This cafe provided the food for the buffet for a family members 60th wedding anniversary. The choice and qty of products was fantastic. We would like to say a huge thank you so many compliments with lots left over.

I called in just before Christmas in search of some Turkish Delight. Yes they did have some but at a price that was a tad on the expensive side. When I said that it a bit steep, I was offered it at a good discount as "it is Christmas Eve". The quality was excellent and I will make a point of revisiting this place when I'm next in Melbourne

Pub muy agradable. Gran ambiente. Fuimos con unos amigos y conocí a algunos amigos más para mi cumpleaños. Los dueños son gay pero muy amable y te hacen sentir bienvenido. Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que vaya allí para beber.

Great atmosphere ! Family Halloween party, our grandkids thoroughly enjoyed it and so much effort was made by Adam and Ellen to make us all feel welcome. The pub decorations were fantastic and is was great to see so many people there . A packed pub is what we love to see in the village as it gives a place to socialise and meet up.

Update - the restaurant after requesting we take down the review and offered us a voucher which has never turned up - much like their quality. The worst restaurant experience ever! We arrived at 7pm with a barrage of items not on the menu or swapped. The starters arrived and were sent back as the bread looked like it was cut by a 6 year old with a dollop of margarine. The main course, or what was left in the fridge, arrived late after repeated requests to chase and came in drips and drabs. The fish was dry as a bone and sent back. The burger and chips went back twice, first chips were cold, then they served me the bottom of the frying basket and the burger had seen better days. The pasta and chicken arrived after we finished our mains and looked like slop and missing the chicken. It was now 10pm. We asked for the manager but she was clearly visiting each table to deal with complaints. Turns out the chef had not turned up and no plate washers in the kitchen. The experience was a disaster and the worst or group had experienced. We will not be going back and the bill was cancelled. The waitresses Megan and Georgia were fantastic but let down by the owners. They should be ashamed of themselves for letting this place open.

Visited as a family of 7 for a pre Christmas get together. Booked 7 weeks in advance for 18.00hrs on a Sunday and was asked to choose between Carvery and festive menu. We all chose carvery. Upon arrival we sat down and waited a good 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken. In this time we noticed the carvery being packed up. We enquired and were told they had stopped serving!!! Despite our booking. What I assumed was the manager was very apologetic but nothing more. Also there were no pizzas and another item off the menu was sold out. We were brought our drinks and eventually our food order was taken. Food was slow to arrive despite it not being busy and the food was not homemade. The braised beef was not braised beef at all, it did not fall apart and looked and tasted like leftovers from the carvery!!! The food was average at best. When our drinks glasses were empty it took an age to ask if we wanted a refill. After we finished our mains almost 90 minutes after walking in, we advised staff that we would like dessert but only had half an hour before two of our party had to leave. By this time we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Our desserts took a further 20 minutes to arrive. The staff were alright but service was painfully slow. Despite the problems we were not offered any complimentary drinks or anything to smooth over the terrible start. Having worked in customer service for many years this was not a good experience and none of our party would return, and we would strongly advise against anyone else visiting this place.

Thomas has really improved the Mill House. We can see this after visiting since he has been managing this venue. It is worth pointing out that the food has vastly improved too. We last visited on Monday 28th October to watch the "Elvis" tribute. What a great and fun afternoon. The entertainer was really good ! Well done Thomas, keep up the good work!

I absolutely need to write a glowing review for Vicky at the Stanhope Arms! We needed support with upcoming meetings and catering. Vicky could not be more helpful, professional and proficient, completely meeting all of our needs as well as proactively offering solutions to our issues. As we use numerous locations nationwide for meetings, training sessions, and one-on-ones, we recognize the importance of having a supportive and efficient venue. Vicky ensured that we had everything necessary, alleviating any stress from the situation. Thank you, Vicky and the team, for your outstanding service. You have truly restored my faith in the value of excellent support.

Had to just make this post. Was greeted my the most two loveliest bar staff ever, Charlotte & Hannah I believe they were called. Had to just share this pint of Guinness and black I was served. You ladies give Banksy a run for his money. Highly delightful evening. Will definitely be calling time again x

We visited this pub two nights in a row when staying in Shardlow on our narrowboat. We met up with friends for drinks one night and a meal on the second night. We were pleased with the choice of ales and the three dogs we had between us were made welcome, plenty of room for them to lie down. The food was nice and it was a pleasant pub to spend time in. Two things though spoilt the experience, one was that the toilets on the second night smelt horrendous, as if someone had been seriously ill in there, I was heaving and couldn’t stay a second longer to even wash my hands (I noticed a pump-out lorry came the day after so maybe their septic tank was full). The other thing was that their website says they shut at 11 on a Monday and yet we were ‘encouraged to leave’ at 10 and the member of staff on duty said he ‘usually likes to leave at 9.30 on a Monday’. Please update your website with the current times, it is really frustrating when pub opening times aren’t up to date, it seems to be a regular occurrence everywhere we go!
