The Sunday Carvery in Great Yarmouth

great food and service staff help full quite busy did not had to wait to long good prices good selection on menu

We usually experience a lovely carvery.., but not this visit... can’t find fault with the veg or the tasty gravy., but the Beef was terrible.. chewy, fatty and veiny.. no I didn’t eat it and yes I did point it out the waiter... We will find another venue next time we eat out... very dissapointed!

We've not been here before and I thought it was in the main Potters Resort, it's not, it's round the back next to the Black Rock restaurant. I made the mistake of parking right outside the main building on the very 1st parking spot, as far away as you can get, but I know now. Zest has it's own car park, so plenty of room. 1st impression was very good, spacious, smart with plenty of room between the tables. Polite staff, if a tad slow, but ordered drinks and wine, again bit slow with the drinks. Food was varied and well cooked, in fact the roast beef was the best I've ever had in a carvery! My wife had the turkey and said it was excellent. Good selection of meats, beef,turkey and a very tasty ham (had some as well as my beef), not the biggest selection of veg, but certainly enough. 3 types of potato, broccoli, carrots, swede & carrot mash, cauliflower cheese (not nice, very hard), I'm sure there was a couple more, but I can't remember them. All very nice except the cauliflower cheese, we got in for lunch at 3pm and I wonder if it had been sitting there for some time, but that aside all was good. Had cheese & biscuits plus coffee to finish, very good as well, my wife had cheesecake & ice cream, she polished off every last bit, so must have been good. Now for the bad bits, only 2 small complaints really, they gave me a dirty glass, I hate dirty glasses, on top of that,the 1st 2 plates I picked up at the carvery were also grubby, this really is one of my "bugbears", I hate it when I get served or given dirty glasses/crockery/untensils. Please "Zest" check before serving! That aside all four of us enjoyed our meal, which was reasonably priced, as were the drinks.

We went for our Xmas party night out at Zest potters in Hopton last night Sat 14th Dec 19, The surroundings were very comfortable, and the live band were really good, but I’m afraid that was it ! The food was really bad and we eat out a lot ! Very small portions and not very nice at all. The starters was a lettuce leave with a few prawns, The main meal, Turkey was another small portion, the Turkey, 2 slices was ok but the veg was Awful. It seemed like it was frozen ! When you bit into it is was very watery, Not good ! The salted caramel and ice cream slice was ok, probably the best part of the meal. We were very disappointed especially after all Potter’s is supposed the be a 5* resort? The cost for this evening for us was £42 Per head. I can think of so many better places in the area to go ! We will definitely not be returning! Also the staff were very bland and didn’t really speak, it was like they were robots just serving everyone. I don’t normally write many reviews, but on this occasion I felt that I needed to.

We attended the Zest carvery for a family birthday celebration. There was a large group of us. The staff were lovely and attentive, and good with the children of the group. The food was good quality, except a couple of the roast potatoes were on the hard side. Also the it said the profiteroles came with a hot chocolate sauce, but it was stone cold when mine arrived. The only other issue was the car park. It was packed, my husband drove around 3 times, before parking over the road. It's not a local venue for us, but would consider coming again if we were in the area.

Never been to Zest before but was not disappointed. Great service. Maxing food that was hot which is a bonus when it comes to carvarys as often at other places it can be Luke warm. Very good prices. Will defo be going again

Been going about once a month to the best carvery around my area Staff friendly and welcoming Food delicious 😋 Came with my sister in law and her new hubby to be they both enjoyed it to and said they return

Have visited Zest many times whilst staying at Hopton Holiday Village, always had good food until last Sunday when plates were only warm and by the time we got back to the table is was almost cold. The food we had was alright but would have tasted better hot. We asked the waiter if anything could be done to warm it through and he said no. We were not offered to go and replace our dinner on hot plates and when paying the only thing the Manager could say was I will inform the kitchen and maybe they could turn up hot cupboard. Didn't really help us though. We will return.

My husband and I frequently visit Zest for a Sunday Carvery. The excellent food, ambience, service and value makes Zest Cavery the best. The food is delicious and the deserts are to die for. They also do special events throughout the year. The Mother’s Day Carvery and the Firework Spectacular are both not to be missed.

Quality service and excellent food from this popular carvery. Never any negatives and you always feel like a valued customer. Venue is superb , spotlessly clean and fantastic views. .. . Perfect.

a top quality carvery,the restaurants light, airy and spacious, with good all round outside views, service was good, staff were friendly and helpful, choice of medium or large plates at no extra cost

This is my second Xmas lunch at the carvery and yet again it was superb. Lovely,genuine warm welcome and spacious venue.Excellent service from the very happy staff. Food was cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Quality of the produce used is to a very high standard. Nothing too much trouble. Bar prices are good and a huge selection of drinks to choose from. We found the atmosphere very Christmassy and all that was missing was the snow. The venue is kept exceptionally clean and the toilets are spotless. All in all an excellent carvery and thoroughly recommended.

