we wanted to go here as it had high ratings for valentines dinner phone was dead not able to book on line turned up and the place was closed would hae been good to have a message on the phone or on line informing of the closure

I visited this restaurant with my family for a Sunday lunch. They offer a selection of classic pub main courses, at a reasonable price.For the Sunday roast I opted for chicken. The rest of my party went for a variety of beef, lamb and pork. The one stand out feature is that the portion sizes are huge!!After we had eaten as much as possible we were able to pack the remaining food (half a plates worth) into take away boxes. This resulted in a delicious chicken sandwich the next day.I would recommend this restaurant for a pub lunch, just make sure you go hungry...

Excellent service and good quality food, a slightly bigger menu or a change of menu (last visit about 6-8 weeks ago) is the only improvement I would suggest.

Stopped for late lunch. Had Cajun veg burger and fries and an apple crumble. My friend had a burger and fries. The food was wonderful. Staff were so lovely and friendly. Would go out of my way to return. Really enjoyed.

Popped in for Sunday lunch, relatively busy but managed to squeeze us in! Had the roast beef and roast pork, so tasty! Great flavour and plenty of it! Really lovely and friendly staff! Good value for money! Will definitely return! Thank you!

By chance stopped here for something to eat, quite late on a Sunday afternoon.Great choice! The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating.I had the best burger I’ve had in a very long time. Obviously homemade and cooked just right, not too much bun!Sadly didn’t have room for dessert but the apple crumble was recommended by the friend I was with.Prices very reasonable!I would definitely go there again!

We had a really chilled evening last night for my sisters birthday meal. The place is decorated in a way that is airy and spacious... tables are not all crammed in. Norbury and Tia worked non stop and very personable, friendly and helpful. The food was varied and really good quality. The best meal out I've had for a very long time... everything work... ambience service and food 11/ 10 Thanks guys

Myself and my partner arrived on a Friday lunch time to a quiet Treble tile.The service was excellent and after ordering we waited around 15 minutes for our lunch order to arrive. The sushi was fresh and tasted amazing, The beef Pannini was also a winner for my partner.The food was delicious and we will certainly be back to try the Sunday roast dinner!

We have just returned from a very pleasant evening. We were a party of 8 and we were served by Norbert and Tia and they couldn't have been more helpful, and the food was great - I am sure my wife and I will be back (everybody else was from out of town.Thank you.

Visited Treble Tile last night for dinner with my husband and daughter. Excellent service and lovely welcoming atmosphere. Nothing too much trouble. The food was delicious and will definitely be returning to try out the Sunday lunch.

Went to the Treble Tile tonight (10.08.2019) for dinner with my hubby & 10 yr old daughter. Had a lovely tasty meal from starters to dessert. Great service, very attentive. Would definitely recommend & will definitely be returning in the near future.

Dog friendly and well behaved owners allowed. The staff are so accommodating and foods great too. It’s a very friendly local bar with something for everyone. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Had a fantastic Sunday roast with my mum at the Treble Tile. The beef and Yorkies were particularly lovely a really enjoyable meal. We'll be coming back again for sure!

After a days walk through the country side The Treble Tile offers a welcoming cold beer and friendly smiles from the staff.

The food was amazing and we will definitely be returning ! The waiter that served us was really funny, and made the experience even better!

Really average food, the staff are friendly and helpful, but food was so average, whitebaite came with 5 mins of ordering so must have been pre done. Fish did not taste fresh. Best part was the desert. Won't be going back.

Had a very long wait for food. In fact, as I wasn’t having a starter, I had to wait over an hour for my food. I don’t know what was going on but they seemed to have two very young inexperienced waitresses. I don’t think there was anyone in our party of 8 who didn’t have some complaint about the food and dreadful service. We went years ago and had an issue then but probably changed hands since then. Sad really but doubt if we’ll go back.

Premises have not altered outside, but new management have done wonders with the interior, clean well set out restaurant and great separate bar area. Menu is very good only "pub" type venue that does excellent Sushi. I had the whitebait to start nice size light batter, friends had the Sushi which was excellent Main course friends had curry two different choices, I had slow roasted pork belly with veg, Portions were good, all well cooked. Special dessert was fruit crumble with custard all home made. Norbert gave us all a good welcome service was good make an effort to go here you will like it.

