My wife and I went here for dinner last night and we were blown away by both the service and the quality fo food and drink. I had the curry special, which tonight was tikka masala and my wife had sea bass. I am not a big curry eater but I like a good one and the waitress recommended it so I thought, for once, I'd take a punt. I was not disappointed., Unbelievably good. Perfect flavour and heat. Lovely non-greasy, crunchy onion bhaji and pilau rice. Honestly, I don't know how you could make a better one. The wife's sea bass was also lovely though she tasted my curry and was jealous. Drinks were great too, I had a lovely german pilsner lager. We had a bottle of pinot grigio with dinner which was also good and decent value. Lovely atmosphere in this place. You won't find better. I was so impressed I asked to speak to the chef to tell him what awonderful meak he had cooked. We'll be back !

Lovely genuine old school pub, Some excellent drinks available when we were there, really good friendly vibe. We have consistently had top class food every time we have dined at the C&H, and if you're looking for a bar snack decently give the sausage rolls a go. Plenty of seating including an outside beer garden, Loo's are spotless and modern. Already looking forward to our next visit to this pub.

Just tried to book for Sunday lunch for 5 adults and a 9 month old baby. Was told that they generally have a policy of no children. Really disappointed, bearing in mind that most people book Sunday lunch as a family. Perhaps they should state on their website that this is an adults only pub. Have had a very nice reply from the Coach and Horses, explaining their reasons why they are not able to take children. We will definitely book as a child free couple on that basis. Thank you Coach and Horses

We didn’t want anything fancy, and we didn’t want another gastro pub Sunday lunch prepped in advance and heated up. So The Coach & Horses hit the spot 100%. Ignoring starters we went straight in for a roast beef and a lamb shank lunch. Absolutely delicious meat with perfect roasties, lovely Yorkshire, well-cooked veg not insipid or over-boiled & thick flavoursome gravy. Limited menu on Sunday…but hey that’s what Sunday lunch is all about!! A proper local pub, not posh but with a great welcome (even though we headed home to watch Spurs!!) Recommended

On a recent visit to The Coach and Horses, it just looked like a nice, unassuming traditional pub, but there’s SO MUCH more to this fantastic place. A bar that is so well stocked it seemed to have every type of drink known to mankind and the staffs knowledge of EVERYTHING behind their bar and their food was amazing. Excellent, friendly service with a smile. Our dogs were made very welcome inside. Now to the food......and boy was it spectacular!!!... My husband had smoked haddock in a lip smacking creamy, mustardy sauce, sat on top of a big dollop of Mash and peas on the side. My husband said it was one of the most delicious and perfectly cooked fish dishes he’s enjoyed in years. I opted for the liver and bacon, which came with the same sized big dollop of creamy Mash, lashings of the most incredible real meat juices gravy and a beautiful selection of greens, beans and whole baby carrots. I literally could have lifted the plate and licked it at the end, had I not been eating out in public !!! WOW, what fantastic value for money, incredible produce and quality of food. The Coach and Horses really have knocked it out of the park with the BEST pub grub ever!!!

Excellent Sunday roast in a proper family pub - eight of us enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast, the food was plentiful, well cooked and served in a pleasant, friendly and efficient manner. Despite eating fairly late in the day, only the turkey had sold out but we had no complaints over that. Everything else was available and freshly cooked. Prices are more than reasonable and while this might not be the most modern of venues, it doesn’t matter because that’s the appeal. This pub should be supported wholeheartedly, just make sure you leave room for our table for the Sunday roast.

Popped in here for a quick weekday snack lunch. I had the fish and chips served with peas and homemade tartar sauce. It was piping hot and good value for £10.95. My wife opted for soup of the day (£4.95). Although bread was not mentioned it was served with nice fresh granary bread, however it was also thinckly buttered and sadly my wife doesn't like butter. The pub was fairly empty - mainly with a handful of locals chatting and drinking at the bar. Very good and friendly service. It was almost like a trip down memory lane - as I used to regularly drink and play darts here in the late 1970s / early 1980s (when I mistakenly remember it being a lot larger), All in all a good experience, and we may be tempted to return for a speciality evening or Sunday lunch.
