The Brache in Luton

Very good food. Did get a chance to look in the kitchen, it was dirty and untidy, a little bit concerning. The food and service was excellent.

I booked a table for a group of us to celebrate our brother's 40th birthday over the phone. I thought I was going to be able to talk to a human, unfortunately it was a booking bot who couldn't answer my questions and got my name wrong. I had to amend the info on the confirmation email I received. Having said that when I did send an email to the Brache, apart from their email system going down, they didn't answer my questions when they replied back to me. Bear this in mind, you may as well just book online rather than calling or go and see them. Anyway regarding the evening of the booking. my sis and I got there early to find out if the table was ready so I could add some balloons and I also handed them the cake for later. We also met our server, Lauren for the evening. The venue was packed, great atmosphere and many celebrating birthdays. The food took longer to come out than usual. This was due to them being down on chefs. A BIG shout out to Lauren, she was great, she was so transparent and told us what was going on. As we had one child in the group, she made sure food was gven to him first and she kept checking on us in case we needed anything else in the mean time. I gave the 'food' 4 stars as the first plate of mains for my sister and I was overcooked, and we struggled cutting into it, everyone one else's food was good. I showed Lauren and she said it was unacceptable so she took the plates away and we got round 2 which was so much better. Lauren brought the cake to the table along with a few other servers who then sang 'Happy Birthday'. It was quite late into the evening but she did everything for us to have a lovely time. I hope Lauren's manager acknowledges her and how she handled things on Saturday (6.4.24). Thanks for taking the group pics too. Thank you Lauren, we had such a fab time and we hope you didn't get home too late! Please remember, instead of having a go at the server, they can only do what they can in the given circumstances, instead be patient, kind and grateful, it goes a long way!

We spent quite a lot of money (over £90 for 4 of us) and could have got a better burger & service at McDonald's! My wife and I were given the wrong burger and when we complained, the waitress brought us out a plate of horrible bacon (not as crispy as it looked in the photos!!). The staff didn't seem to care what quality of food they were presenting to us. And I can only assume the chef has the same attitude. Overall, an unpleasant experience and would not recommend it to anyone. I think you need to up your game due to the choice we have around that area.

Never have enough staff on to serve at the bar, went with a work group and ordered food. It’s pretty standard pub food, not awful and not bad value for money. If you’re not expecting gourmet you should be fine

This pub is adjacent to the premier inn who I made a 2 day booking for room and meals at the Brache, first night was good, second night the very rude manager told me because they were busy I couldn’t have a table and would have to eat in the bar area, order my food at the very busy bar which took almost 40mins to then be told I wasn’t booked in, obviously I was because I was there the night previously. Eventually after a bit of a discussion I got a table that was dirty and the food was bland, I will not be staying here again.

Awful experience. Staying at the premier inn so went across the road for a quick dinner before we got the kids to bed. I wish we would have gone to McDonalds or even the vending machine in the hotel. The food was horrible, we fly at 3am so needed to fill up until we could get some more food at the airport else I wouldn’t had ate anything. Our order was wrong and they had a lot missing off the menu. But we were too tired to point this out as this was the third time we had to adjust things. The kids menu was different to the one on their website. Staff were lovely but forgetful and didn’t seat us for 15 minutes when we got there (even though they walked past us multiple times and cleaning tables next to us, it was empty). Would definitely try somewhere else if you have a car and can get there. If not, don’t order the burger!

26/3/24 booked table for 12.30. Bit of a wait as only two ladies seemed to be doing everything (short staffed). Food ordered ... long wait but with good company time flew. Food good, burger juicy and all plates cleared of food. Will visit again.

Great experience at the Brache Beefeater, my server Emma H was great. Emma went above and beyond to make sure the meal was perfect and could not do enough for the table. Cannot fault the experience at all, will definitely be back. Great quality food for very reasonable prices especially on the evening set menu!

Staff not interested, zero service rating. Waited at the bar for staff to finish their group conversation? No cutlery and tables need clearing. When we mentioned the lack of cutlery the lad went back and got some, walked straight past us and dumped in the area. Cheers bud? Half glass of cider smelled of ammonia? Changed with no apology. Thank god it was only a flying visit.

Today was an amazing experience thanks to Milly the excellent waitress. She went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and that I had everything I needed, as well as attending to the other diners. Milly, if you're reading this, a big thank you to you.

Lovely environment. Excellent value for money lunch deal. Delicious fish and chips. Served by Megan who was polite, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.

