Yeoman of England in Northampton

We came to the Yeoman after the funeral of a family member. Anwen looked after us really well and guided us when choosing a suitable buffet for everyone, including those on a gluten free diet. The buffet was just what we wanted, thank you to all those involved.

Sunday roast was absolutely delicious, we had a party of 10. All food came out together and was nice and hot. Staff were very friendly.

Such a lovely place. We got there early enough to beat the crowd. The food was wonderful and the ambiance was really nice. It was obvious the management takes great pride in presentation and making everyone feel welcome. Highly recommend if you visit Northampton area.

Female manager was aggressive and rude. I was belittled and mocked, to the point other customers turned to look. Her customer service was quite frankly appalling, something i have never experienced and wouldn’t wish on anyone. Very disappointed. Will not be returning.

Unfortunately, our Sunday roast tasted like something out of a pre packed defrosted frozen dinner. Turkey was inedible and sponge like, tasted like it was meat that had been bulked up by sitting in water. Pies, however were tasty. Nice service and atmosphere, showing lots of sports with a roomy garden down the back.

Lindsey and the other staff were super friendly. Went with friends and all felt really happy with the service!

The bartender Lindsey was really friendly and is an absolute queen. Would 100% recommend this pub :)

Stopped by to meet a longtime friend and had a very good Sunday Pub lunch. Food, and service was excellent. Will come should we be in the area.

I came in with my grandkids, had a lovely time. Kids menu was fantastic, food was also phenomenal. Lady behind the bar found crayons for them which was a total blessing. Think her name was an. Thank you very much, will definitely come again.

I have just witnessed a young lad of no more than 15/16 been thrown out of the pub because he had a small bottle of tango he’d brought in. He was visibly upset and got angry at the landlady as she was continually shouting at the poor lad, he was clearly embarrassed. I can’t believe what I witnessed I do hope the lad is ok. She shouted you can’t drink that here to which he replied I was just coming in to watch the football with my mates she continued shouting how awful!! Then chucked his friends out for being friends with him too. So bad, it’s really put me off going back to be honest i think it’s bad she can shout at children like that. I tried to find the lads but couldn’t see which way they went. Don’t go to the yeoman if you’re a child it’s not very child friendly.

Well kept, great atmosphere, excellent for gatherings. Quiz night also a blast. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

First visit and was pleaselty surprised how good the food was, and plenty of it. Friendly helpful staff, nice spacious pub with a large carpark. And gardens. Will return soon

This place had excellent food and great service, good speed and a very good experience for our dinner. However there was a person in a pink shirt who while watching the football called an ethnic player a black c*nt. I was with young children and this is disgraceful and we left shortly after. I will make sure to check he is not here before returning. Apart from this it was a great time and the staff and other people in the pub are amazing.

Came in for the Thursday steak deal & wow it was tender, delicious and cooked to perfection! Even had to ask who cooked it - Thank you to Hayley!

Had a few pints and a burger on Wednesday, lovely place to watch sport and catch up with family. Decent food and drinks too! Bar staff always very friendly.

We went their for a Wake plenty of parking well kept grounds friendly helpful staff all home made food would recommend all in a picturesque location just off the A45

Lack of real ale was a disappointment, something that seems to be getting common in green king pubs.

A welcoming village pub whose staff make you feel as you have been there for years even after a couple of visits. Welcoming and professional staff with lovely comfort food to enjoy when you just want to take a break with friends and family. Plenty of parking spaces and best to book as sometimes can get busy when sports or quiz takes place.

First visit to celebrate a family birthday. Easy to book a table online. Staff accommodated change of time on the day due to travel delays. Good range of food on the menu. A pre-order for a large group meant a 40 minute delay which was challenging with a toddler in our group. We made use of the garden to help with this delay. Food was fine. Service and atmosphere was friendly. Large car park. Toilets not so good for changing the toddler.

Excellent fish and chips, nicely cooked

First visit with family for dinner, good choice of food and drinks, good atmosphere. Staff friendly and welcoming, only small fault was the toilets could do with some attention. Enjoyed our visit and would visit again and recommend the pub.

I’m a regular at the yeoman of England and you honestly can’t complain about anything, great garden for the summer, nice smoking area, funny staff who you can have a chat with and a lovely owner, gonna stay my regular for a bit now

Food was alright, staff were very attentive and you didn't have to wait long for food. I had the macaroni cheese and it was ok, it was hot when it came out. Next time I would get the lasagne instead though.

This is my local pub and it’s one of the best pubs I’ve been to! Lovely food and drinks, staff are friendly and accommodating and the prices are top tier! I came here with some friends on New Year’s Eve and it was a blast! There is live music pretty much every week and it just has a very homely feel to it! 🩶🩶

Food was poor quality. In fact, the roast potatoes were inedible. Service was slow. Won't bother going back.

