Staff are helpful and polite, food is well cooked, fresh, and plenty of it and just a nice place to sit and have some good food with family/ friends.

Guy who served us today was so good, running around clearing tables, serving and being ever so helpful. Makes such a difference coming in and having a friendly server

Food was excellent, the service outstanding and the portions generous. There are options for vegan/vegetarians as well. In addition it is a nice pub in a lovely location.

Always a decent plateful of food and meat is always very good. Veg can be a bit tired, as I guess it's been out for a fair amount of time and not always tasting fresh. Service excellent. Jo was great with us and very patient as we tried to grapple with the app and the discount vouchers we had! Many thanks to her, especially as she was obviously busy at peak time!

Very busy place, breakfast is buffet style help yourself.

Food is decent as ever but the veg is getting poor. Been made so far in advance, it looks dry and tired even at lunchtime. Could be a lot fresher sadly.

No service. Was just left. Ordered some bits whilst waiting for group to arrive. Waited another 45 minutes so could order carvery. No one came back. Had to just go help ourselves in the end. Went to bar and they told us to wait for servers who were busy having a conversation in the corner. Food Ordered still hadn't arrived after over an hour. Had to chase. Finally managed to order what we had already eaten after we finished our food. Ordered dessert. Dessert came out wrong. Sent back and they half wiped the plate and gave it back to us. When questioned apparently that's policy. Couldn't Eat it as was Ordered without cream for a reason and they left half of it on the plate. Still charged for dessert. Even though was wrong and refused to redo it. Complained to staff on site and was just brushed off. Refused to remove dessert and told would have to make complaint. Made complaints on 15th December and still no reply. No one has contacted to discuss. Emailed again on 27th December. No reply just a gift voucher sent for the same restaurant I'm not even local to.

Had a lovely Cavery menu, first time but definitely not the last. Yummy and tasty food. Jo was welcoming and offered a great service.

Food was good! Service was fantastic! We hadn’t booked and we got a table for 7 on a Sunday! Atmosphere was quite chilly in the room we were in, also needed some music on as rather quiet. But on the whole very good!

First time visit for years. Food was overcooked and in some cases tasteless. The brussels sprouts were foul.

Price for festive menu too expensive for the choice for each course. Not much on starters we liked or pudding choices.

Enjoyed breakfast & a carvery over recent months. Breakfast was much quieter compared to evening carvery, food delicious & staff friendly.

Quick to seat and serve us despite being a busy time, all staff were friendly and food good quality

Great for a huge plate of roast dinner. If you use the Yorkshire puds wisely you can really stack the plate.

In my opinion the food is not up to the standard it used to be. Hadn't been there for some considerable time and it was not up to the last visit. The meat was fine, but the vegetables I thought were mediocre. Prices have risen noticably too. Perhaps I hit it on a bad day.

Had a Christmas meet up with friends and had a great dinner. food was delicious and hot very tasty. The table and surrounding area were clean Our waitress was friendly and polite As was most of the staff that we met The menu had a great choice and the sticky toffee pudding is made on site and sooo delicious Well worth a visit and will definitely be visiting again

Great venue for a big family get together. Kieran, our waiter, went out of his way to accommodate our group and nothing was too much trouble. We were made very welcome and the food was great

Unfortunately it was very busy and very under staffed. And what staff there was went on their breaks together. Other wise good value for money and a lovely pub

Not impressed. Got there with a booking for 2 waited 10 minutes to be Seated then sat there for 15 minutes, and having to get up and ask for drinks and cutlery, then 10 minutes later my partner had to go ask again. The staff remembered we ordered it and then went and got it. Roast potatoes where hard on the inside so not fully cooked. will not be returning anytime soon as was not impressed at all.

Our server was Joanne (Jo) and was absolutely amazing. A breath of fresh air, didn’t stop running about keeping everyone happy but still had time to stop, laugh and joke with us and all the other tables she was serving. Even in the busiest of times, with staff like that everything will continue to run smoothly. The food was top notch, the carver was friendly and welcoming to the children. Overall, it was a lovely evening out.

Overall it was all so lovely however when I asked to change my desert one of the staff members rolled her eyes at me as if it was something major.

Food was very nice, we didn’t have to wait to be seated and queue for the carvery was very short so we were able to get our food quick and service from Kieran was very nice.

Visited tiny carvery Colchester 7/12/2024 it was really busy but was checked in by members of the making sure we were ok . The carvery was excellent loads of choice crispy roasties. We were looked after by lily , she was so lovely… attentive and smiling. It was an absolutely great experience! Will be coming back soon … Thankyou ! Customer service was excellent

Lovely carvery for lunch, service from Emma was excellent.

Come in Lunchtime on a Sunday and although busy, it was really lovely. Wasn't noisy. Emma was our waitress and was fantastic! Couldn't help us enough. The queue for food was only a couple of mins and everything was delicious. Thanks again Emma! We'll be back!

Just visited the White Hart Toby Carvery with my dad for his 81st birthday. Access is great for less mobile visitors, prices are brilliant value for money, and all staff were extremely accommodating. We were lucky enough to be served by Jo, who was friendly, efficient, helpful and considerate. Everything was fabulous and would recommend this venue highly. The food was fresh and plentiful, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Thanks to the whole team (especially Jo!) for giving my dad (and us) a lovely lunch.

Food wasn't very hot. Roast potatoes were anaemic. Vegetables were not hot and meat portions could have been better. A complete disaster all round.
