The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Visited each of the 3 nights we were staying at the Hambleton Lakeside Lodges. Good selection of beers - especially my favourite Timothy Taylor Landlord 😋. Very friendly bar staff, happy to talk, and a good sense of humour. Didn't have the chance to sample the food.

Lovely friendly reception by the staff, excellent atmosphere to boot. The Sunday lunch was amazing, belly pork for me,roast beef for my partner, absolutely delicious . Finished off with a beautiful slice of homemade cake.

Overpriced soft drinks. Small food portions. Not good value.

The pub looks brilliant after the new refurb. Staff here are so friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious with a good selection of meals to choose from (gluten free and vegetarian options available). Drinks are reasonably priced and there is a good selection to choose from 🍺 🍷 Really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back :)

Regularly drop in for a couple in the beer garden, lovely views and staff are great and nice to see it thriving again.

We stayed in spring cottage. Wow, lovely property with everything we needed. On arrival we were shown around by a lovely lady who is a credit to your establishment. We had late lunch that was delicious. Staff are friendly and service impeccable. Breakfast was exceptional and we would thoroughly recommend. A lovely stay.

Parker era increíble! Se aseguró de que todos estuviéramos bien considerando que estaba muy ocupado, hicimos brunch sin fondo a las 6 en punto y fue brillante, la comida estaba bien, estaba bien para el precio. Sin embargo, el servicio era brillante y nos dieron múltiples bebidas cuando fue necesario.

Love the new refurbishment. Husband and I go a few times on a Sunday for the Roast carvery. The staff are always polite, professional and helpful. The Sunday Carvery Roast is exceptional, lots of variety with the meats and vegetables….just perfect! Thank you.

Food was nice and service very good. Bit disappointed as no vegan desserts which is a shame as these are readily available in supermarkets etc so shouldn't have been a problem for the chef.

What a brilliant pub food amazingly good no booking which is brill just go in and sit down.we will definitely be going back again

I have always loved the Royal Arms, because of its location, traditional inn vibe & hospitality, but, this week, I felt compelled to leave a positive review to let people know that they also went above & beyond to accommodate our walking group - no easy task when we all arrive in large numbers at the end of a walk. They managed to serve us with lunch & drinks in a friendly & timely manner, making us feel very welcome. Thank you so much to Anoop - believe me those extra customer service touches don't go unnoticed & are really appreciated.

We stayed nearby on holiday. We visit this area about twice a year and always go to the Spanker for a meal. We are never disappointed. Plenty of choice on the menu, good prices and good food. Good atmosphere and service.
