The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Simply wonderful. Came from Suffolk to meet family for a 60th birthday Sunday lunch. Had to pre-order what we wanted as there were 11 of us. This worked perfectly as our lunch was freshly cooked and served not long after our arrival. The chef came out several to make sure everything was good and to ensure our one vegetarian diner was properly catered for. Really good food, great staff and a very lovely venue. Would highly recommend and will visit again when in the area. Top draw.

Poor lunch menu then they didn’t have most ingredients. Al dente microwaved jacket potato pretty poor. Best part was the chips, took an age to get a baguette and jacket potato to us after the kitchen staff shouted service followed by a big sneeze lovely. Staff seemed un interested not what it used to be unfortunately.

It was ok. Not to my liking though.

Fullers pub is not a Fullers pub without ESB on tap .. and this one has ESB on tap/pump whoo hoo

Had a lovely Sunday roast for Mothers Day. 6 people enjoyed starters, main and pudding all served by lovely staff . Compliments to the chefs and kitchen staff for the amazing food. Everyone left happy and full. We always enjoy eating at the Royal Oak.

Nice quiet site with a short walk into town. Pub now closed unfortunately. Sign of the times I guess. Clean facilities on site with one toilet and one shower. (Only went in gents side). Fresh water, grey waste and elsan point on site too. Warm welcome by the owners and left to enjoy the area. Little bit of road noise during the day but this quietens down as the evening goes on.

Excellent beers and service as always. Friendly local. Highly Recommend. Thankfully Cross Keys remain a friendly good ale pub. Long may that continue.

Ignorant staff horrible they make you get out before they are closing before they are ment to .and you are lucky to not be here

I've wanted to go to this pub for ages. The reason being it was Keith flints pub. I was absolutely made up that I've photos of me outside which I'll frame. I do live far away so this has made my year being a big fan. I went inside and it was not what I expected. To be honest it has some nice charm to it. A real nice country pub. Prices are reasonable and the bar staff very friendly. I would recommend and would love to go back again.

We go here for Sunday lunch on a regular basis now as the food is excellent. You get good sized portions, though extra roast potatoes are a must. Selection and menu are very good and the seating comfortable. They also have decent wine.

He estado comprando fish 'n chips de ellos durante años. Nunca me han decepcionado con lo que producen, desde su pequeña porción para 2. 50 a lo suficiente como para alimentar a cinco de nosotros. Puede esperar mientras se cocina pescado fresco o más chips, pero siempre vale la pena.

What an absolutely delightful place, me and my husband stayed next door after a flight so decided to have our evening meal here and how glad we were that we did, I was craving an ‘English’ meal so decided on the fish and chips and it was delicious and our waitress Zoe was amazing, very helpful, attentive, smiley and could tell she was pleased to help us, she was an absolute delight, so thank you Zoe 😊
