We used to use this chippy every Friday as a treat, and the food was great. We then had some issues with food being tasteless, so we stopped going. We have been away for over a year but gave it a go again. Warm at best,fish and pea mix... no taste, and the peas were like stones. Fish was expensive and mushy. It went in the bin, and that's our last visit

It doesn’t matter what you have or when you have it , the food is always great , the staff are friendly but you have to be prepared to wait at busy times ( worth it though)

Been going to this chippy since I can remember and doesn’t normally fail to deliver however, just picked up chicken kebab meat, chips and salad for 2. The chips were old and cold and the meat was lukewarm. Really disappointing but will probably return. I know it is now a money grabbing Zanfish franchise but please keep the focus and the standard that you have provided over all these years. Fresh is key! Thanks, Dean from Stenson Fields

Encantador y delicioso pollo tikka suave no secos como en otros lugares. Carne sabrosa y no grasienta doner. Patatas fritas crujientes ensalada fresca estupenda con todos los bits mmmmmm! fraile crujientes ! Salsa de curry suave no me puedo quejar genial! !

Stenson chippy nunca deja de entregar chips de alta calidad, no importa lo ocupados o son tranquilas. Excelente relación calidad-precio.

Portion sizes used to be bigger, but still I was never able to eat a large Chips to myself! It does get really busy from opening to around 8pm - but this is a measure of the popularity of the place. Usually just have chips, or sometimes saveloy and chips. Always had a very good and fresh portion of chips - worth the wait!

The Chips from here are great albeit that prices have gone up. if you have capacity, sit in the restaurant. if you go on a friday evening, expect to stand in a long cue.

This used to be a good value for money chip shop but the prices have gone up and the portion size gone down! People say it is the best fish that they have tasted.. Well what a joke.. They obviously haven't been to the east coast and eaten the fresh fish caught daily. Zan fish need to get fresher fish (not frozen like they have) and stop being so greedy.

Beautifully cooked fish. Always huge portions. A large fish and chips serves a family of three easily or four if you've smaller appetites.One of a local Zan Fish chain. All just as reliable

The fish is great - the shop is bright and clean. However, I really wish I could get a smaller portion of chips. I want a portion similar to what I would get in a restaurant and I would expect to pay about 90pence. The chip portion is okay if you can share them - but when I go it is usually just for myself and I love the haddock - but the portion of chips either defeats me - or I end up throwing some away.

Getting too exspensive to go to a chip shop these days with prices going up and portion sizes getting smaller. Staff are nice here but price will stop people going as i noticed when it should of been busy it was empty. Shame most chip shops are now exspensive to visit.

I am lucky enough to be able to call this my local chippy, as it is within easy walking distance from where I live. It is without doubt the best fish & chip shop I have ever been to, & at 73 years of age I have visited quite a few !!! No matter what you decide to eat, the food served here is always cooked to perfection with extremely generous portions. The staff are polite & helpful & I have never been disappointed. It really is Simply the Best !!!!

Always a good chippy for when you can't be bothered to cook. Cheap enough and a good variety of food.

Poor service. .. food not to sure as walked out... staff should be more willing to take my money perhaps they are to busy to care..

Best chips, fish, kebab meat you name it its all brilliant. Never had any bad food from here ever and I have eaten here for years.

Whenever we have fish & chips from this shop we are never disappointed. Both the fish and the chips are superbly cooked, the service is excellent and the portions are generous. Highly recommended

Most Fridays is chippy tea. The food here is always piping hot and cooked to perfection , 1 bag of chips does 4 of us because of the very generous portions . Would recommend.

Can't beat a classic fish and chips. If you're in Derby then this place is a quick and easy bite which goes down a treat. Definitely recommend!

We often visit my Mum-in-Law and get F&Cs from here. She has been getting food from here for decades and it is obvious why. Good speedy service and crisp fish batter with huge chip portions make this super value. I have tried the Kebabs too and they are excellent too.

Can rely on the fish and chips and other eats being hot and fresh as there is always a queue, so that says it all.

Best fish and chips in town and staff deliver a super fast service! Extremely clean. I would highly recommend this place.

When visiting Derby, we were brought here to try Fish & Chips. We ordered one a piece, thinking they'd be regular portions. We were pleasantly surprised. The Fish & Chips are gigantic. 2 of us could have shared one.The fish is super fresh and delicate and the batter is perfect - not too oily and not to dry. It's served in its traditional newspaper which just adds to the experience.We had the mushy peas and curry sauce as well, which made this an even more authentic experience. If I was still in Derby, I'd be eating Fish & Chips from Stensons all the time

Have been buying chips from here for a very long time now, and now from Zan Fish in Heatherton, Derby too. Food is always fantastic, service excellent and best of all their portion sizes are beyond any chippy I know - Thumbs up all the way

Stenson FB now ZAN Fish is hands down the best ever. I only eat fisn n chips once every 2 years when I visit the UK & have never had a bad meal here.

The food (especially their fish) is always first class and fresh.Always piping hot and the staff nice.Very good Fish and Chips,which is just what you want for the "British Grub" we English like....Extremely filling too....good portions.

Since changing to Zan fish the portion sizes have gone down firstly smaller trays and now smaller card board boxes, its a shame because you use to get a good portion but not any more same applies to the Allenton shop also.So smaller portions bigger prices and its not just me that said this other customer have said the same no wonder there are fewer customers.

well above quality chip shop with plenty of awards to show for it .the staff are always really helpful and the place is always clean and tidy . portions will feed the hungriest of people.