First time back at Treble Tile for a number of years, was not disappointed

We had lunch there today 4th July. The food was of a very good standard, the dining area was well laid out and the staff could not have been more attentive

Never been before so went for sunday lunch food was great nice & hot. Plenty of it. Staff friendly nothing too much trouble. Norbert a great host. Will certainly go back again.

First time back at the Treble Tile for many years. Felt it had changed a bit not least that it had a less formal feel to it. We were made very welcome and got prompt service. Although my wife found the rump steak had too much gristle, my grilled aubergine was wonderful. My son pronounced the spaghetti with meat balls as excellent. The tiramisu was beautifully presented and tasted as well as it looked. A lovely meal in comfortable surroundings. Will definitely be back.

We hadn't been here for a couple of years and not since the most recent changes. The menu is mainly traditional British fayre but options such as curries and sushi. There are weekly curry night and steak night specials. There is also a children's menu. On this visit I choose the daily fish special of lemon sole. It was served with chips and boiled vegetables but the accompanying sauce transformed it into a special flavour. Others in my group had a variety of starters, mains and desserts and everyone agreed it was good food and worth a return visit. Service was good but the restaurant was under occupied for a Saturday night. I hope more people will give it a try, they won't be disappointed.

Came last minute as rating looked good and was not disappointed. Service and food was excellent, we will be back.

when my family went there the waitor was so kind and friendly and the food was amazing so we went back again and it was just as good the portions of fish and chips are giant!

The seats were very comfy, that is about it. 20 mins to be served, 40 mins for mains to arrive and didn’t arrive together. In total after 2 hours of being in the building the mains arrived and sides were missing. Just disappointed

What an absolutely fabulous meal. What a great start to the weekend: superb food, excellent service...What more could you ask?

I was astonished by the quality of this little tucked away village pub I came with 2 other friends last Friday and we were blown away.

Treble tile is one of my absolute favorite places to eat at, took the family for a meal on Friday night, I had the Kleftiko Lamb curry, I cannot fault it at all, it was lovely. Service is always great and our waitress 'Rosie' ensured we had a great night.

I was surprised how good the food and service was in this village pub our waitress was very kind her name was Rosie I think but she didn’t get anything wrong and was really polite.

Food was lovely , service was excellent Rosie who was serving us very attentive. Will definitely be coming back

We visited today for Sunday lunch at The Treble Tile. The food was absolutely delicious and great value. We had Sushi, Miso Soup and Breaded Whitebait for starters. Our Main were Steak, Lamb Roast and Beef Roast. We finished it off with Brownie and Cheesecake. Every single dishes were fantastic. The Pub was busy so no wonder why. All the staff members were very friendly and although busy they were working with a smile. We will defenitely go back soon and you should be too.

Just had an excellent Sunday lunch. We both had the roast pork. Three thick slices of pork, carrots, broccoli, roast potatoes and roast onion, yorkshire pudding. Yummy gravy. Super quality all round and extremely good value. This a venue where lunch is leisurely - it doesn’t come within a few minutes. Good friendly and attentive service.

I had spaghetti and meatballs, it was lovely. The waitress was very attentive and polite, I believe her name was Rosie.

We held my 50th birthday party at the treble tile , 80 guests with a DJ and selection of finger food , from the moment we booked the team at the treble tile could not do enough for us , & the evening was a great success, the TT team simply made the evening perfect , if you are looking for a venue to celebrate I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Treble Tile

We had heard several good reviews recently so I was very happy that my son booked a table here for Mother’s Day. A very warm welcome greeted us and the atmosphere became quite buzzy as the restaurant filled with diners.

Hadn’t been to the Treble Tile for a few years so thought we’d try again for my Mum & Dad’s anniversary. We went at lunch time on a Wednesday and it was very quiet. Food was delicious we were all very happy with our main courses. My little boys children’s meal was very nice and a large portion - he was happy!! I had the syrup sponge for dessert and everyone wished they’d chosen that too when they tried it - it was soooo good!!

Attended a party today for 16 guests including children.

Had dinner a the treble tile on February with my wife it was not pleasant . Mussels not good tasted off my lamb was very dry didn’t like the decor also . Not To our taste ., at the present state will not go back

From arrival to departure it was not a good experience , bland serving not quite bread but. Something. Else ,,mussels had a off smell rump of lamb very dry did not enjoy at. All ,,; would I return A big fat no. .it was not dining but. A journey. Don’t trust me try it yourself !

