Fabulous staff who second guessed what I wanted. Good coffee served really hot. The sausage sandwich had very tasty sausage and was cooked fresh. The toasted tea cake was perfect. Hiden away from the main drag but well worth searching out. Sadly for the owners it was really quiet which probably explains the limited opening hours. We loved it!

Found this location as a mid-point to meet up with my friend from Uni days. Great service from the start. Welcomed by waitress and cleaned our table and allowed us time to settle in and order. Not rushed, very relaxed atmosphere. Very clean and cosy. The service was great and they made you feel very welcome, not a customer to be fed and pushed out the door, but you were there to enjoy time relaxing and, in our case, catch up over a meal. They even added an item when my friend advised he was not a fan of baked beans. That was very kind of them to do that. We have found a great place to meet up. Definitely return and use this as our meet up point. Thank you to all. Keep up the great work. Tony and David

The first time that I have been here but it will be a regular stop now for lunch with Dad. Haven’t had a better (or hotter!) oat milk cappuccino. I had one of the small meals, fish fingers chips and beans. Perfectly cooked and very good value for £5.50. Dad enjoyed his fish cake chips and salad but couldn’t finish it all. Lovely cafe - clean warm and welcoming on a very cold day. Friendly, prompt service.

On a family outing we wanted an easy access and simple place to catch a drink and perhaps spoil ourselves a with cake, and that what we got. This is a no nonsense family run cafe with simple but tasty and fresh food and drinks, what more could you want! Its kept clean and tidy and has easy access to a disabled toilet, which again was clean and tidy. The family who run the coffee house were very friendly, attentive and efficient. We went for drinks all round and indulged in some cake as well and believe it was all good value for the money. If we are ever in Oakham again we will make sure we visit again.

I had an appointment in Oakham at 1230 and hadn’t thought about lunch. Cutting through Crown Walk I was about to walk past this place but decided to give it a try. It felt very Covid safe, transparent partitions still between the table, sanitiser, masks etc. I settled on shepherds pie and tea. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the serve was quick and efficient. I hadn’t read the menu properly and got chips and salad with the pie, pleasant surprise and really tasty.I really enjoyed the meal, it was good value for money a d I’d go again when I’m passing that way

When visiting Oakham we generally stop for coffee. Although most coffee shops have been reasonable none have been way above average. For a change we tried the Rutland Coffee House and were impressed by all aspects of it. Service was excellent, quick with polite staff. The menu was pretty good for morning coffee / cake and a few extra dishes for lunch etc. In addition the price was very reasonable. I ordered a bacon roll which came exactly as I wanted it done. The coffee was great too.

Whenever I'm in the area I always stop by here. It is in an arcade just off the high street and I chill out, read the paper and tuck into the best breakfast this side of the Atlantic while watching the world go by. The cheesy chips are good too, and the coffee is just perfect - the best I can remember having. If you want something not on the menu, just ask. The chef makes a great veggie omlette.
