Not as good as it used to be.... I ordered a meaty breakfast, my sausage was luke warm, and the eggs not done properly. Quality of ingredients deteriorated. I also didn't appreciate the loud and overbearing server and the other staff member eating their food in front of the customers, a bit unprofessional in my opinion...

I had a halloumi burger, with chilli jam, bacon, salad, fries, etc, and it was delicious, for the price that you pay, it’s definitely really good quality food, and everything was cooked to perfection, not too mention the staff are really attentive, friendly, and genuinely nice people, so that’s also a bonus. the whole place is really cosy, and wholesome, lovely in the evening, or when it starts getting a bit darker with all of the little fairy lights and decor. would recommend too people if they asked for a good place too eat, well done the nectar house!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

THE BEST BREAKFAST PLACE IN BRISTOL!! I could rave about this place all day long and write a 5000 word essay about how good this place is. From the most friendliest staff that are genuinely happy to be there (which is rare in hospitality) and always finding a way to struck up a positive conversation, to the atmosphere the place has. Nectar house has such an incredible atmosphere so cosy and hippie dippie I LOVE IT. Now to the best part of all……. THE FOOD OMG THE FOOD. The breakfast slays so hard it always come out Micheline Star level. If I was sentenced to death my last meal would be here without a second thought. Big portions and variety of foods. So accommodating to all diets: vegan, veggie, meat, gluten free. Oh and the owner is so wonderful. Polish owner of the year awards, so friendly and always makes sure to say hello to the regulars. This place is sick and twisted because I fight the urge to go there and spend all my money everyday.

We visited The Nectar House with friends and I think I immediately met the man other reviewers were referring to!! 😂 At first, we only ordered drinks. I’m allergic to gluten and oats (unfortunately) and I’m vegetarian - only cows’ or oat milk are available. This wouldn’t be a problem if handled correctly, but unfortunately our man was not having a great start to our conversation 😅 He really changed and was nice when helping me to choose food, which I really appreciated! He recommended the vegan brunch, but for nearly £14 and for the size (which appeared too big for me), I asked for the smaller option of veggie-sausage gf sandwich. I received a veggie-bacon sandwich, which literally meant one slice of veggie-bacon cut up inbetween two pieces of toast 🤷♀️ Not even butter 😂 We also got the granola, which was a weird combination of lots of greek yoghurt, apricot jam and chocolate sauce (?!) on top. The almond croissant looks lovely! (Albeit not gluten free, but that’s impossible to find anywhere!) The atmosphere is really nice, very ambient, appropriate music, lovely decor and tables. Go with a great appetite for the fry-up, and you’ll probably have a lovely experience!

Had a lovely vegetarian breakfast and wonderful coffee at this delightful cafe on Gloucester road. We arrived as soon as they were open on a sunday morning and people were waiting outside which was a good sign and we could see why! Loveliest breakfasts ever ❤️ Only negative was the uncomfortable seats but the staff and food make up for it. Would definitely visit again.

First time trying this place and I'm so disappointed. I've ordered a vegan salad from the lunch menu and it had a really weird taste with a very awful barbecue sauce on top. It wasn't fresh and tasted odd. So, I returned my meal as I couldn't eat it, then they wanted to charge me for a replacement meal of my choice. The manager didn't even come to us at least to apologise.. I really feel sorry for the rest of the staff as he was rude to them. The waitress who served us tried to help me and the manager reply was "well she didn't tell us about any allergy so no she can't have something else instead unless she pays for it“. As a costumer I have all the rights to complain if it's something wrong with my meal, especially after I paid for it in advance + the service charge. What a disappointment!

We waited about 45 minutes for our food, and no one informed us about the delay. The breakfast was typical but quite expensive compared to the quality. I had been there before and remembered it differently, which is why I returned with friends. Unfortunately, I was disappointed; the eggs were poorly cooked, and the gluten-free bread was the cheapest kind, which I don't even eat at home. This was very disappointing, especially since there's a great bakery right next door. Additionally, the gluten-free bread was served under the bacon, soaking up all the grease. The service was so-so. I admire the girls for somehow managing the chaos, but I didn't like that a guy, probably the manager, kept telling them what to do before they finished one task. He even interrupted us while we were ordering to give instructions to the girls. It was strange to me. I see that someone else has pointed out similar issues in their reviews, but it seems no one has taken it to heart, which is a shame.

