Had a late lunch in this pub and have to say it was great. The staff were very friendly and the food tasty. We all enjoyed it. I had a small plate scampi and chips and it was delicious and was certainly NOT a small plate. Everyone enjoyed their food. Definitely will be back the next time we are in Buxton.

I'm currently sat watching Notts v Yorks at the venue. The sun is shining, it's an absolutely stunning day. Notts lost the toss and they're batting first. The facilities are wonderful. Bars, cakes, burgers, more seating than a really big seated thing, it's a pleasure to be here. Parked easily and picked up a coffee on our way to our front row seats. Anyway, I better put some sun tan lotion on, it really is a belting day.

A horrible place worst bank holiday weekend we've ever spent on a campsite! No entertainment absolutely nothing! In spite of it being so quiet we still had to wait ages for a drink! The landlord was aggressive & rude right from our arrival & for facilities it was expensive! £30 per night Inc electric but when our electric kept tripping he blamed us! We were disappointed & went to local shop for our food & drink for the rest of our stay! We'd hoped to socialise & make new friends but not there you won't!

Not been for about 1 year. Today went for Sunday lunch. Had a drink in the bar before going to our table. Had the roast beef (pink). It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Couldn’t fault all the accompaniments. Ordered cauliflower cheese as an extra and it was so flavoursome. Me and my husband always rate places with “if it’s better than we cook at home then it’s worth going back” and we will disunity be going back. It was a lovely dinner, I didn’t have room for a pud. All staff lovely and very friendly.

Este restaurante es maravilloso. Tiendo a quedarme en este hotel por negocios cada semana, pero no he revisado, cada comida que he tenido ha sido increíble. El personal siempre atento, amable y servicial. Gracias de nuevo por una comida maravillosa.

Best ever scotch egg and sausage roll at Parsley Hay kiosk from the smashing Sue and Kevin. A warm welcome on a grotty summer day while cycling the Tissington Trail

I have no idea why the TA reviews of this lovely restaurant are so few and far apart! We have eaten there several times over the recent past - each meal has been well cooked and beautifully presented. A really talented Chef. Much of the hotel and both of the restaurants have been massively changed and improved over the past 2 years, at no little cost. The menus are relatively short but with sufficient choice for a very tasty Sunday lunch. Good choice of wines - by the glass too. We had pre-lunch drinks on the sunny terrace; our meal was served in the Gallery restaurant and we ended with coffee in the Library Bar. Go and enjoy!

My wife and I opted to have a meal at The Orangery having seen that they were offering a Valentine’s Dinner. We were also married at the adjoining hotel (over 20 years ago) and so we felt there was a romantic connection to the evening. The table had some red petals and a tall white candle. The room was lit beautifully and the temperature was comfortable. It seemed like a good choice on arrival But then the “restaurant machine” was switched on and any first impressions we had were soon evaporated. Our order, including drinks, was taken and within 5 minutes the starter and wine had arrived. Our empty plates were whisked away and the sorbet mouth cleansers were popped in front of us. They were removed with the upmost efficiency and we were on to the main course. And so on.. in fact, we were seated and proficiently guided through 4 courses in around 1 hour and 10 mins. Our main courses were cooked very well, though they lacked imagination. In contrast, the starters and desserts were prepared well in advance and we felt they had been bought in. Overall, we felt that The Orangery had stage-managed a Valentine’s Dinner. The speed at which we were whisked through sapped any sense of romanticism and the food was better than average. We may return to sample what the chef could offer on a non-themed evening, but we will consider all our other options first.

We used to use this chippy every Friday as a treat, and the food was great. We then had some issues with food being tasteless, so we stopped going. We have been away for over a year but gave it a go again. Warm at best, fish and pea mix... no taste, and the peas were like stones. Fish was expensive and mushy. It went in the bin, and that's our last visit

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Riverside Inn! We called on the same day to book a table for four, and when we needed to add two more at the last minute, they accommodated us with ease. The setting is lovely, and while they had prepared a cozy spot for us inside, they also offered the option to sit outside, which was a nice touch. The service was incredibly quick and helpful, catering to all our requests without a hitch. Our drinks were served promptly, and the prices were very reasonable. The food was exceptional—high quality with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. The portions were very generous, and they even provided doggy bags for our leftovers, which our dogs at home greatly appreciated! A special mention to Rhiannon and Jay, the children of the managers, who provided such friendly and attentive service. The views from the inn are lovely, creating a relaxing atmosphere that complements the excellent food and service. The only minor note is that the toilets are a bit of a walk, but they are on the same floor, so it's not too inconvenient. Plus, there's parking available right outside, which is always a bonus. Overall, the Riverside Inn offers a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, clean and tidy surroundings, and high-quality food. We had a great experience and are already looking forward to our next visit!
