I don’t normally do reviews but I feel absolutely ripped of tonight with my meal. I had a giant Yorkshire pudding which I order beef which they ran out of so was left with sausage or chicken, I chose the sausage. When it came it was no bigger than a side plate with 2 sausages a couple of spoonfuls of bland mash potatoes and peas with weak gravy, for £16.75. My partner had a beef and ale pie and the pastry was raw still.

Visited today with 4 children (5, 8, 8 & 10). The gentleman who welcomed us in was more than happy to let us spread across 2 smaller tables. He was so accommodating of the children, providing half portions of food & speaking to them directly rather than through me. The food was lovely and promptly delivered. Their hot chocolates were just what we'd be seeking (cream & marshmallows) And all at a reasonable price, especially for the location. I'll certainly be visiting again 😊

Really lovely little cafe. The menu was very varied with plenty for the veggies and meat eaters among us. The service was great, the waitress was very chatty and spoilt our pup with a sausage. Food was delicious and all for a reasonable price. The canal side location is lovely too.

The food was dreadful and expensive. Can’t say it any plainer. Schnitzel was burnt and poorly presented. Pasted was soggy. The very worst was the waffles which had been microwaved and were solid! Just the two us for a birthday meal with one drink each and it cost £91!

Booked The orangery restaurant to celebrate my birthday although the mixed reviews left me wondering if I might be disappointed. My experience was that of an elegant evening in opulent surroundings with good service. We were greeted warmly and seated at table 16 with lovely vistas across the terrace and extensive grounds. Service was efficient and non-invasive. We chose carrot soup for my hubbie and Thai fishcakes for me served wifh warmed breads and butter as our starters. Our mains choices were sirloin steak for my hubbie and pork tenderloin for me -both beautifully cooked and full of flavour. We ordered a lemon and lime, a 175ml glass of Shiraz for my hubbie and a gin and soda for me. We were quite full by then, so didn't want a pudding but ordered a coffee from Keira at the restaurant bar which was served in the lounge. We asked if there was any light accompaniment with the coffee and Keira said normally no but she would try to source something. She came up trumps with some yummy petit fours. We had a second round of coffees again served by Keira. I finished off my meal with a Bailey's. Keira had a very pleasant personality and was definitely a people person. She looked after us royally and made our after dinner experience a very pleasant one. The grounds are extensive with lovely vistas and I enjoyed watching dusk descending from the terrace area. I must mention the lavatories which are always a marker for an establishment's hygiene and general standards and they were super clean and well-maintained. There was plenty of parking with an overspill car park and the lounge area was comfortably furnished again with lovely views across the terrace. A little, low-level background music would be nice in the lounge( in the evening only though.) One slight negative was the lounge was on the chilly side and needed the fire to be lit as I needed to keep my jacket on. All-in-all, an elegant evening wifh tasty food and not expensive.Total cost: £115 and well worth it in my book.I had a lovely, memorable birthday meal.So thank you to the team, the kitchens and especially Keira from two very happy bunnies. We will return.

Lovely night out at Biggin Hall for a family birthday. Seated in the conservatory area which was very pleasant with a good ambience. Staff friendly and professional and food of good standard. Well worth a visit and will be back !

Maybe we came at a bad time. Place was empty at 6 pm. The fish was cooked from frozen and was not great. My son had the big breakfast and sausages looked a bit cheap. I had huntsman chicken which was ok but not great. Chairs were wooden and uncomfortable. Suggest they invest in cushions at least, maybe some soft music. Sorry.

Great dinner. Extensive range of food choices and specials. Good range of ales and ciders on tap. The food was great quality and good value for money. Large portions. I had mussels which were fab 😋 and the chips are fantastic! We sat indoors, very dog friendly, but they also have a good outdoor seating area.
