Booked a table for a birthday meal on Saturday 19th October , 4 of us dinning . A warm welcome on entering the restaurant/bar . Lovely feel to the place . Asked what drinks we would like and then taken to our table . It was my daughter in laws birthday and a little added touch was a birthday ballon on the table . We were left to browse the menu. The menu wasn’t extensive but contained really good meals to choose from. We had starters of deep fried Brie wedges with onion chutney. For mains , winter casserole with herb dumplings ( wow that was good). Scampi with home made chips and lastly grilled salmon and prawns platter . All were beautiful to eat . Desserts , bakewell tart with custard, warm. Hoc brownie with ice cream and raspberry and white chocolate cheese cake with ice cream . The food was very good and quality ingredients. Friendly service , who regularly checked on us and made sure we had what we needed . A lovely , enjoyable evening .

I visit this pub on a regular basis. The food was tasty and delicious. The bar staff are always very friendly as are the floor staff. However, big shout out to Katie who always has a smile on her face, a bubbly personality and goes above and beyond for all customers!

This was our first visit and certainly won’t be our last! We were greeted very warmly at the bar and then shown to our table. Two of us had a pie and another fish and chips and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The pie was perfect! It was full of meat in a tasty pastry. Usually I find the vegetables in a restaurant to be so hit and miss but the carrots I think were the best I’ve had.. they were so deliciously roasted and the mash great too. We also had desserts which were equally brilliant too. The service was super friendly throughout. At times, after we’d had our mains, it was a little slow but there only appeared to be two members of staff who were serving in a busy bar as well as the restaurant. We didn’t mind this either as it gave us chance to chat and also not be too full for dessert! Thank you for a fab meal!

We came here for the first time as a family for fathers day. How disappointing it was. When entering the restaurant there was no smiles/warm welcome, so our first impression did not feel good. The restaurant wasn't busy but had to wait a while for the waitress to come and take our food order. When our food came we wasn't asked by the waitress at all how our food was on both our starters and mains. Mushroom soup was bland, thick and powdery. Chicken fillet, roast potatoes were dry. The waitress didn't ask us if there was anything else we would like. We had to ask for more gravy and salt. We also had to ask for more drinks. They couldn't even get my sons latte right, It came without milk, my son said this wasn't what he asked for and the waitress was rude with her reply so he cancelled it. I made a complaint about the bill because we were still charged for the soups that wasn't eaten [I would like to say a young waiter was polite and sorted out our complaint, but we still had to pay for one of the soups because it was half eaten, we didn't pay for the service charge}. The restaurant is a lovely place in the country side but unfortunately disappointed with the overall service and food. Such a shame.

My husband and I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone at the wheatsheaf for making our day so special. We got married on the 20th September and hired the room upstairs for a big table of 20 and had our wedding meal here. The pub has such a lovely welcoming feel and the staff and food are amazing. Everyone is so accommodating and service fantastic! We definitely will be returning. Highly recommended. Thank you again to you all. Mr & Mrs Marshall

I’ve visited The Royal Oak quite a few times, and it never fails to impress. The food, service, and atmosphere are consistently fabulous. Every visit is brilliant. I brought my family for Sunday lunch today, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Pat and Bini, the owners, are incredibly welcoming, which makes the experience even more special. I absolutely love this pub and can’t recommend it highly enough. A huge thank you to the entire team at the Royal Oak!

Popped in for Sunday lunch and enjoyed a very tasty Veggi Roast. The roast potatoes and gravy were delicious, a little disappointed that the main of the meal was a generous portion of stuffing and not something a little more adventurous though. Lovely staff who were very friendly, the food came out quickly and was presented well. I wouldn’t call it a ‘Gastro pub’ as such, it had more of a tea room feel. Toilets were a little dated and bought back memories of when it was a regular drinking haunt of mine many years ago! All in all nice food and in such a pretty little location, perched next to the church a picturesque Lincolnshire village.

After a loooong days hike in the peaks we got to this charming little venue seeking good food and the comfort of a good bed. We travelled with our two hounds which can sometimes be a challenge but nothing could be further from the truth from the doggie hamper through to the attention, treats and a little something special for the pooches at breakfast. The dinner and breakfast were both great, the staff were ever so friendly and went out of their way for us. The sleep was perfect too, just what the Dr. ordered. We were both very happy with our choice and have already booked to be back next year. Thank you.
