Excellent food and service, I had the beef pie the meat was tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly, will be going back again

The wife and I just loved it. First and foremost, it specialises in pies, so don't go if you have a different agenda or you'll just be disappointed. It is what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything but. If you venture in with that mindset you'll be massively rewarded. Good food, polite staff, great service. Exceeded all our expectations and would definitely go again.

Un lugar fantástico. Comida excepcional. Tan triste que no hay suficiente personal para llenar todo su potencial. El personal llevó al extremo. Necesito más personal.

Beautiful place but quite expensive

He tratado de dar a este lugar el beneficio de la duda manteniendo una crítica ya que solía ser mi chippy favorito. ¡Pero en las últimas tres ocasiones he llegado a casa para encontrar la comida equivocada, la comida poco cocinada y ahora apenas comida! Esta noche pedí unas patatas fritas medianas y recibí este pobre esfuerzo. Simplemente siente que claramente ya no queda ningún cuidado o estándar en el lugar, lo que es una pena. No volveré de nuevo.

Compartimos una baguette que era preciosa y un bollo de fruta con mermelada y crema era para morirse. Definitivamente mañana volveré por más bollos si no hay nada más. Todo es muy tentador.

Amazing food. I was very very pleased with my visit. I was served by a woman called Emma with blonde shoulder length hair and glasses. She was so lovely and welcoming! Gave me exactly what I wanted unlike last time when I was served by Sharon who I found to be quite rude. There was a good selection of food that was reasonably priced. I’m very happy with this service. Thank you. Also love your cream cake!

On arrival you find a few dining tables between the reception and some sofas. Not very inspiring at all. It looks more like a hotel lobby than a restaurant, which in fact is what it is, the hotel lobby. Even if apparently they were fully booked, we were the only people seated to eat. Visibly the staff were more interested in talking between themselves than serving anyone. As I said we were the only occupied table, so having waited for some service I had to go myself to get the menu from the two girls chatting behind the bar. Having got the 'cocktails menu' and took some time to choose, we gave our order (after going to find someone to give it to) and she looked at us and said 'we don't do cocktails ! and then just walked away !, obviously it was beyond her intellectual capacities to tell us that when she gave us the drinks menu. Finally the food arrived - which was a surprise because the food was 'good', it would seem that the chef, who seems to be the only person thats focused on any remote sense of quality. Bravo to the chef ! very well presented and delicious. Conclusion, the chef is probably long gone by now i imagine (to work in a real restaurant, where he belongs), but even if he is still there, there is zero atmosphere and zero service.

Great pub, lovely staff, fantastic position, favourite pub in Lincoln. Food is very well priced & always good, landlord seems to keep a keen eye on the place which i really appreciate. Only down side... it's a tough walk up that hill!

Richard was brilliant, so polite and attentive, did everything with a smile. The service was quick also, turnaround for drinks and food was better than expected on a Saturday afternoon. We ate from the lunch menu so didn’t get to have the whole experience but overall a great place to go!

Absolutely incredible place to stay. Spent 2 nights in the best room I've ever seen! Very friendly and helpful reception.

La cafetería es una zona luminosa encantadora y está bien. El personal era muy servicial y amable. Una cosa que realmente arruina mis experiencias alimenticias es el ruido del arrastre constante de sillas de debajo de las mesas. No cuesta mucho para unos pocos sticks en buffers. Dudo que mi reseña y sugerencia se resuelvan, pero vale la pena intentarlo.

La patata chaqueta estaba tibia. El panini salió a los pocos minutos de ordenar y estaba empapado y no en el más mínimo pedazo tostado. También las bebidas calientes, ¿por qué están en una taza de papel para sentarse en el interior? Una verdadera decepción al castillo que fue una gran experiencia.