This was first time of using zest room for carvery, wont be the last! food was excellent, I had the turkey with lots of veg. The desert was brill. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Can't wait for next march

Our 2nd visit, I'm sure there will be many more. Staff are polite and happy, food is great 3 meats and a variety of veg (plus for the other half is they don't charge extra for pigs in blankets) home made yorkies and a choice of gravy. Cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips on both our visits so hoping these are regulars. 3 courses for under £16 great value.

This is the first time as a group we have visited zest.all went for fund raising night and had a great time, the food was good we had singer who was very good.but the staff were excellent especially young theo hos smile we will all never forget.please keep up the good work will we be.back yes we will.hope all moneys raised will make a difference.

The service for starters was lovely not rushed even though it was busy. The meat was carved to perfection by a sweet lady and my husband asked for the end piece of the beef and she obliged with a smile. Vegetables are in small dishes so are replenished frequently and were fresh and hot.

Lovely Sunday Carvery. Open to people of all ages. Plenty of highchairs available for very young diners

Not been for several years but decided to treat the family.Have to say wasn’t as good as I remembered and soon after I felt unwell which resulted in having to leave the fireworks early as I didn’t feel great at all.warly something I had eaten.Did message them but alas no reply so last visit for us

We have been to this carvery many times before and it is always fantastic food with a great choice of meat and vegetables all for under £10. Sorry but Just one criticism not about the food but the music hardly the sort of music you want to be listening to eating a meal otherwise everything was perfect.

Meat so tender, creamy mash potato, fluffy roasties, perfectly cooked veg and lovely Yorkshire’s! Enjoyed it all!

The staff in the restaurant were very polite and pleasant. The chef at the carvery was very helpful making sure you had all you wanted. The food was lovely and hot and delicious. We enjoyed the sweet too. It was a lovely place to have a family meal. We will be going again soon.

As always, excellent food and customer service. Main and dessert equally Devine. We especially like the loyalty voucher scheme as we got our 2 mains for free this visit! Lovely airy and well spaced seating too. We highly recommend a visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I found the Zest Rooms on Google when looking for somewhere to have a celebration Sunday lunch for a joint birthday party for my wife and grandson. Wow! It was arguably the best carvery I've been to and though they probably could have done with an extra serving station to cut down the queues, the food itself and variety on offer was terrific. The rooms are very spacious and the staff were keen to help when we asked if we could turn our two tables - an eight and a seven - into one long table. The person in charge quickly gathered staff to help and it was achieved in no time.

I went with my partner for the Sunday Carvery and both throughly enjoyed our meal, the staff were friendly but not overly attentive, the meat and veg were perfectly cooked and at a fantastic price, we will now be regular customers

We had a table booked for 16 as it was for my husbands birthday, it’s a lovely place with plenty of space. The carvery was very good and everyone enjoyed it and the desserts were amazing. The staff kindly brought out my husbands cake and sang happy birthday. They then offered to cut the cake and brought out plates. We all really enjoyed and was very pleased I booked it here. We are looking forward to coming back.

My meal was really nice, there is a choice of about four meats, or fish, and all the veg you can think of, but for me the cauliflour cheese was the best I have had at a carvery,

Had a family birthday meal, was told about the very high standard of the food and service and so it proved to be. Will be making Zest our first choice from now on if we are wanting a Sunday Carvery.

Had a another great lunch here with the Family. You always get a warm and sincere greeting from the staff. All the food is cooked to perfection and the cuts of meat are the best you will find anywhere. Loads of piping hot veg to choose from and a great selection of gravy. Zest is a lovely venue with great views across to the coast and fields. Plenty of room and space to move about so no backsides in your meal if other tables decide to get up. The place is spotless and the loos are very clean with plenty of disabled access. The prices are excellent as the quality of the food,the location and the friendliness of the staff makes it worth every penny. Plenty of parking and you can sit outside with a drink afterwards to finish off a perfect lunch. We have tried many Sunday carveries but this one is way ahead of the competition. Thoroughly recommend.

We were staying locally and friends recommended Zest for Sunday lunch. There is nothing that we can find fault with. From the moment we opened the door we were welcomed and received superb service from all staff. The restaurant is light and airy with a lovely calm and relaxed atmosphere. The carvery is probably one of the best we have had. The meat is very well cooked and fresh as are all items served. Starters and desserts were delicious and very good value for money. Can’t wait to return.