We went to treble Tile for our wedding anniversary on 6h March, we could not fault the service right from the moment we walked in.

Have visited twice since the new menu was launched, have had the aubergine dish which was excellent - really well cooked and very tasty, also had the vegan burger (I am veggie) friends had the fish and chips and curry and all commented how good the food is. The new menu has plenty of choice and is well priced - do pay this place a visit, it's the only place in West Bergholt you will get a decent meal!

I had a lovely time, staff were very friendly, food was amazing would recommend to everyone. 10/10

For the first time visited The Treble Tile last week. It was a top-notch experience. Our steaks were delicious. We have booked for their steak nights as it seems really good value for money. The menu looks very well thought-out. Sushi, Curry, Pub classics options were great! Nothing like I have seen around in this village. Service was friendly and comfortable. See you this Thursday . I came for the second time with my boyfriend on Saturday night for the 50% off/ Menu Launch night and we were both so impressed. I have the homous and crostini and he had the olives while we waited, the homous was so delicious and just the right size, the olives were lovely too. I then got the Thai green Curry for my main and WOW was it tasty. It was just the right amount of spice, the chicken was cooked perfectly and everything else was equally as great. Good portion size too. My boyfriend had spaghetti and meatballs and he said it was the best he had eaten in a while. I then had the chocolate gateau for desert which was creamy and soft, not dry like some cakes can be. And my boyfriend had the brownie and ice cream which he said was very tasty. Service was great, very attentive and made sure we were happy at all times. A great team they have at the treble tile! I would 100% eat there again too, very impressed!

I really really want this pub to succeed as the village sorely needs somewhere good for dinner. We went with friends for the new menu relaunch last night at 50% off and it still misses the mark by quite a bit. The menu has far too much on it and much of the food is clearly bought in from Brakes or is frozen. The main course calamari had freezer burn and was literally a plate of deep fried batter.

I have been with my wife and friends for have a lovely night out but all it was a very bad experience! The place was dirty and the staff very rude, the service as well was horrible, we ordered some starters but the food was coming late and not all in the same time also cold, the duck was off cause smelling and bad looking. At the final we had an expensive bill!

Have been going to the Treble Tile in it's various guises for the last 30 years and it's had its ups and downs. Latest owners/team have been there for about a year. A few teething troubles at first, but we have visited a few times again recently for both lunch and dinner and feel it's back on track and have really enjoyed our meals there. Come on local people - give it another try!

Booked an evening pre xmas dinner for 11, presentation was good. Would have liked more veg otherwise all was good.

Traditional looking pub with a small modern restaurant, we had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Good food, great staff. All the food we saw coming out looked very tempting. We'll definitely be back.

Being invited by the company I work for for a Christmas Party , I had the pleasure to discover this AMAZING place, nearby the place I live. I have been in a few pubs in and arround Colchester, but at The Treble Tile I discovered the vibe, the soul and spirit of a real british pub. Everything was fantastic, the place, the food and drink, the staff, and of course my colleagues who made the night so special and so Christmas-time amazing.

Excellent lunch. Pleasing décor, Friendly atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, attentive and efficient. Food was excellent,well served and creatively presented. Best pub lunch for a long time.

A massive Thank-you to everyone at the Treble Tile who made our 10th Anniversary such a special one. The staff really did go the extra mile this eve. All the girls were so friendly and very welcoming and they each wished us a Happy Anniversary on our arrival. Enjoyed the most delicious mulled wine before the starters arrived. The food (as always) was perfect. Every visit we are blown away by the perfection of the food and equally the service. We both had the squid for starters. I had a ribeye steak and my wife had the confit duck. Could not fault any of it. Every mouthful was amazing. Beautiful surprise at the end was the dessert coming out with sparklers and a sweet message. Such a lovely touch from the thoughtful staff. Luca was missing tonight but he left us with his girlfriend and boy did she do him proud. We’d eat here every day if we could afford to and if we ever win the Lotto the Treble Tile will need to find themselves a new head chef because we’re going pay Bartosz large sums to be our live-in chef!! The man is a genius. Hat’s off to everyone who made our night so special though. We can not wait to return. Absolutely amazing tonight. Can’t praise you all highly enough. 10/10......again!!!