I had one of the most horrible experiences at this establishment last night. My evening started off by waiting a ridiculously long time for a drink, as the poor bartender seemed to be the only person in sight doing any work. I don’t begrudge her at all for the wait but it would have been nice to see another pair of hands when the bar was as busy as it was. And this is not the first time that I have witnessed such severe understaffing at this bar. Then as the night was ending, I had the unfortunate experience of watching as the bartender was abused from the other side of the bar by people who can only be described as ‘pikeys’. They were there drinking from before I arrived right until it closed. Last orders were called in good time and I got my last drink and was enjoying the last dregs of the evening, and I watched at this large group all got one last drink from the bar, as you do with a last order call. They then proceeded to try their luck and order yet another drink at the bar, to which they were (obviously) told no. This then caused absolute havoc, as they were demanding to be served, and abusing the one member of staff, shouting and swearing and just being all around disgusting. One of them then pulled out a phone and shoved the camera in this girls face, refusing to stop filming. This threatening display should have resulted in them being removed from the building. Not only was it uncomfortable to watch as a patron, but it looked as though it would have been a terrifying ordeal for someone who is simply trying to do her job to have to deal with. The next series of events however, were what shocked me the most. When this member of staff called for help from (I assume) a senior member of staff this person (I believe I heard the name Claire) SERVED these people another round of drinks! As someone who has had previous experience in hospitality I am shocked at this outcome, but as a general member of the public, I am disgusted at how this member of staff was treated by her own colleagues, and I wouldn’t expect to see this anywhere. I sincerely hope you deal with this situation correctly, and that the member of staff who undermined and disrespected her colleague is reprimanded accordingly. Thank you.

We really did have a lovely Mother's day lunch out! Lauren was our server and that girl is just phenomenal at her job - we always had drinks before the last was finished and she communicated about the food wait and we had such a laugh with her in meantime! I will say, the food wait was long, which is okay as we had nowhere else to be but when it arrived, it just wasn't that great. Staff seemed really distressed at all times (and I even saw some tears). We really felt for everyone working on Mother's day. Thanks to all and we'll be back again.

Booked a table of 8 for a Mothers Day lunch. We knew it would be busy and we’d have to wait a little longer for drinks and food. Lauren , our server, was great at managing our expectations and service in general. Despite the fact the restaurant was full she always had time for us and was attentive and professional throughout our visit. Lauren did a great job during what seemed to be a very challenging day for all of the servers. Standard of food was good and we all enjoyed our meals.

Booked on a very busy Mothers Day. Our waitress, Lauren, did a sterling job keeping us fed and watered under challenging circumstances. Always had time for us with a cheerful and professional demeanour. Standard of the food was average.

We went for a family breakfast this morning to celebrate Mother's Day - even though the place was extremely busy the staff on duty were extremely efficient and polite - a special mention to Patricia who was Fantastic - happy smiley and very engaging throughout our visit - a lovely lady who took the time to pop a plaster on my grandsons hand where he had scratched himself thank you Patricia you are a diamond!!!

Really surprised on how good the service was and the foods! Really enjoyed the steak, fantastic service by Alisha. Recommended!

Came here as part of the premier in meal deal for an evening two course meal. Really good steak - actually surprised at a rare steak done well (no pun intended) at a chain restaurant. Would definitely come back if in the area again. Must say the service provided by Alisha was fantastic. Really happy and friendly server who couldn't do enough for us

They need to change the chef. Meals were burnt. There was no excuse, as the restaurant was empty when we arrived. Came back two weeks later for a friend's birthday, same thing happened. Overpriced for burnt offerings. the lasagna portions are now half the size and u get a small piece of garlic bread with it.

Stopping at the joined Premier Inn this was an easy choice for dinner before we caught our flight. Quite an extensive menu, improved from the last time we visited a Beefeater and the food was tasty and hot, obviously just prepared and delivered quickly. Our waitress Milly was attentive and pleasant yet left us to enjoy our meal. All in all a nice meal and a convenient solution.

Lovely atmosphere, very welcoming from every worker. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were looked after by Milly, absolute sweetheart! The steak was great, mine and my boyfriends were a bit over cooked as we wanted medium and medium well. But the peppercorn sauce made it the very difference! Triple cooked chips were crispy and lovely! Would 100% recommend coming here, especially the course meal sets too.

Breakfast, Absolutely shocked by the dirty plates and bowl’s. Staff all had the hump like they didn’t want to be there. Chef was rude and didn’t have food ready what led to an everyone waiting for over 20 mins to get food. Never again will I step foot in that place.

Popped in for breakfast, was clean and quiet, my favourite 2 things. Breakfast was tasty.