Terrible vibe in the pub. All character and charm of the historic pub has been lost, may as well be in a beefeater. Avoid

I had an excellent 3 course Christmas fayre with work colleagues at the Yeoman of england yesterday. Everyone enjoyed their food, I especially enjoyed the festive burger with Brie and bacon! I look forward to my next outing at the Yeoman as I have a Christmas fayre meal booked with my best friends at the beginning of December.

Very expensive over £5.oo a pint. That was for a pint of fosters.

£6:35 for a pint of Peroni which is absolutely eye watering. I questioned myself, am I in a city or a quiet Northamptonshire village??

Every time I go love the food love the place

By far one of the best pubs for sports, dinner and a great family atmosphere. Food is superb, a great menu selection and if you drink lager or cider the choice is very good. Not much for the bitter drinker sadly. Staff are extremely attentive and friendly and the chef runs his kitchen well. 9.5/10 for our Saturday night there.

Great venue nice food but a bit tight with the chips £3.29 only had about 10 chips and 50p extra for a tiny bit of cheese that’s nearly £4 fo a very small portion of chips . I don’t know any where chips are more expensive.

Found this lovely place while out with my son , we decided to have a meal very reasonable prices , the food was very good and served quite quickly , the staff were so friendly aswell , will definitely be returning , with my son while he is visiting , and very likely be back myself thank you

We had a lovely family gathering to celebrate my Mother in laws 80th birthday. The Yeoman provided with a lovely seating area and produced a delicious buffet spread. All the staff were friendly and fantastic especially Hayley who made sure that everything was just right and made us feel very welcome.

We had a lovely time at the Yeoman of england on Tuesday night. I arranged for me and my work friends to come and play the quiz together. We all had dinner beforehand which was excellent. I had the sirloin and chips which was cooked to perfection! We all tried the woo woo cider as recommended by our new favourite barman Robert and all agreed it’s our new favourite cider! From start to finish we had a excellent night even if we didn’t do very well at the quiz!

Didn't have most of the menu, coke was watery. Nachos had hardly any cheese.

Excellent service from friendly staff. Food is very good quality at much cheaper price then London. Fish is fresh and buttering is crisp. Just come and won't regret.

Excellent pub in the village of Wooton, We stayed at a nearby Travelodge and walked to it. Nice atmosphere, good pub grub. However. they advertised 'Fish Friday' but on this particular Friday had run out of Fish ! Nevertheless we enjoyed what we had. Staff were also pretty good and service was good.

Afternoon tea booked 5 weeks in advance for a 50th birthday celebration. I received 2 confirmation emails, paid my deposit, dropped of balloons for the table, arrived at booked time, table all set and then the bombshell - they didn’t know we’d booked an afternoon tea! Every time I visit this pub there is something they can’t do off the menu, don’t have the glasses to serve the drinks in, not steaks. Very disappointed- they did their best to provide something but quality was poor. Milk for tea was served in a gravy boat 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

We had a 20 + after christening lunch here and can highly recommend it. The buffet was excellent,.and no one went home hungry and some had doggy bags. The private area was excellent and allowed everyone to chat and relax.The staff were super friendly, attentive and a pleasure to deal with.highky recommend the yeoman

I booked for Sunday Lunch, no access from the carpark to the place. First impression “it’s a dump” once inside was full of people in vests and shorts!!! It’s a Sunday? Had difficulty with the staff understanding the I had booked. The 2nd table overlooking the ? Patio? The menu was unappealing, atmosphere unappealing. Didn’t feel welcoming or that clean. We left. Sorry I can’t offer more praise, not the best Green King Restaurant in the area, similar to the Sixfields Tavern.

A nice local drinking hole but the food is terrible! Went in yesterday after a long time and my mum was served raw chicken. When taking the food to the manager she dismissed the fact that is was raw and made out that my mum didn’t know what raw chicken was! Claiming the chicken arrives cooked to the pub from suppliers and they just warm it from the bag. Called the head office and they weren’t much help. As far as green king establishments go, we won’t be frequenting them again.

A table was booked for last bank holiday weekend, but unfortunately that's as far as we would get. We arrived to be told the Internet was down so they would not be serving meals. Nobody could pay by card, understandably with no Internet. But surely they could have taken the food orders down with good old pen and paper and if we could pay by cash, what was the problem Instead presumably the kitchen staff were sat swindling their thumbs.

Probably the best pub in all of northamptonshire. The atmosphere is always incredible thanks to the amazing staff - such as Rob - who do a faultless job of looking after his patrons. The food is fantastic, in summer there is an incredible amount of outdoor seating, the drinks and culture of the pub is exactly what you want from an English pub. Always, it will be the staf that keep you coming back, amazing team led by Rob, they make you feel special and welcomed. I would recommned to everyone to try here.

Took family out for Sunday dinner,and wen it come to the table it looked like it had been warmed up from the day before the roast beef on the menu said served ink it was black and dry as a bone,the lamb shanks were exactly the same bone dry and again like the beef had definatly been warmed up not the sort of food I wud have expected in a green king establishment,even the toilet door didn't have a lock on it not the sort of place I wud recommend or ever visit again I'm sorry about this but if that's the sort of chap u dish up u deserve it