Arrived at The Treble Tile to meet a friend for lunch on a Wednesday. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who made sure I was seated and comfortable and quickly provided drinks. When my friend arrived we both ordered the Marinated Beef Panini. It came with some salad leaves tossed in dressing and a portion of sweet potato fries. The food was delicious and very good value. I will definitely return for an encore. A fantastic eatery and on my doorstep too!

Really fantastic evening. Squid for starters was tasty. The lamb rump was possibly the best I'd ever had, so succulent.

Myself, finance and Father in law to be had a Sunday roast which was very tasty. The food came out very promptly and the chocolate brownie was one of the best I've ever tasted. Would definitely recommend:)

Went there with work colleagues on 09th November 18. Great Menu, delicious food, plenty of parking. The lady Manager was very helpful and friendly. There were some other dinners who wanted bangers & mash and although this was not on the menu the chef agreed to do this for them. The food is good value for money certainly the best around. Highly recommend it.

I visited the treble tile on the 2nd November with 4 other ladies. When we arrived there was one table finishing up and the bar was empty.

We knew that the Treble Tile had changed hands about a year ago and thought we'd like to try it out. When the previous owners were there we had had many a good meal and had been very sad when they left.

We live locally a decided to try The Treble Tile out as we haven’t visited since the change of ownership. Bad decision. Service, on the whole, was good. Food was so salty it was borderline inedible. My portion of mussels was more a starter portion and was over cooked. On the whole very, very disappointed and won’t be returning.

Had a very enjoyable lunch at the treble tile, definitely the best place to eat in West Bergholt. Very good choice of food and excellent service.

Booked table and when arrived we were greeted with a smile and very happy staff. Nothing too much trouble. The restaurant appeared a little chilly no problem heating turned up and we were all happy. Menu selection was excellent and the food was very good. Dessert menu worth sharing as portions are adequate for two or three if smallish eaters! Very pleasant evening will visit again

Visited Friday lunchtime. Nice decor and a friendly welcome from the host. Very limited menu, but we all found something we fancied. I had the tomato and basil soup, which was very tasty, with a nice little heat to it, served with croutons. Our other starters, prawn cocktail and pâté were ok. For mains I had the fish and chips, nicely presented and good sized portion, but the chips had far too much salt on them, I couldn’t eat most of them, (I did tell the waiter about the salty chips when he came to collect the plates). The fish and sides were fine. My wife had a panini which also came with chips, which were also over salted and inedible. The panini was only lukewarm and didn’t have much cheese inside. Nice venue and staff, and some good food, but overall only average.

Fantastic food, with very good sized portions (definitely on the larger side!). Would thoroughly recommend. We had a range of food from crispy squid for starters, to lamb and mussels for mains. Kids meals were of a good size also. Very well presented with nice, friendly, attentive staff and management. If you eat here, you will not be disappointed.

Lovely meal with the family. Child friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent and although the restaurant was quiet, we were very comfortable. We all chose the burgers which very good. I would say that the dessert menu was limited but adequate. We will be back probably nearer Christmas as the festive menu looks to be very good value.

The accommodation we were staying at told us this place has recently changed owners - not sure when that happened though.

Rang in the morning to book a table for the afternoon for 5. The guy was really accomodating and fitted us in as near to our desired time as he could. The service was great and the food amazing!!!! We will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.

Just been for lunch today and had a really fab meal. We used to come all the time years ago but then had a few bad meals so stopped coming. We thought we’d try it again now that it’s under new management and really glad we did. The food was well presented and tasted good, the service was very friendly, we could not understand why it was so quiet!! Wish we had a restaurant this good in our village, I’d eat there every week. Had the house burger (medium) - wasn’t anticipating something that good. A lovely surprise. Juicy & Delicious.

Visited for a Sunday roast; family of 4. No-one greeted us on arrival. Shown to our table and had to wait 15 minutes before we were acknowledged. Came to take our food order and have to grab them before they ran off to get our drinks order in as nobody had asked us by this point. Then waited another 10 minutes for our drinks to be brought out but they got the order wrong and served us a glass of red wine & white wine instead of 2 glasses of white. One of the glasses of white wine (both ordered as 250ml) was significantly below this. The beer was flat and the barman looked confused when we asked for a replacement. Perhaps change the glasses used??? The refill of water we requested never arrived and had to ask 3 times for this. Their only saving grace was that the chicken roasts were half decent, very large portions but two of us found the gravy overly salty. Husband ordered the leg of lamb but actually got two small slices, not really what he was expecting. Shown the dessert menu which consisted of cheese, ice-cream, granola or apple pie. Not exactly inspiring. The young girls working there were completely disengaging and when they brought the card machine over asked us 'how much is the bill?' That was definitely a new one for me! Never visiting again.

