Called in to have a coffee and hot panini did have a dog no mention of not allowed in the shop until coffee brought over and told to leave!!! staff had seen me with daughter and dog at ordering and again when coffee brought to table then ?manager came over was rude and said we had to go daughter stood out in the rain with dog and manager person took the coffee away to put in takeaway cups Staff disorganised and queuing out of the door as so slow Too many staff and not working together leading to slow service poor granny in a mobility scooter left out in the rain as couldn’t get in to be served Worst coffee I have ever been served totally undrinkable Signage needs to be displayed to make owners aware that dogs are not welcomed and staff need some training about how to be respectful and courteous to customers as the manager was downright rude to us which is totally unacceptable Not a nice experience at all

Yesterday we enjoyed a lovely family Sunday lunch. We were all given a friendly welcome when we arrived which continued throughout the afternoon. The food was good and was matched by the service. It’s quite easy to see why there were a lot of regulars dining there. Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day soon.

Had a very enjoyable Christmas Day Lunch at the Green Man. Thank you to the whole team for giving us a warm welcome, excellent meal, excellent service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. We hope you all get the chance to take a break at some point yourselves.

Huge outside area at the back with a small bar. Inside it's as cosy as ever with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Would recommend

I love this café. My wife and I go there about every fortnight. We are recognised by the staff, and we have always felt like well-respected, cherished customers. Unfortunately, the last couple of visits have been less satisfactory. A few weeks ago, the menu board was removed, and the counter area was re-organised. But what about the food? Well, for the first time I felt rather disappointed. My sandwich and salad came on a plate that was barely big enough, even though the salad was smaller than previously. But the sandwich was as good as usual. Worse, though, was the "tea for two". It was definitely an inferior brand to what I had come to expect. It had almost no flavour. There were some powdery tea-leaf particles floating on the surface, and an awful lot more that had sunk to the bottom of the cup. I abandoned the tea half-way through the second cup. Previously, the tea was excellent, and an important reason for calling in. It was a loose tea (that is, not in bags) with quite large tea leaves. I suspect the café has a new manager with a cost-cutting agenda. Having said all that, I must say I admire the staff who work there. They remain friendly and greeted my wife and me in the usual way. I don't blame the staff for the decline, but I felt I could not leave my usual tip on this occasion - sorry. I hope that the café returns to its former standard, even if it means I have to pay a little more. We'll visit again after Christmas, but if it's no better, that will be the last time.
