The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Just been in since the refurbishment and it looks great. Gluten free menu has been updated and it tastes great. Some new items on the menu, definitely recommend the desert waffles. Brilliant customer service as always

Avoid at all cost!! Would never come back hear service is terrible the waitress we had was rude and disstrctful. We sat down around 2pm, two adults and two kids. the atmosphere was quite a empty being an Easter Sunday. It too about 10/15mins to order drinks which then took another 20mins to recive them 2 soft drinks and 2 fruits shoots. She then took our food order and waited for an hour for two mix grills and 2 sausage and mash, when it arrive it was bland and no flavour. The waitress didn't do any check back. On the meal and once we was nearly finished she gave us the bill without finishing our food. She also told us if our children can keep the noise down as she couldn't think. Bill came into £66 paid it and left would never recommend to friends or family. Avoid avoid!!!

The venue is amazing. Stepping back in time. Food amazing value for money and and friendly staff. We stayed overnight and the room was immaculate. Praise goes to the two girls who keep the rooms in tip top condition. You do an amazing job and we really appreciated your efforts. Shame we only stayed one night. 3 stars for location just because its not a place we would normally go.

Lovely roast and my partner enjoyed the steak and venison pie.

We had lovely evening at Lion & Lamb as their food was soo good, very responsive staffs, cozy seating area, we enjoyed the evening.Highly Recommended!

Very comfortable stay on a Thursday night. Nice room and bathroom. Good bed and all clean and tidy with secure access to rooms. Above a pub so expect some noise below until last orders unless you are having last orders. Great value and I will stay again and will have a pint and the veggie breakfast next time!

Staff a bit disinterested but food good

My to-go place! home outside of home, the Nectar House is the right place to have a nice lunch, good breakfast, coffe with friends, casual date, a change of environement when I need insipiration... the food is always good, the staff always lovely and welcoming! very good selection of vegan options, tasty, balanced and with real choice! A gem on gloucester road!

The food is exquisite (for burger lovers)kind of lovely staff they stupidly took the pancakes off the menu 4 stars

A drinkers pub, no food, good prices for the customers

we wanted to go here as it had high ratings for valentines dinner phone was dead not able to book on line turned up and the place was closed would hae been good to have a message on the phone or on line informing of the closure

Really lovely meal at The White Horse, I had a classic fish and chips and my husband had several dishes from the Tuesday tapas menu, all of which were delicious. Staff were great and the food was very good value, would definitely return :)

Today we choose of the new menu. The seabass was excellent, would certainly have it again. The chicken salad was also very good. Chicken was grilled beautifully. Averto chef came out to see how our food was, and we had a lovely chat. Linda's customer service as always was fantastic. The manager was ahead of us with opening the door for us. Lovely quality food, excellent service

My local for three years. Although I travel in to town for beers. I long for them to sell a more contemporary hazy pale. Get a Burnt Mill tap on or some cans in the fridge. Then mebbe I can come down and watch the footy.
