Most probably the best food I’ve ever had. If you are looking for a cosy pub with great food next to an open fire then you have found it. Make sure you book though as it gets very busy. Ask for Jamie and say jack sent you.

Lovely local pub. Susan and Andy are great. The good was amazing, cooked to perfection. The friendliness and service was as good as the food. I would 100% recommend popping in if you’re driving or walking through the village or just book a table and and take an intentional trip.

It's hard to describe just how dire this experience was! We called for Sunday Lunch,selecting a ROAST beef and a ROAST turkey dinner. Firstly, the meat was clearly pre-preoared, the beef was wet, slimy and looked like a microwave ready meal. No evidence of it being roasted, ever, plus the texture was not that of a roasting cut, it was like a very poor quality Silverside! The " seasonal vegetables" included some broccoli - literally one small floret- which had started to break down - half of it was acid yellow in colour. There was one sliced carrot each. The other veg was red cabbage. I'm actually a fan, so I thought it would be crisp and crunchy. No. It was like pink slurry - it would have run through a sieve! The Yorkshire puddings was pale, flacid and swimming in vegetable oil - the centre was so oily it had to be tipped out! " Roast " potatoes? Not really! Two tiny segments cut from half a potato, it appeared to have been boiled then briefly reheated. No crispy bits, no flavour, diabolical. Mash - congealed, lacking butter and cream, clearly frozen and reheated. Gravy - barely there - maybe 2 teaspoons maximum - a good thing as it was basically water with a tiny bit of bouillon powder mixed in. No flavour, far too thin, no vegetable water or meat juices in the stock. Horrible. We ordered on the Scan at table service, thinking that would be quicker. Our drinks arrived after about five minutes. Thirty five minutes later I had to ask where the food was. The meal came missing the horseradish sauce - I had to go to the bar and ask as there were no staff around When asked if everything was ok, I pointed out the shortcomings and the gobsmacked teen-ager went off " to find somebody". The manager who arrived after a further ten minutes asked what was wrong, then immediately offered a refund on my meal. He stated the frozen cabbage was steamed, hence soggy! He said they had been busy so the quality wasn't very good that day. Tbh, I'm shocked that others were eating there, accepting that standard. A typical frozen microwave meal would have been better and a lot cheaper! My year 7 students cook better food Inna one hour lesson! Please, don't waste your time or money. It's a sad situation that Marstons name is next to this offering, it used to be a quality brand. I'm grateful that my meal was refunded but disappointed to have been so badly let down with what is a really simple, basic meal.

Had a lovely Sunday Roast this afternoon, we arrived late due to a delay on our train and the staff were very accommodating! The atmosphere was good and the food was delicious!!

Solíamos visitar con frecuencia para almorzar pero hemos notado los artículos generalmente se han reducido y han subido de precio Dejamos de ir por esa razón , la única razón por la que fuimos ayer fue porque necesitábamos algunas losas. Lástima que solía ser un restaurante decente con buena comida. Desde que el restaurante se ha ampliado, el menú se ha reducido con muchos favoritos eliminados.

Ayer mi esposo y yo nos reunimos con dos amigos para almorzar en el café en Lincoln Pennells. Estaba muy decepcionado en cuanto a la calidad de la comida que se exhibe bajo las lámparas de calor. La comida con salsa se secó, la verdura parecía flácida, la salsa estaba pálida y delgada y todo parecía horrible. Decidimos quedarnos ya que acababa de desaparecer 1 pm, así que nuestro pedido era 1 patata al horno con judías, etc para mi amigo, 2 pedidos de pastel de salchichas con verduras y patatas fritas para los hombres, y mi pedido de patatas fritas con queso, ya que no podía traerme a comer nada de la comida que se ofrece. El pastel, etc., estaba preparado y puesto en mi bandeja y toqué la comida y ni siquiera estaba tibia. Las patatas fritas y el queso eran iguales. Frío. Solicité que ambas comidas se llevaran al microondas antes de pagar. Llegué a nuestra mesa y el otro pastel, etc era exactamente el mismo. Frío. Eso fue devuelto para ser sometido a microondas. Era horrible y que la comida no valía la pena el costo. 49 para un tazón pequeño de patatas fritas con un poco de queso y alrededor de £ 13 para una comida principal muy por debajo de la media. Espantoso. En serio necesitas mirar en ese café y obtener la temperatura ordenada y la calidad de la comida cocinada. Si se lo hubiera dicho a mis amigos, me avergonzaría. No voy a volver.

Kian was a sound guy. I finally got my cheesy garlic bread- god is real (god is Justin). In conclusion, if you go to this restaurant get the cheesy garlic bread. Amen.

I LOVED it here, only one member of staff and she was very helpful. Food was tasty, although large portions. I had a delicious portion of hunters chicken and a sticky toffee pudding. Definitely recommend :)

Called for lunch and received a very warm welcome Ordered sandwiches and fries , came with a side salad, coleslaw and excellent chips. All very fresh and beautifully made Dog friendly too. Would highly recommend and will definitely call again.

We booked a table for 7.30pm 14th February for Valentines Night. I had a confirmation email from a lady called Jeanette, they confirmed they were looking forward to seeing us. We booked a taxi from Oakhm costing £15.50 each way only to find out on our arrival that The Noel at Whitwell was CLOSED!! Thank goodness Berridge Taxi's were so helpful and took us back to Oakham. I received no notification of this closure 😕 I would avoid this place!

Very poor welcome with slow attention to seating even when Cafe is half empty. Waited a while once shown a table but gave up in the end. Not very good service and very unfriendly welcome. Such a shame when the Cathedral is absolutely brilliant. Needs attention to detail as it would be a superb addition to the lovely Cathedral.

Menú de buen tamaño, no es grande pero una buena opción. El entrante de salmón ahumado y gambas era de excelente calidad. El pastel tenía una buena porción de carne tierna y deliciosa salsa. La carta de vinos también era pequeña, pero una buena opción y el vino tinto cayó muy bien. El servicio fue rápido y amable. Muy buena relación calidad-precio. Muy recomendable.

Absolutely stunning food, we loved it so much. Nice to have a couple of different sides to try as a vegetarian. My husband loved the rack of lamb. Best dish was the halomi pakoras with the saracha sauce. Lovely country pub and we cannot wait to come again and maybe bring some friends with us. We travelled from Nottingham to try this place and were not disappointed. Thank you