Expect kombucha, quirky mohair jumpers, man buns and staff using carabiners to juggle keys at The Nectar House. First of all the place has decent food, and a good menu with nice coffee and juices but feel like there are a lot of places that can match the quality, it’s very standard brunch fare. The place has nice decor and I’m sure the garden would be lovely in the summer. However really really didn’t like the service and atmosphere here. It gets busy I understand during the weekend but it felt like we weren’t being taken care of while waiting and staff were pretty cheeky asking us to move out into the cold and rain. When I was ordering staff kept interrupting me mid sentence rudely. The whole vibe was a bit pretentious hipster and lazy. I know this is Gloucester Road but it did feel a bit too much. One of the things that bothered me about the laziness was getting stuff for the table. I don’t really understand these places that make you get all your cutlery, condiments and tap water yourself. That is meant to be done for you, especially considering it’s already a pretty small place having people crowd around a cutlery station getting in the way of wait staff transporting food seems a bit stupid during rushes. Also what’s the point of there being a bench being in the middle of the restaurant but not allowing anyone to sit on it? Remove it or use it, stop telling off customers for using their common sense. Won’t be coming back for a while. Lots of other nice places on Gloucester Road. It’s a bit overrated.

Amazing food, a little bit more expensive than your regular fry up but you can tell by the quality of ingredients that it’s worth it, I got a classic English breakfast and wasn’t disappointed all of my friends loved their food too. Their chai latte is amazing, you can really taste the ginger which is lovely on a cold day. If it was only up to the food I’d give 5 stars, however we’ve been seated right by the door to the smoking area and over the course of our meal the waiters going in and out kept leaving the door open, it was a cold day so it’s gotten quite annoying that our table as well as occasional people from tables nearby had to keep getting up to close the door as everyone was getting cold. It was a bit annoying so if you want to stay warm while eating your food I’d recommend getting a table far away from the back door.

Lovely little cafe/restaurant. I came here for a Chai Latte and a cinnamon pastry. The cinnamon pastry was vegan (according to the sign) and was absolutely delicious. The pastry texture was perfect but i would recommend adding more liquid to the filling, since it was grainy at parts. The Chai Latte is one of the best I've had in ages. Really flavourful with spice mixed throughout! There were no issues with service and they were very nice. What really lets this place down is the prices! I can get the same quality food for much lower price at other places.

Basically opposite the old Bristol North Baths, just a bit further down from Bakers and Co. The Nectar House offers a vibrant atmosphere and decor with great coffee and hearty food. We went for brunch and we were not disappointed. The welcome was spot on, friendly and relaxed. We found a table near the back. We wanted to sit outside but you can't have it all, it was busy, a good sign. We ordered a latte, cappuccino and flat white, which were all very good. For brunch we ordered 2 fry ups, one sourdough with extras and one beetroot carpaccio. Everyone enjoyed their meals and just relaxed. The food and coffee pricing were on par with other good cafes in the area and the quality was on point. I would happily return again and so would any of my party. Update: Had a cooked breakfast again. Decent breakfast and coffee, very polite/friendly member of the team. The food on display all looked really nice. Bit breezy with the front and back door open but I closed the back door, so no problem really. Good vibe in the cafe..

Visited for a Sunday morning brunch. Place was pretty popular and packed but managed to find a seat outside to watch life go by. This was clearly quite a cool spot, well decorated and had a nice ambience. Ordered a fry up breakfast, as well as a coffee, and a cake. There was a wait for food, but not as long as the staff anticipated which was nice! Fry up was good. As other reviewers mentioned it is a bit fancy, streaky bacon and apple sausage, but it is nevertheless still very nice. It was a bit dear for the portion, but this is Bristol so I could understand that. Coffee very good and the cake was good, but not stand out quality. Overall, rather lovely and would definitely try again.

Lovely venue and fabulous coffee but for me the food was a bit of a let down. The high priced (£13) breakfast was mediocre at best. The apple sausage (only one) was dry and broke into pieces. Would have preferred a nice, full flavoured and moist pork sausage - preferably two at that price point. The bacon was thin, hard American style streaky, the eggs were fine, as were the hash browns. The mushrooms were spoiled by some odd tasting herb - I love mushrooms and believe that they are rarely enhanced by additives aside from butter and garlic but couldn’t eat these since they just didn’t taste like mushrooms! Beans (tiny portion) and toast were OK but the Kale - why? Large portion of green stuff taking up lots of space on the plate. Totally irrelevant in terms of taste enhancement for a good, Sunday breakfast. Lovely staff and nice clientele - had a good social experience - but disappointed in the taste combinations and would not return unless there was a menu change.

Had dinner and breakfast here while staying at the hotel. During dinner Mushroom truffle soup was delicious, and lambchops were ok. However service was very slow, we waited quite long time for our meals to arrive, and no one came to clear empties or clean the table after starters or after the main meals.. Breakfast is okay with many options but it is lacking fresh cucumbers, fresh tomatoes, olives, and cheese ( such as gouda, feta, or english cheddar )