Had a fantastic meal for my sons 15th birthday. The staff were really attentive and couldn’t have been anymore helpful if they tried !! It was fairly priced with an excellent selection of food and gravy!!!

Excellent service and the carvery was lovely. Other food options available. Staff made a fuss of my son on his birthday and did a brilliant job when they’re brought his birthday cake out. Highly recommended.

Been here several times and it never fails to impress.Excellent food and great surroundings. Plenty of spacious seating and a no pressure atmosphere.Very well stocked bar and attentive staff serving. Very happy waiting staff and superb service throughout. Quality products cooked to perfection and so much choice. . . .vast selection of gravy too. Very clean restaurant and beautiful views through the windows. Prices are fine as you get what you pay for. . .very highly recommended.

This is our go to place for family meals, excellent food, good quality and plentiful, all set in lovely surroundings overlooking the sea. The staff can never do to much for you.

Was very disappointed on every level meat awful, veg mushy sausages and roast potatoes swimming in fat. Group of 11 and not one of us could eat our meal. Carvery area was not being cleaned. This was a Mothers Day visit and they clearly could not manage the footfall however then don't take the bookings.

Cannot fault the carvery or the staff, on arrival we were greeted by a very friendly smiling member of staff and shown to our table, we were then left to make ourselves comfortable on which the waitress returned to take our orders for starters and drinks. everyone in our party choose the carvery and then were invited to visit the carvery selection the choice was excellent and everything was piping hot, there was also an option of going up for a second helping at no extra cost.

Just Fantastic all round service and food, could not fault it in any way will be going again very soon, thanks you all for a great day was my wife birthday.

Went for a Sunday carvery,have been many times before,£12.95 for 2 courses, £9.95 for main. I think it is one of the best locally,lots of veg choices, and lots of meat. Desert choices are good and well presented.

We visited as a family of 4 for a Sunday Carvery, the area was very relaxing with low level music playing, we felt that the restaurant was very spacious with nobody else hovering on your personal space, the service was excellent and the carvery was the best we have had in the the local area, I would highly reccomend, we has a 15:30pm booking.

Quality of food was excellent staff happy and helpful highly recommend good selection of vegetables and meat

6 of us went for Sunday lunch at a very busy time and we found the food hot tasty and plenty to choose from. The room is light and airy and the views out to sea are lovely. Most enjoyable sunday lunch . We will certainly go again.

Probably the best carvery I have been to..tasty meats and veg. And a choice of up to 4 different gravy too..

Booked ahead to avoid disappointment on the day and glad I did. It was the bowls world final at Potters and the carvery was very busy. Service was good throughout although there was a delay for desert. This was explained by our server which was a nice touch. To be honest after a huge main the wait was fine. The food was well cooked although the beef would have benefited from longer in the oven. As ever a good choice of veg and a mention must go to the cauliflower cheese which was outstanding. Will doubtless be back

If you like a carvery at the weekend this is for you if you like roast meats you're not restricted have generous portions of them all four types of gravy enormous choices of veg large plates as standard unbelievable!!

if you haven't been hear to eat you don't know what you're missing we had the cavalry plus pudding best meal by a long way when we come back to hopton this is the first place on our list

Good choice and plenty of food. However, the vegetables were not as hot as in previous visits. I beleive this is something that can be easily remedied.

The food was fabulous as always and the staff were very attentive and helpful. We were the last family to be booked in and there were 10 of us but at no time did we feel rushed.

Having tried a few places over the years for Xmas lunch we decided to go to The Sunday Carvery at Potters Resort (even though it was Monday ) due the the consistently good food it serves. As always we were not disappointed. Complimentary bucks fizz on arrival and a great welcome from the staff.Taken to our table and everything explained thoroughly by our very cheerful Waitress. Starters were served and was delicious then we had the mains which were fabulous. The meat was cooked to perfection and a huge amount of veg to choose from . The Chef on carving duty was very friendly and helpful. Dessert was lovely and tasty and just enough to end the meal. Finished with coffee and a chat. So was it worth the extra going to this Restaurant . . . .well we had excellent service and fabulous food in a lovely location .Friendly and helpful staff in a very relaxed and spacious Restaurant with a real Christmas atmosphere so I think that answers the question. We will defiantly be booking for next year and thank you for making it a very special day.

Food great portions great service great, one dessert cold but new one brought out quickly no fuss, over charged when paying for 4 desserts so must of been a system issue on the day as tills went down also don’t think it was anyone’s fault ! When mentioned to Barry he refunded with cash no problems

Been recomendet ,pop in woth friends and family on sunday for carvery.Lovely service food exc.choice of grave,only the don't have more veg choice and kids plate for todler,would be nice to give kids normal size plate.Kids don't eat lots anywhere.Food no prob.
