Food generally isn't bad. Sandwiches are OK. Soggy breakfast baguettes are a failure tho. But, the real issue is the service. I even tested it out by tipping. You only get friendly service at the end once they got a tip (Apart from a black woman, she was very sweet throughout service a few times) Honestly...I find this place overrated and unfortunately disheartening, I have really tried, but...U are all rude. If you don't want to work there then leave.

Andrea was so helpful with our slightly odd request for individual afternoon tea boxes for a wedding picnic at Rutland water. She created beautiful boxes catering to different dietary needs which all of my guests thoroughly enjoyed! Very much recommend for any catering needs. Thank you so much!

We ordered a buffet for our staff Christmas party and asked that this catered for a vegetarian and a coeliac. Disappointingly the food provided for the coeliac was a small plastic container of basic salad and for the vegetarian a small plate of mini quiches and pastry rolls, vastly different from the food provided for the other guests. We phoned Hoagies on the day and explained we were not happy, but received no explanation or apology. When I took the serving dishes back into the shop, I tried to explain again why we were not happy with the food they had provided for the coeliac and vegetarian. She explained that it was her fault as she had missed it in the diary as she couldn’t read her own writing and they cobbled something together at the last minute, had she noticed the error earlier there would have been more choice. I was told that I had no reason to complain because they had prepared a buffet for 9 but had not charged us for the salad. Unfortunately, this still left two of the guests with a very limited choice for their lunch. Once again, I was not offered any apology - very poor customer service.

Love the sandwiches but my favourite is the plain flapjack - delicious. Always a queue out of the door

We were visiting the area looking for somewhere to get a bite to eat. We walked by Hoagies and noticed the number of people in a queue. After scoping out the other options we came back to Hoagies and ordered a couple of panni's. This was the best decision we made on the day! We will certainly be back the next time we are in the area!

I have had many sandwiches, baguettes and jacket potatoes from Hoagies. It's always fast efficient service from friendly members of staff. More often than not this little take away sandwich shop is packed with customers, even queuing out of the door, simply because of the great food on offer. So many filling combinations, either pick off the board or choose your own. Fresh ingredients daily combined with tasty sausage rolls from the butcher next door plus homemade cakes. A firm favourite of mine and obviously I will be back again soon.

We love this little place! Its fair to say we are regulars so obviously I'm going to write a very positive review but that's because it's brilliant in there. The staff are always so happy and friendly and the service is exemplary, the hardest thing is to choose what to have! The best sandwich shop for miles around!

This is my favourite lunch haunt during the week as they are quick, friendly and reasonably priced. With the cold weather their hot roast sandwiches and jacket potatoes are a winner and they are happy to put together any fillings you want. They even reserve their jackets if you ask them to.

Love this place. Great prices, massive fillings and the best scotch eggs around! The girls are always very polite and I will continue to use it for as long as it's there.

Ordered a bacon and brie panini with cranberry sauce, two small pieces of brie and not even a full rasher of bacon.

Always busy, great sandwich shop, definitely the best in Oakham. Many options for fillings including salads and jacket potatoes. They also have homemade cakes. Always fresh and tasty.

Popped in whilst visiting Oakham for work on the recommendation of a colleague and wasn't disappointed. For well under £3 I was served with a roast pork, apple sauce and stuffing roll and a can of lilt with added crackling. (In the roll...not the lilt). The pork was cooked perfectly and the crackling gave up just enough resistance without breaking your teeth on it. All in all, a great place to grab a bite to eat on the go. Unfortunately nowhere to sit down and eat at Hoagies but there are some benches across the road that will do the job. Will certainly return when I'm next in Oakham.

Excellent sandwiches with enormous portions at very cheap prices indeed. Tried the hot beef roll and was enough for me and the dog!

I often get my lunch from here: Generous fillings, and many options of both fillings and bread at a great price.

Small menu but everything we had was very very good. And reasonably priced. And a lovely spot looking over the lawn. What’s not to like
