... could there be a possibility of the one being open just a stone's throw away??? A quick Google showed that our luck was in - Oh my days - they were the best fish and chips I've had for ages. A good size portion - the chips were cooked just right - not all dry and overcooked, and the batter on the fish was light and crispy. Wonderful grub! Wish I'd bought the tartare sauce too, because when I checked the date on the one in my cupboard, it expired two flipping years ago, ooooops!! Nothing could spoil the meal though. We'll be back, and are happy to recommend this place to anyone! Thanks guys!

This little chippy just off the A149 (turning for Snettisham Beach) is our local and we won't go anywhere else. Had a relative to stay at the weekend so went here Saturday evening (15.09) for cod and chips 3 times, mushy peas and curry sauce. As usual a queue at the door, but it's so well worth a little bit of a wait. The best of the best you won't be disappointed as our uncle wasn't after eating 'the most loveliest fish and chips' he'd ever had (and he's 67!!). If you're in Norfolk then you must visit this little food Haven.

Went with the kids. We wanted to eat outside, asked for salt and vinegar....there was too much salt for the kids...my mistake...the kids food was inedible. However, the batter on the fish was outstanding. For this reason alone I have to mark the shop high. If you want light as a feather, crispy batter on your fish this place is worth a visit. (My OH loves his fish and chips so I have plenty to compare it to. Me....I could take it or leave it...but for this batter I would definitely take it.)

Coming from Hampshire we are used to much more expensive fish and chips so couldn't believe how reasonable this was or how big the portion was. It's also right on the beach. We had fizz, fish and chips for supper sitting by the sea....a lovely thing to do on holiday.

As this chip shop is on our doorstep we regularly call in on the way back from taking the dogs on Snettisham beach and we've never been disappointed with the food here. Always been cooked fresh to order when we've gone there and never had greasy or sloppy fish like you can get from other chip shops. Seating available inside and outside, we've chatted while having our supper with many people that have come from miles around to eat here. Highly recommend.

We travelled over last Thursday evening, the wife driving like she had never had fish n chips before. We live about a hour and half away but having been using this chippy for a while now. We arrived about twenty to eight and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our fish was cooked to order, the chips are now new season potatoes and were delicious. They were the best fish and chips we have ever had....unbelievably good. We totally recommend them.

we always have our weekly cod and chips from here. delicious is an understatement! the ladies are always very friendly. portions are also very generous. it's definitely the locals choice, as it's clear with how long the queue is!

We are local and have used this fish and chips shop for years. (as do many other locals) Excellent food everytime regardless of who's trying. Everywhere is always spotless, including the free to use seating area. Staff are always friendly.

Both my wife and I have now been using this fish and chip shop for about 2 years now and they are the best in the area in my opinion. The food is always fresh and hot and cooked to perfection. The price is good value and the staff very friendly all this and the added benefit of a seating area to eat the food. The food fryers and seating areas are spotlessly clean and it is a joy to eat good fish and chips here. We have never had a bad meal here and use the place almost weekly.

this place is a joke if the lady is cooking all is fine when the other tom/dick/and harrys are its rubbish they cater for the local caravan sites catchment area and think all holiday makers are fools chips are rubbish fish is hit and miss and very pricey seating area is a joke they need a proper trained person to cook the food how it should be done..also NEEDS A GOOD CLEAN UP all around the place as its like a tip .you are far better driving to a proper sit down fish and chip shop and sit and eat in warm clean place and it will be cheaper dont put up with rubbish

Despite having chip shops closer to home we travel down the beach road to here when we have fish and chips as they are always fresh and dont give you tummy ache like some others do. Yum yum!

Having visited this fish and chip shop regularly over several years I was shocked by how the standards had slipped and the prices had escalated. Whilst queuing to be served,which took a good half hour due to staffing management, we were offended by the disgusting manners of one of the employees who was cooking the food! In front of all the customers, he let out a huge burp..... which was clearly forced, incredibly loud and long; it was clearly for the amusement of the other staff (some who found it hilarious). I understand we all have the need to burp on occasion but this could have been done discretely or even out the back of the shop. It was school playground behaviour and frankly offensive. It was during this time that I began to look around and saw in the corner a pile of old chips that had been swept to one side, in a pile of dirt, dust and fluff.... just left there!! The whole experience put me off my food!

Delicious and piping hot. Took a short drive to the beach and ate there. Don't forget the wooden forks because this food is hot!

They say you can tell a good fish and chip shop by the length of the queue. In peak times there is normally a wait of approx. 20 minutes but the fish and chips are worth the wait.

After reading the review on trip advisor thought we'd give it a go, so glad we did the best fish and chips we've tasted in a long time and the portions are huge, fantastic find and well worth it. Highly recommended from a hard to please family.

Having visited the RSPB site at Snettisham I turned left onto the main road to head to the beach and to my surprise a very welcome fish and chip restaurant. A slight wait as everything cooked fresh I had the cod and chips. Cod delicious with light crispy batter and the taste along with the chips was like it used to be years ago. I sat outside on the seats provided to really enjoy the food.

Had lovely fish and chips here while at a caravan site.Great you could sit outside and enjoy the weather. Recommend

After a lovely dog walk at Snettisham beach, my husband and I decided to stop and have some lunch at Snettisham Beach Fish & Chip Shop. I can honestly say that these are the best Fish & Chips in West Norfolk. Both of us said that these were the best we've eaten in 10 years. The Fish was fresh, batter light and crispy, chips how I remember they used to taste! Perfect. The staff were really friendly. All in all a brilliant experience will definitely be going back soon.

The chips are the best on the Norfolk coast. After taking the dog for a nice walk along the beach followed by fish and chips at this wonderful chip shop.there is plenty of seating inside and out and a good size car park. The staff are polite and friendly. It is worth the drive down the coast road just for the chips.

We were told the food here was really good and wow yes it was. Lots of it and cooked to order, could eat in or out, we chose out as such a beautiful evening. People coming and going which speaks for itself, locals and visitors in and out all the time. Lovely clean place and staff so friendly and helpful, great to be so close to the beach so you could eat on the beach, we went for a walk to burn off all that lovely food, which is not just fish and chips, pies, sausages etc too, and would you believe they remove the skin from the fish so absolutely no waste.

Firstly the food was good. The thing that let it down was the super slow service and attitude of the server. No sign to warn you that it's a £10 minimum spend to use your card so be warned. Expect to wait a looooooooonnnnnnng time even if you want just a can of pop. I'd by my food and drink in snettisham and drive up to the beach if I was you. Unless you like meeting basil fawlty?

Visited, on recommendation, for lunch. Area nice,seating available and ordering efficient and money taken quickly. However, the wait for food was unacceptable, we had to ask several times about our order, many others who arrived after us we given food before us and almost had to beg for children's food to be given. But I will say that the food was delicious no complaints about it.

This is a proper fish n chip shop. They are the best in the area. My wife worked in a chip shop in the 70's and she as I think this is the real deal. The staff are friendly, polite , providing a great service. These fish and chips are soooo good in fact we had they twice....Friday and Saturday. The price of the food is also very good and place is spotless clean.Well done to all concerned and thank you. We will return.

Fish and chips very good, however...service very poor, bordering on scary aggressive by the blonde 30 something lady. Very rude..but I suppose you can be when you have no competition around. Also the charge of 500 for a plastic fork is ridiculous. Wouldn't go back regardless of how good the food is. Very sorry.
