Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, Jack was especially helpful and gave us good recommendations.

Second time visiting this pub, the atmosphere was good and I had the best steak sandwich ever.

Sian was fantastic, funny too! Recommended food choices and was spot on. Service was great. Food also. And thank you for my wife’s birthday drink !! You saved my bacon 🥓!

Not the greatest to be honest the Garlic bread was incinerated then did change tho and was good after but why serve like that! The chicken in the salads was dry and overcooked My fish cakes were lovely my wife's gammon was great Needs more attention on the pass stuff sitting under heat lamps ! Got 3 stars for food as 2 meals were good 2 meals were frankly awful

Lovely piping hot lasagne with a gorgeous salad dressing. My sticky toffee pudding was also amazing. Good service. Previous reviews about rude staff had put me off but so glad we came here. Will be back soon.

I wasn't keen in hoping back to this venue as, we went about a year ago and it was bad! But I'm delighted to say, they have really worked hard to turn things around. The food was excellent a long with the service.

Booked to go to the Colney Fox for lunch on Boxing Day. We were a party of 5 but the website said there were no tables available so I booked a table of 4 and asked if we could have an extra chair put on the end However on arrival the staff found us a very nice table for 6 which was excellent. We had the 3 Course Boxing Day menu which was outstanding. Even though they were very busy, we were very well looked after by Georgina, who made our visit special. We look forward to returning to the Colney Fox soon 😀

Lovely pub, large car park plenty of spaces, Good prices for the food! Food was lovely my only comment was the chips wernt very nice, tasted undercooked and were hard. But everything else was perfect! Staff were ok, didnt interact much as we ordered on the app! Would come back.

Anniversary Dinner The food was excellent and the service was too. A very enjoyable evening for our anniversary. Our hostess Georgina was very helpful, polite and bubbly which made our evening all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Ploughman’s not the same as menu .. not a lover of eggs and menu said sausage roll not eggs … very poor for price .. could of had slice of ham not a whole apple for £12.95 .. usually food is very good .. waitress was excellent and entry staff very polite ..

Great Holiday Lunch here. Friendly served by Georgina which makes the whole meal very enjoyable. Would definitely like to visit again during Easter.

Awesome Sunday roast and reasonable prices too. We have tried all the different roasts they're all great.

Nothing at all wrong with the food but we had to wait 30 mins for our table ( for 12 people) and we’re there for 4 hours overall for lunch .

EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE THANKS FOR LOOKING AFTER US

Tori was an exceptional server who didn't hastle us through our meal but let us enjoy it and we never felt rushed or in the way like you do in some places.

Staying here for few days. Travelled from Ireland and from the minute we got here the staff have been so helpful. Had dinner here on 1st night and the food was amazing. Tory couldn't do enough for us she and the rest of staff are so friendly. Everything is reasonably priced and location is ideal.

A delicious lunchtime meal for a girly catch up, in a lovely country pub setting, with exceptional service from the lovely Megan. Will definitely be coming back soon!

A great country-style pub for a social meet up and a bite. It was a Monday lunch and chosen as a central location for a work meeting but for that it was perfect. This place is huge inside (and out), with separate pub and formal dining areas, and a an excellent food and drink menu to match. There was no problems parking in the huge car park (for free), found a table where we could use our laptops and then order food for lunch. The steak sandwich was good quality and the service fast. I'll definitely use for a work lunch meeting again.

Lamb rump roast x 2 Was excellent 👌 perfectly cooked and tasty vegetables. Non fatty and good portions of lamb. Roast potatoes need improvement but overall it was excellent for a chain.

Came to the Fox for mother days lunch with my mum. The service was great both Megan and Ellie were lovely and kind when serving us. The food was great as usual. I was very happy with the venue

We had such a lovely Mother’s Day lunch here. We didn’t book a table and we were accommodated straight away. The service was excellent and the food was lovely. Extra large portions but went down a treat. The atmosphere here was great, lively and very friendly. We will be back!! 10/10 experience even on a very busy day. Thank you Elle for your table service

What a lovely restaurant to be taken to for Mothers day. Food was lovely and came out in a timely fashion considering how packed it was. We had a lovely lady call Tori who to care of us and nothing was to much. Will be recommending this place to friends and family and look forward to visiting again.

We came in to the Colney fox on a Sunday night although it seemed busy Adam did a great job at managing his time with the tables and made our night very special so many thanks to him and the team

The cauliflower cheese was hard to eat plus the broccoli as if it hadn't been cooked properly

Mum and I had a lovely fish and chip lunch yesterday at the Colney Fox. The food was delicious and the portions were huge - I thought mum wouldn't be able to finish it but she did ! Georgina was lovely and very kind to my mum, who is in a wheelchair. She gave us a spacious table in a quiet corner and nothing was too much trouble for her. We will definitely be back for further lunch dates. Thank you for lovely visit.

It was nice to sit by the fire Georgina was very helpful and friendly The people who worked there often came over and asked us if we needed anything and if the food was okay

We stayed here for a few nights and used the 'meeting space' for daily meetings. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was super and the staff were very attentive and helpful throughout our time here.

Lovely pub for a Sunday Roast, the food was great. Our server Adam was very helpful and attentive.

We arrived and stood and ignored by the bar staff for 12 minutes like lemons, felt so unwelcome and all we heard was this is not available and this needs to be taken off the till, until a lady. And over took us to our table where our friends had been waiting for 20 mins. Really not a great start. Then Georgina came over introduced herself took our drinks order, helped with food selection and made us feel welcome and wanted. It was like night and day between the waiting and bar staff. I can’t emphasise how rude the bar staff were just ignoring us, we would have walked out had it not been for our friends were joining us. Food was good and as described.

Beware.... Pub is good but as a first timer was not aware of registering your vehicle to ironically park in the customer car park. Never have seen this before and therefore was not looking for signage. Also was not told when ordering drinks from the bar which might have been helpful. Anyhow 1 pint and £60 parking later, feeling a little annoyed. Hello, appreciate your response but if you are implementing this type of parking services, then there should be a fail safe to avoid these chargers. As said, this is an uncommon process, not sure there is another pub in St Albans that has this. When parking I'm concentrating on driving, I'm not looking out for signage. I'm focused on enjoying meeting up with a friend. I've emailed Euro Car Parks our receipt and still appealing. Many car park have CCTV for security as duty of car, just don't understand the need to issue £100 PCN charges.

5 stars, thoroughly enjoyable experience and food. Service from Georgina was great.

Love it here! I’ve eaten here a few times and the food is always lovely, the staff are so attentive and polite. I had brunch here for the first time today and it was freshly cooked and so good! Good size portions and good quality, very well cooked. The best cooked brekkie I’ve had out for a while! Will definitely be returning 😊
