Stayed locally for a holiday and went for a meal and drinks on our last night in the area. Friendliest pub - Lisa and Daz make you feel very at home. We both had the Chilli - home made and amazing selection of sides included - rice, garlic bread, nachos with cheese sour cream and jalapenos. Real fire in the bar so stayed in there to eat. As someone else said a bit like going to your favourite Aunties. The pub also has a steak grill and would love to go back and try this out too. The meals are very reasonable in price - but the fact it is all good home cooking makes it special. Drinks pretty much standard pub prices. It is the service that sets them apart from the average.

Really lovely pub I’m proud to call my local. Good uncomplicated food, nice people and atmosphere, and we’ll be going back for more soon. We even enjoyed a bottle of Shiraz on the house!

I think you would be hard pressed to find a friendlier welcome than that which we received at the Riverside Inn last weekend. We parked our campervan overnight in the large carpark by the cycle path after finding it on searchforsites. We went in the pub for something to eat at 7pm only to be told that the kitchen finished serving at 6. Lisa, the landlady, overheard our conversation about being parked up for the night and immediately offered to cook us something. We both had steak and ale pie, chips and peas followed by sticky toffee pudding. Both of which were fantastic. Proper pies, stuffed full of meat, proper home made chips and perfect toffee pudding. What a treat. Prior top leaving for the night, Lisa offered to cook us breakfast the next morning and we jumped at the chance. So at 9 the next morning we had perfect full English breakfasts to set us up for the days cycling. It was like being at your aunties. We could have stopped and chatted all day but we had to get off (with some cakes to keep us going) and on our bikes. Lisa and Daz were perfect hosts and we would recommend the Riverside Inn without reservation.

Found a hidden gem while on a bike ride down the railway cycle track from Woodhall! We was staying in Woodhall for the weekend and it’s a lovely ride down the cycle track. Stopped off and straight away got greeted by the staff, who were very polite and couldn’t do enough for us. We ordered the riverside ploughman’s and a beetroot and feta salad. Beautiful!! Beautifully presented home baked cakes were also on offer. Huge selection of gins and regularly changed cask ales. Highly recommend to anyone that may be in the area.

4 of us came here for Lunch on Thursday 1st July and what a disappointment, why did we ignore the slating review made by someone else? On arrival the “chef” and 2 other staff were sat fagging it, on full view to arriving customers, at the side door (should have turned around then)! The service was a complete joke, we were the only ones ordering but 30 mins after we ordered were informed there was no ham for the sandwich and ploughman’s we ordered! They offered Chicken as an alternative - big mistake! Another 35 mins before the food arrived and the brown bread we’d ordered came as granary, which one of our party can not tolerate! Also the chicken was out of a packet, the stuff that tastes artificial with the texture of something like mush! When informed at point of payment we were told “you should have mentioned it to the waiter” We did!!!How this place stays in business is beyond me and how they cope with more than 1 group at a time is a mystery - expect to eat crap food and wait forever for it! And as the previous “moaner” pointed out the toilets are definitely “minging”Overall, 2nd worse experience in nearly 3O yrs of pub dining, you’ve been warned!

We stayed in our camper overnight in the pub car park and experienced the best customer service we have ever had. On arrival, the landlady gave us her card in case we needed anything and said if we needed blankets or hot water bottles then she could provide them. Three real ales on, served with a smile and the offer of breakfast was too kind to refuse. Next day and we ate breakfast in the gazebo. I didn’t know mushrooms on toast could taste that good! My husbands breakfast cob was filled with bacon and sausage. Again friendly service, even giving my little one a chocolate bar for the journey (after checking with me first). First class work Lisa, we will be back.

It's the first time I've been to this pub for a few years and I was pleasantly surprised. The new owners took over in November 2019 and having being tipped off by our neighbours when they re-opened after lockdown it looks like they are doing a great job. It's in a cracking location right by the River Witham on the Water Rail Way cycle / walking path (Sustrans Route 1) between Woodhall Spa and Lincoln. We had a couple of drinks and a late lunch around 3.30 PM. The beer (Geen King IPA) was excellent. As we'd cycled there and were really hungry we ordered a couple of sharing platters thinking we could manage one each. Blimey. Be warned......they were huge portions! We made it through both, but only just. Nachos were great as were the cheesy chips with mushrooms. They've really though about how to cater for walkers and cyclists as they do food from 10.00 AM (breakfast end at 12.00) through until 9.00 PM during the Summer and have a lovely selection of cakes too for afternoon tea / snack. If you are cycling or walking along this section of Sustrans Route 1 this is a must stop over! Really impressed! I wish them well.

Stayed the night using Britstops. We got there late and had a drink. Really naturally friendly family. Went off to sleep and returned the next morning for coffee at 10. Again, lovely genuinely friendly people. Nothing seemed too much bother. Peaceful park up by river, nice little walk too. Lovely location, will visit again if we're passing.

Ok. Lovely outside garden which was beautiful in the afternoon sun.Seemed to be a more limited menu than they show online, but I suppose that’s to be expected. Family run. Everyone seemed friendly enough.Food fair at best. Steak baguette was full of gristle, but the dog enjoyed those bits. Wasn’t cooked the way it was requested. Nacho sharer was a decent enough size, but as with most places, they only put cheese on top, where as it should be layered with the nacho chips.£15 for that and 2 soft drinks seemed fair too.

I would just like to say what a Wonderful Place the Riverside Inn is and reply to the Previous Comment. The Toilets are lovely and Clean so I don’t know we’re this persons comments are coming from, also the Bar Staff don’t Drink Behind the Bar at any time as it is not Permitted so that is Very Untrue, The Riverside Inn is a Lovely Clean Pub. As for the Swearing (In The Bar Area) it is a Bar what do you Expect?? The locals are allowed to speak as they choose it is a Pub After all, I’ve been to the Riverside Inn many times and it is a Great Place to Eat and Drink, And the Locals are Friendly and Welcoming People. As for the (Shameless) Comment you Obviously have Watched this Programme so your Obviously Used to the Swearing so that’s a Bit Hypocritical don’t you think?? Anyway as I was Saying The Riverside Inn is a Lovely Friendly, and CLEAN Pub. We will Definitely Be Back. See you Soon.

I often go canoeing on various stretches of the River Witham, one fave stretch being Bardney to Tattershall Bridge. This pub is ideally placed for a quick pint en route, and we've found them friendly and very helpful -- when a friend got a puncture in his inflatable kayak and we had to stop at their moorings to assess the situation, we found puncture repair kits on sale at £1.50 in the pub, which saved his bacon! Beer and food are good, and they're open when the one on the other bank never seems to be. Lovely garden to sit in while drying off!
