The best restaurants serving British food in Rutland East Midlands

Came across this lovely place whilst out for a winter walk in Barrowden. Great coffee and toasted tea cakes. The cakes looked delicious too. The range of goods to buy was excellent - came away with cards, food and a magazine! Friendly staff ( mostly volunteers) added to our enjoyment. Highly recommended and well worth supporting.

A really warm welcome and a nice warm fire. Lovely vibe would 100% go back.

Great lunch and service as usual but one thing I would like to mention is the decor could do with some uplifting and also the menu could also do with some modification to bring it it into the 21st century, as, we have been going here for a number of years now and the menu it seems always seems to be the same so I think it’s now time to sit down and adjust various things not only the menu but also the decor as well as it reminds me of going to see your elderly aunt house, but we did enjoy our lunch but think a revamp is in order

Went in for lunch, very good value, also great quality of food

My wife and I with our dog came to see how the new owners were doing and were so glad we did! We were well looked after even though it was the first night of food on the menu, if we hadn’t been told we would never have known you guys were great! The starters were great the mains were great in fact the only complaint would be there were too many peas! So many I didn’t have room for pudding! So well done guys, we look forward to seeing you again and wish you well in your new adventure!

Found this place by accident and had a delicious lunch with a huge pot of tea, the food and service were both excellent. It’s a shame we are from Norwich and unlikely to visit Oakham again soon

Good dining pub that also seems popular with the locals for a drink. Visited on a wet midweek evening but the place was quite busy with a nice ambience. Service was very good - lady behind the bar happy to let me sample the real ales and the young waitress was efficient and friendly, even though she was new to the job. Had steak pie with mash and veg - pie very good, with plenty gravy, although veg could have been more generous and a little better.

What a hidden gem! Fantastic food and amazing service! Staff were really friendly and the food was good pub food dive superbly. Rare to find a pub that does simple food really well.

What a lovely dog friendly cafe/restaurant. The food was great and the staff just so friendly. Two of us had the small breakfast and said it was very tasty with good quality ingredients. I had the sausage cibatta which was excellent and I just loved the seasoning in the sausage. Our Pups enjoyed the water and treats provided. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. The whole place has a lovely friendly warm feel to it. We can also recommend the mulled wine and hot apple and cinnamon drink. We will definetly be returning. Thank you to all at Radish.

Excellent food at very reasonable prices, this is my 3rd visit and can honestly say there will be many more. Very good portion sizes cooked to perfection, friendly staff. Can highly recommend this eatery.

Food generally isn't bad. Sandwiches are OK. Soggy breakfast baguettes are a failure tho. But, the real issue is the service. I even tested it out by tipping. You only get friendly service at the end once they got a tip (Apart from a black woman, she was very sweet throughout service a few times) Honestly...I find this place overrated and unfortunately disheartening, I have really tried, but...U are all rude. If you don't want to work there then leave.

Small menu but everything we had was very very good. And reasonably priced. And a lovely spot looking over the lawn. What’s not to like

Could not be a prettier location. Restaurant bit too quiet not sure why. Food excellent service bit slow. Would be pleasant evening out with friends as not noisy or overpowering music.