After a rocky start to our Sunday as we were supposed to go to our usual beefeater the moor mill in radlett, they called to say they had a flood. We then booked the brache as had been there for birthdays ect over the years. When we arrived they were extremely busy, we waited a good few mins to be seated. Once we were we met the most fantastic waitress lauren; she went above and beyond to help us. We were told the roast dinners had ran out and my son who is autistic went into panic and she completely changed it round. She helped adjust his meal and ours to make it one of the best Sundays we have ever experienced. If you really want a good quality meal and exceptional service then head to the brache and hope you are lucky enough to get Lauren as your waitress.

1st visit and it was pleasant, recommended!!

Party of 8 of us which included 4 children. Waited 40 mins for drinks and 1 hour 15 mins for our meals..my son had ordered champagne for the table on arrival when he booked but he had to chase it up., which spoiled the surprise..The food, when it did arrive was luke warm, even though my chicken was burnt black.. so dry that the bbq sauce had disappeared..my granddaughters burger was dry and hard.The roll was still frozen!.. The table had been placed under a very low light which my son hit his head on, causing a cut and lump to appear.we called the manager and her response was to give him a paper napkin to write his details on. No apology for the bad location of seating or for the bad food..All in all would definitely never recommend this branch of the beefeater chain

Love the beefeater breakfasts and today instead of hash browns they had chips ( which we prefer) Staff are always friendly , great place to meet friends at a buffet breakfast.

Went here today with my granddaughter for a birthday meal. The server was lovely, but there was half an hour wait for food. The restaurant wasn't busy, now I know why, I just thought we were a bit early! When the food came, it was not as described or cooked as we had asked for. I sent something back but it took ages to come back, and my husband and granddaughter had almost finished. My husband only ate his as he was really hungry as we had travelled over 120 miles to see our granddaughter. My food that had not been redone, was obviously left sitting, so the chips and peas were hard when it came back. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

I like the Brach Beefeater, it has lovely staff and the menu is fine, i have amended my review again because the last couple of visits the service at the bar has finally improved, I had left in the past having waited ages to be served.... but recently they have had two people behind the bar . Its a good size bar and restaurant, the bar area has TNT sports and a pool table.

The Brache has seriously gone downhill. We were a party of four and the whole thing just took ages even though they were not that busy: the drinks (had to ask for my drink refill twice), the overall service, and the food. The food was barely warm when it came to us, the "salad" on the side was wilted and my poor calamari did not look like calamari. We gave up on dessert after waiting for our waitress, who by the way we heard saying incredibly loudly "I can't deal with people today", to take our order but she never did.

We visited recently and it was absolutely shocking, floors were filthy and the table was even worse. Reached in a pot for sauce and had empty sachet/leaking packets and a previous customers dirty used tissues. The food just topped the whole thing off, was probably one of the worse meals I have ever had. The brache used to be lovely but after an obvious management change I would say it needs closing down. Absolutely appalling which is a shame as it could be a gold mine!

Sadly not the best experience during my visit. The food was dreadful, took 60 min to prepare, the waiter was awful, most of the furniture in the venue needs restoration or replacement. Generally nothing impressive. The only good thing about it is located just a few steps from the premier inn hotel.

Nothing to much trouble when asking for help bringing out daughters birthday cake, and went the extra mile (thank you Milly) adding glitter to the cake and gave her some gifts.

I attended as roadie with a band and was bowled over how well the band were welcomed and looked after. The crowd were very friendly and this place really defied expectations. Food was fine, service was prompt and professional when I attended on new year, toilets were clean and tidy. Definitely an option for a lunchtime or evening get together.

Wasn’t expecting the ritz but this wasn’t a good dinner. Our table was in the main walkway when the place was 90% empty and loads of other tables we could’ve been sat at. We didn’t have a waitress? Had to ask for drinks several times. Ate with my coat on as was so cold. And the food was very very lacklustre. Wouldn’t have known to put car reg in the tablet if my family didn’t tell me. Asked for the birthday cake 3 times I think. Never checked up on. Served non vegan butter with a vegan starter.

We had our Christmas dinner here at 2 pm Christmas day... My family of 6 adults and 5 young people had an excellent time... The food was excellent, and the service was second to none... The young lady (whose name was Alisha) was both personable and professional, and looked after our every need!!!!

We went as a family of 5 for Christmas Day lunch. Food was fabulous and piping hot. Staff were exceptional didn’t get the name of our waitress unfortunately but she was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and will be back in the New Year

Finally we have a chef in the kitchen that can cook a steak. Food was much better than my previous visit about 1 year ago. Just need to pay a bit more attention at the bar.....wait time can be 5-10 minutes depending on time of day.

Georgette was great! We had a big table of 13, and she was able to help us out. We prebooked our menu and had a lactose allergy and she was able to make sure he was served the tight food and was handled the right way and care. We had all our food at the same time and it was all lovely. We will defo be back again GRIFFIN ESU!!