First visit and would definately go again. We support the reviews on the fish and chips plus the creme brulee. But would add the vegetarian options of start of aubergine and the squash salad were amazing. My husband a great fan of mussels said they were the best he'd had in Britain, meets ones had in France. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon.

The Treble Tile accommodated us to a superb dinner and great service after a long day, excellent food and decent drinks. Definitely becoming the local favourite.

We often visit the Treble but today was our 1st visit for Sunday lunch. The food was fantastic, tender beef, tasty veg, delicious homemade yorkshires and importantly, terrific flavoursom gravy. As good as home made but with attentive service. Can't wait to go back.

My steak was the best I have had for a long time, and my partner was equally impressed with the squid and the duck. Luca is charming too, so highly recommend and we will definitely return soon.

We where a family of eight with two young children. We booked for 6pm , the place was empty so expected not to wait too long. The service was terrible no one seemed to know what they where doing. We waited ages for starters and mains had to pass on desserts due to the time taken. Food was average not worth the wait. Was given the bill three times. Will not to be back!!!

Went after reading great reviews for my daughters birthday midweek at 6pm knowing it wouldn’t be busy and although there was only us and one other table the service was terrible and the food not much better unfortunately.

We are local so Popped in for lunch and was very surprised. The staff were so friendly the food was delicious and the prices very reasonable. In fact we were so impressed we booked to come back in the evening with friends and also made a Sunday lunch booking as their roasts sound amazing. The restaurant has recently re opened and was very quiet. Come on locals, we really do need to support this type of restaurant in our area if we don't use it we lose it and that really would be a shame. In my opinion this is now one of the best restaurants in Colchester.

Food maz amazing. I had the squid and the aubergine, my family had the roasted chicken and burgers. It was all amazing. Desserts were to die for ( and I am not even a dessert person!)

What a fabulous evening we had. The food was delicious...the company was exceptional but most of all, the helpful friendly and accommodating staff were beyond expectation. This is a lovely restaurant which does ‘our of this world!’ Sunday roasts! Having just moved to West Bergholt this will be our new go to for Sunday roasts! Luca and his team are very accommodating and can’t do enough for you! Thank you TT for a beautiful meal ❤️

Really lovely guy running this pub/restaurant, very friendly and helpful, as was the waitress. Food was very tasty and well presented. Ambience and decor very well done and tasteful. Thoroughly recommend this place.

We have seen this lovely pub/restaurant change hands a few times but haven’t had a meal under new management. From the day I booked my husbands 40th birthday meal for a party of 12 they have been nothing but attentive and helpful. We arrived today and everyone’s meal was given at the same time (it was pre booked, but it worked!). The food was delicious and plentiful. We will certainly be booking another meal soon! Had lunch here yesterday with heavily pregnant daughter and 14 year old son.

The staff are very nice and the food is absolutely amazing it is a very nice atmosphere and I can’t get over how nice it is here I very highly recommended it

I took my 2 grandchildren for lunch here the other day. The food was great and my only “complaint”is that the size of the child portion of fish and chips was enormous. I was expecting a couple of fish fingers and a few chips but I would have had difficulty eating it myself!

Just had the best meal we've had in ages, steak was spot on and the soft shell crab salad was delish, think I just found my new favourite place to eat. Thank you Luca we will be back very soon

The food was magnificent each of our three courses were prepared and served to the highest standards.

As the title says, we just popped in, the reason ? to raise a glass to my Stepfather, my Mums late husband. We didn't want to eat but fancied something to nibble and our host, Luca ( i hope I spelt it right) recommended a platter for two. I should have done the take a picture thing of our platter but we both dived in and wow, lunch was reinvented. Beautifully presented and a perfect example of complimentary tastes to accompany our drinks.. I do not write reviews as a rule but we were given a card and asked if we would. Now the food aside, our service, ( it wasn't busy) but we were made to feel that we were the only customers and that nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for such a wonderful "pop in". We will return to try your Menu.
